Should drop by 1,812 tonnes tomorrow and 1,074 tonnes the day after that. The total should therefore stand at 186,702 tonnes. That might start to creep up as the week/month progresses now that a lot of labour disputes and seasonal shut downs are over.

There is always the JV option.

Freeport disposed of Malmyzh when copper was around $2/lb. it’s not uncommon for big player to dispose of assets that subsequently turn out to be valuable. Just look at Horizonte’s Araguaia nickel laterite project bought from Vale for next to nothing.

Malmyzh can give you pointers but it’s not the whole story.

The reference to Amur Minerals in the same paragraph as TB being CEO and Malmyzhskoe is a bit confusing so don't read too much into that.

Can't see the $2B anywhere. They borrowed $1B back in 2013 but I suspect they've spent all of that by now. Everything else that comes up in a search is relatively modest, a couple of hundred million or so, nothing as chunky as this latest loan Garf has highlighted.

The jungle drums are not saying this Monday or even this week but the drums could be getting played with mufflers so who knows.

For those interested in this sort of thing nickel in the LME will drop another 1,812 tonnes on Monday. Total in the LME now 188,676 tonnes. At the current rate of depletion class 1 nickel stocks in the LME will be down to around 100,000 tonnes by the end of the year.

68p or up almost 10% on the TSX. Let’s hope it sticks or goes even higher going into the close over there and is reflected + some here on Monday.

If the market gets a hold of it will it matter what the truth/facts are? Probably not.

Nickel rich cathode chemistries are still producing the best results when it comes to energy density. Interesting to see this particular development also emphasising stability. Its all down to the "non-volatile, poorly-flammable, dual-anion ionic liquid electrolyte (ILE)" apparently.

Its initial storage capacity is 214 milliampere hours per gram (mAh g-1) of the cathode material. After 1000 cycles, 88 percent of the capacity are retained."

1,000 cycles with a 350 mile fully charged battery is 350,000 miles in total. If the battery capacity dropped to 88% over that time I don't think I'd be that bothered.

No movement in nickel stocks in the LME over the bank holiday weekend but it looks like they'll drop by 786 tonnes tomorrow and a further 2,010 tonnes the day after. Stocks of class 1 nickel in the LME should end the week below 190,000 tonnes.
