......in amongst all the low level aggressive ping pong that's been going back and forward this morning nobody seems to want to address the elephant in the room. This morning's RNS is not what most were expecting hence the failure to ignite the share price. Unless I've missed it, nobody has asked where the details of the off-take and corner stone investor are. That's what we were all waiting for and expecting from this RNS is it not? In amongst all the back slapping and JM eulogies I'd like to award him and A+ in verisimilitude.

Still on track but a few more hurdles to cross before the share price re-rates IMO.

Thanks for taking the time to lay Mirabela's travails at Santa Rita out in detail. What you've highlighted shows just out easy it is for things to go sideways despite all the detailed assessments and preparatory work that's been done in advance.

I'm pretty sure RY is only too aware of the whole Mirabela story. I'm also fairly certain that the problems that beset Mirabela weren't unique to Santa Rita. In Mirabela's case some of what happened at Santa Rita was simply bad luck. Some of it down to poor decision making. That can happen at any project. That's one of the reasons why I'd like to see KM sold and not taken into production by Amur. The returns would be less but so would the sleepless nights.

.....get the angst being displayed this morning. Whether the RNS confirming the final finance hurdle has been crossed arrives tomorrow or sometime 4th. Q it will not change where the share price eventually settles. If you think JM missing the self-imposed 3rd.Q deadline is indicative of problems then you don't understand how this all works. The legal eagles will have their claws into this at the moment. If one comma or full stop or paper clip is missing from the final agreement it will not get signed off. My son worked in corporate fiance, legal side, in the City. Its pedantic beyond belief. Having said that they were also very good at meeting deadlines, working into the small hours to do so.

My money is on tomorrow. If not tomorrow then next week. As said previously, today, tomorrow, next week, it willnot change where the share price goes or eventually settles.

As for all this "he said,she said bulls--t" hindsight is a wonderful thing. Funny how nobody ever comes back after the event to acknowledge the things they got wrong.

The mining majors are awash with cash at the moment. They may not be as reckless this time round as they were back in 2007 Horizonte, however, will be difficult for them to ignore.

I don't see anybody making a move to acquire Horizonte until Araguaia 1 is producing. They would then be buying a producing mine with very significant upside. What do you pay for something like that?

Jubilee and Inco are excellent examples of what can happen when all the stars are aligned.

Some similarities and some differences together with one glaring clanger.

The article was written in October 2007 just weeks/months before the GFC and the price of nickel tanking.

You could argue that we are still in the same commodities super cycle that lead up to the 2007 crash. Whether we are or not it doesn’t alter the fact that Horizonte has a large take-over target on its back. It’s not a matter of if but when.
