Shareholder make the decision whether to sell not the BOD.

I very much doubt that. Amur is predominantly PI owned probably around 90%.

Today's RNS was nothing more than an opening gambit IMO.

The issue under discussion wasn't just the price of one particular metal. Of greater significance is the cost reductions that come with a doubling of volume produced. The article that generated the discussion focused on the increased cost of some raw materials. It neglected to address the reduction in cost as volumes scale up.

At not point did I say nickel doubling was no big deal.

You say "the final cost of the car includes marketing" .The example I quoted was a Tesla Model 3. Tesla do not have marketing costs.

If this is one entity within the nominee account they really should be issuing a TR1.

Year end results 31/12/2020 released on 30/06/2021 said this.

"On the 3 April 2020, the Company made a grant of 30,000,000 options with an exercise price of 1.75 pence per ordinary share to Directors, executives and employees. As at 31 December 2020, the Company has 55,619,260 options outstanding."

With options I should think Robin has an awful lot more than 6m shares.

The RNS does not state that the "potentially interested party" and the "potential purchaser" are one and the same.

If I'm right and this offer has not come from the same party that's been quietly accumulating in the Euroclear Nominee account then we might end up with a bidding war on our hands. Bit of an outside possibility but it seems to me that our accumulator was following a different strategy.

Either way whoever has tabled an offer of up to £100m the current share price of 4p presents a real buying opportunity for them.

This is a speculative low ball offer that, IMO, is trying to take advantage of the nervousness in the market caused by unfolding events in the Ukraine. I'm not even sure the Euroclear holder is the party behind this.

I think it's simply game on. Could be wrong.

Can't really disagree with the sentiment on all fronts there. Having said that I'm just about to.

The accumulation that started back in July/August at the time the TEO was finished and being tidied up for submission, that's as good an indication as you're going to get that somebody has been kicking the tyres. If they are buying a significant chunk of the equity it suggests they like what they see.

In any negotiations you are going to get some idea from the seller of what they'd accept (which is what the BOD think they can sell to their PIs). If the gulf between the current sp and the price the BOD can sell to their PIs is significant it makes sense to pile in and buy. That's what has been happening. I expect the Euroclear account will be 6%+ at the next update. That's a few million saved on a 7p+ offer price.

The only thing that doesn't quite fit the above scenario is the current share price. If the rumour were true we'd be 5p+ by, at the latest, the end of the week and that doesn't look like its going to happen. That could simply be down to the Ukraine.

If this rumour is true it helps explain the accumulation these past 6 to 7 months. I'd expect Euroclear to be on at least 6% when the next update appears.

Never accept the first offer. I'm not sure, however, if this approach works in Russia.

£100m on a fully diluted basis which is 1,441,664,541 comes to 6.9p per share but probably a bit less once you factor in expenses. Not a great result after all these years.

MD, I'm thinking the kick is a good bit lower than the teeth!

Very wise. It's difficult to know what's going on in RY world and whether what has been released into the public domain is what's actually happening. Erring on the side of caution at least contains the possibility, no matter how unlikely, of a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

I think they started to accumulate in July of 2021. You can see shares going from the main nominee accounts into the "Others" account pretty consistently from that date. The "Others" total then drops by the 51m when Euroclear declares at the shareholder update on 03/12/2021.

They've been accumulating, on average, between 8m to 10m shares a months since July.

I don't think so. Somebody has been accumulating for several months now. A Euroclear Nominee account appeared for the first time in December. Shares have been moving out of all the other accounts since July of last year (they've all gone down in that time except one which increased by a modest 800,000 shares). It looks to me like somebody has been slowly and patiently hoovering up 8m to 10m each month. They eventually crossed the 3% threshold in November with 51m shares and that increased in December to 58m. I'm expecting that to go up again with the next shareholder update (Amur updates this on their web site every month).

The TEO was submitted in August of last year so it looks to me as though somebody caught sight of that, liked what they saw and started to buy. If this party intends a buy out then hoovering up 58m at an average of somewhere in the region of 1.6p to 1.8p makes good commercial sense especially if the eventual buy out price is significant north of that.
