The £1 for August 2024 would mean that JL was good to his word when he predicted, in a Sunday Mail interview in July 2022, that the share price would return to its pre-rights level (of 97p) within 'a year or two'.

I had hope for £1 this August but that's no going to happen now .....

If it doesn't happen by next August then this isn't so much a Del.Boy investment as a Rodney investment ... In that we've all been PLONKERS

I agree that we need some movement upwards and some positive results / statements.

I am a patient person .... But this share needs the patience of a saint .... I don't really want to be waiting for March results (again and again and again)

@Aim - like last time sigh - you post your mythical trade after the share price has already risen since your mythical buy in price.

You would have much more credibility if you posted the trade at the mythical point you bought it....

Rather than waiting the share to rise by 1p and then posting nonsense!

@Know() - great to read your post and spooky that you have had a similar journey investing in CPI as me.

I'm currently holding about £127k worth of shares @ 29p average having previously decided not to sell on the March spoke (at 43p) as, I too, was waiting for 48p! Ha that will teach us!

I'm confident that this will come very good again in quite short order now and, not wanting, to make the same mistakes again, I'm going to start selling in 12.5% slices once we cross 40p.

Plan is to only sell in a back test - so if we cross 40p and then back test it - I'm selling 12.5% at that point - if we don't back test then I'll wait for 45p etc

I'd be interested to know your plans this time around and perhaps we can honestly share what we are doing on here (as neither your or my trading is going to have any impact here)

Well I think Aim took his profit too soon - this is looking like it's screaming to break 29p / 30p and with the FTSE rallying and (good) results expected in less than 3 weeks .... The only way is up!

A lot of amateur investors rush to take their profits too soon .... I didn't see Schroder's (who own 19% of Capita) selling yesterday .... So I don't see any reason for me to sell either.

Follow the money!

@Aim - I would have been more impressed by that post (in for a trade at 27.22p) - if you had posted it when the share price was 27.22p ....

Suggesting you are in for a 27.22p trade when the share is rallying at 28.8xp seems a little suspicious!

Well that's confirmation of the bullish homing pigeon pattern that they identified on British Bulls as the share priced 27.82p - so a buy signal should now be issued.

Looking good here again now ....

@NigeCo - I would have thought an opening salvo at around £2.40 / £2.50 which, the way things are going, would still be 100% premium on the share price at the point of offer.

After that - who knows - but it's probably in DT and Drahi's interest for the share to fall as low as possible and with a further 5.39p about to drop off the price (when we go ex-dividend in August) - that is the time that I would probably attack!

All speculation - but at these prices BT has definitely got to be ripe for takeover!

This is looking much perkier now ... My feeling is that the bottom is now in (at around 26.5p) and we are about to start the healing process.

According to British Bulls - anything above 27.82p is confirmation of a Bullish Homing Pigeon which will mean they will switch to BUY ...

About time some pigeons came home to roost on this FTSE laggard! 😁

@GMAN12 - apologies - you are right - after issuing a trading update that smashed the share price downwards because of the wishy washy wording (I think it dropped from about 47p down into the mid / low 30s) - JL did indeed buy some shares.

It didn't stop the share price slide and he hasn't bought any shares since December 2021 - despite giving an interview to The Mail on Sunday in July 2022 where he predicted the share price should be at the pre rights issue price (of 97p) within a year or two!

As others have suggested before - this has either been turned around by JL now or, surely his position is untenable.

Then again ... You never know with CPI!

@saibaba - if you are going to wait for directors to buy CPI - you are going to be waiting a very very VERY long time.

I follow this share closely and I seem to remember the CFO taking a cautious 100,000 @ 38p back in 2020 but no-one has put their hand in their pocket since.

The cynics here would suggest why the directors would need to buy any shares when the company keeps rewarding them (via their director compensation plan) with free shares for - as yet unproven - company performance.

One thing is for sure - this will rally towards the day of the report and, if things look good, it's going to rocket.

Waiting for director buys and results day is not a great strategy for this specific share ....

@Gman12 - as you say - this tends to perform well as results approach and, if they please, it then rockets for a few days.

Back in July / August 2021 - it rallied by 20% (to 36p) before results and then continued rising to 50p over the next 6 or so trading sessions.

We've no reason to believe that the results will be anything but good and, with a bit of luck, we'll get some good news on the hacking costs too (eg less than expected or covered by insurance) ....

If we also get the reinstatement of dividends (I'm not so convinced about this and think it might need to wait until March 2024) then fasten your seat belts ....

Whatever happens - 27p, right now, is an amazing entry point and currently lower than my own long term average.

I think the next few weeks are going to be very exciting!

@DD123 - yes very good performance today considering the wiser market ..... This share has a pretty high BETA so when the market is down .... This is usually a lot more down ..... but today it wasn't.

Those 27p large trades may well be marking the bottom here and we can then look forward to a steady rise into results.

Whatever happens - the way this performed today - I don't think we've got much to worry about moving forward.

@eviking - imo very unlikely to see 22p again - everything seems to be on track from a business perspective and results due in early August ..

More likely to see 32p or 42p or even 52p imo .... Based on what we know at the moment

@NoFear - I would have thought that the share price stabilising around 27p whilst 80 million shares change hands would be a massively positive event and not anything to worry about at all.

Those who trade millions of shares at a time (ie financial institutions) have more important things to consider than whether it's worth waiting for the August results update.

Some have speculated that Odey may be liquidising his investment (very much like Woodford did) and, if true, those sort of events are not determined by whether CPI will.be reporting in a few weeks or not. When you need to liquidate ... You liquidate.

I've been very much encouraged by th volume over the last few days and took the opportunity to buy more (even though I'm massively overweight in Capita already).

I would suggest this might be a good time to stop spouting nonsense and, instead, buy your stake in Capita back before it's too late!

It's coming up to the 1st anniversary when JL predicted the CPI share price would return to pre-rights issue of 97p - it was discussed in an article published in The Mail on Sunday on 10th July 2022.

He predicted 97p 'in a year or two' - well we've had 1 year (almost) so only a year to go now then 😁

It was the above article that convinced me to go and stay long on CPI so I've got everything crossed that JL is good to his word ...

@TerryMC1 - I agree it doesn't help that Odey is involved here HOWEVER it might explain why this share has been in a downtrend since the Odey 'incident' in that his holding is being liquidated.

If they is the case then we can expect a return to the mid-30s very quickly - irrespective of the nonsense spouted by the Fearless Fool.

I take the dumping of those 19 million as a positive sign and the price can start to recover after such a prolonged downtrend.

I agree with Bubbles - I think we are only a few weeks away from a re-rating - I'm not so sure about a 6 bagger (from here) .. but I think 1 or even 2 or even 3 bags from here is very possible by the end of 2023.

Just a bit more patience required .. the efforts of JL has turned a basket case of a company into a fit, profitable, business with a strong order book and free cashflow.

It's just the market hasn't woken up to this fact yet - but they will!
