I see that some are suggesting we need to close the gap at 16.2p before we can move higher but I'm hoping that the forthcoming (good) results will propel this higher (leaving the 16.2p gap unclosed).

I guess if we have well received results we target 30p with my primed cup and handle ... And if the results are not well received then we head for 16.2p

Would that be a fair summary?

@Crowman - I agree that the SP response, so far, to the earlier RNS is disappointing but I'm wondering how much of that disappointment has been caused by us being so close to HY results?

The cup and handle pattern looks nicely poised and I would have thought any breakout above 21.85p would solidly point the way to 30p very soon.

If you think we will see 25p minimum on Friday (I think we will too) then that would confirm the cup and handle and 30p will be shortly afterwards.

So I'm not sure why you need to hedge this time. I know it's been a great strategy (which I should have followed and didn't) in the past - it just feels / looks different this time around.

Also - it's heartening to see more pundits beginning to talk about capita again as that's going to bring in more buyers.

I am looking to try and trade the cup and handle if I can with a view to adding a lot of shares, post results, assuming they are good and the share price responds accordingly

@aim - we don't always see eye to eye but I think your summary (of what to expect for Friday results) is very good.

I also think - with a cup and handle already primed - we have a good chance of seeing a follow through approaching the 30s by the 9th August.

One thing I've learned about CPI (over the years) is that when she rallies .... She usually rallies for 3 or 4 consecutively days ....

So - I would say to all those hoping to trade the cup and handle (including myself) - be patient and don't exit too soon.

I fully expect this to hit at least 30p and probably overshoot before retracing .... Assuming we get the results we are expecting / hoping for ...

And if a small, special dividend is announced then hold onto your hats!

Some say that a single share traded is a signal between the MM that they are running short of shares ....

I'm not convinced they are that intelligent ....

But I agree it is pointless trading in single shares so it must mean something!

@Kipper - it's probably foolish for me to have so many of these shares but that's what happens when you have belief in a company and keep averaging down!

I think The Crownman and a few others have got more shares than me ... At a better average too I would guess ...

But it's not a competition and if I can make some money holding Capita shares then I'll be fine ....

Ha not sure if I'm very brave or very foolish .....probably the later rather than the former .... But I've always believed in this company but have, until very recently, been disappointed by the results.

I think all is about to change which is why I've been increasing my position over the last week or two (just before and just after the sale of Capita One).

But .... I could be wrong ... But fortune favours the brave ....

@NoFear - I think I've got pretty big b***s with 1,136,000 shares at a 21.9p average .....

I've been accumulating since the start of 2022 when these were trading at north of 30p and found myself holding a lot of shares (and very deep underwater) when we hit 12.4p.

I've never lost faith though and I am convinced we are on the cusp of a sustained recovery now .... I think the worst has passed

Over the last few weeks (just before the latest surge) I managed to get nearly 500,000 into an ISA to protect myself from any increase in CGT by the new Labour Government.

I'm convinced - within a few months - I'll see my patience pay off as the SP takes off on forward guidance from AH.

@JG68 - oh she's noticed the pattern .....it's just a question of whether the pattern is executed before or after results ....

Likelihood is that the pattern will get confirmation on a good set of results and then .... All hell will break loose here as the traders try and pile in to trade the pattern!

And if she breaks upwards before results then you won't get any complaints from me ....

BTW - Aims call of 19.3p close isn't looking too far off the mark at the moment!

@JG68 - it's the formation of that cup and handle that's really catching my eye and the fact we are not far away from results ....

Spread has been very tight this morning and it's just looking like it wants to head back up irrespective of what the wider market does ...

It's just my view - which could be wrong - but tha TA chart seems to indicate we should start rising again soon!

@NoFear - you had your changes at 18.88p yesterday and blew it ... This isn't dropping below 19p today now .... And could well leave the bus station without you ...

Still time to board this bus rather than being left at the bus stop (again) .... Ignore the cup and handle at your peril!

@NoFear - yes your 18.7p prediction was very accurate and almost accurate to the hundredth of a penny ....

I actually thought we had no chance of seeing 18.7p again when you posted over the weekend and I said so in response to your prediction.

What's interesting now though is that a cup and handle pattern looks to be forming between March 2024 and today .... And if that's true .... And if it plays out as per the TA handbook ....

Then this is preparing to rocket again .....

@NoFear - missing a buy by a few hundred thousands of a penny is just idiotic in my world. OK - you might make an extra 10p on the trade 😀 ....but by waiting for the pennies .....you've missed the pounds ....

@Oculusprime - I guess never say never ... But with an extra £210m on the balance sheet, broker ratings raised, other brokers actively recommending and buying the stock (calling it a stock market blind spot) and given we are only days away from results ....

Then a drop back to the 13s seems very unlikely .... UNLESS the results are received very poorly and then - who knows - probably a drop back to the 15s would give those waiting for 13p some hope maybe?

I've been adding before and after the recent rises and, imho, people waiting for 13p in the immediate short term have 2 HOPES ....

Am I alone .....I'm willing the CPI share price to NOT drop to 18.7p so that @NoFears buy isn't executed ....

Perhaps I'm being childish .... But we've touched 18.72p today (as a sell) and it would be fabulous if NoFear missed out just because of a few hundredths of a penny!

@JG68 - there was a huge amount of positivity around CPI as we breached 20p on 11th July and I recall an analyst recommending CPI on 12th July with the real potential of a bagger over 12 months.

Hopefully this will bottom out soon and then we can start a gentle climb towards results next week ... with another explosion to follow ...

@JG68 - they are just playing with this share at the moment - dropped it to 19.98p to take out all the 20p stop losses - then let it rebound back upto 20.40p immediately.

I think we are consolidating and I'm hoping 20p will hold before me move back to have another go at 21.85p prior to results ...

Only 8 more trading days to go when our investment either goes up 50% or crashes 50% 😀

@Kipper - I've been switching around my ISA holdings (and have got 400,000 shares protected from Rachel Reeves) which is why I'm holding so many CPI at the moment.

When we hit 22.09p then I'll turn blue and I'm planning to top slice 20k shares at 25p and then see how quickly we move forward.

Overall plan is to sell all non ISA shares in tranches on 5p movements of the SP although I also plan to Bed and ISA my (and my wife's) full ISA allowance next year too (at whatever price is available on 6th April).

I want to get at least 500k shares protected, tax free, from the long term whilst crystallising smaller gains in the short term by selling non ISA stock.

That's the plan .....will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next 24 months
