Really disappointed we are sub 14p heading into Capital Markets Day - it seems that only a few of the faithful on here have any faith in the future.

That was a nice jump up to 14.66p in the UT - haven't seen that for a while here .... Maybe bodes well for tomorrow and the run up into Capital Markets Day

I wonder when (or if) we will here from the ICO about the report into the Capita hack in March 2023.

How long does it take these people to investigate a hack and issue a report? It totally trashed our SP at the time and is something we have, so far, failed to recover from.

Our hack looks miniscule compared with Ticketmaster and all the others .....

@JG68 I agree that profit, ultimately, is everything .... Although turning over £2.6bn does give the comfort that they SHOULD be able to trade there way into profit

@Okey-Dokey I think focusing on winning government contracts is probably the best strategy and I'm less worried about overseas call centres as I see, medium term, AI replacing them.

I recently had a chat with a FedEx AI bot when I was trying to track a parcel and it was just like chatting to a human being .... So if AI is that good in 2024 ... What's it going to be like in 2030?

I would have thought the opportunity to make a lot of money (from shorting CPI) has passed as we languish below 14p unless the shooters believe a £2.6bn revenue business is going bust?

I am hopeful for a gradual rise into Capital Markets Day but I have been taken back by the recent fall from 14.96 down to 13.76p over the last few days .....

I don't really understand why we aren't pushing upwards (rather than downwards) ...

We are ever closer to Capital Markets Day, we had a positive article in the (usually negative) Sunday Times and the total number of buys are - on a daily basis - exceeding sells (according to LSE).

So shorts are increasing - is that the problem?

@JG68 There is no certainty that those businesses would have turned profitable whilst being led by a technophobe such as JL .... As soon as they were released from the corporate treacle which is/was Capita .... They flourished ...

AH has got quite an uphill battle to whip this sluggish (extension of a government department) company into shape - but i do think he's up to the task.

JL sold everything he could to bolster the balance sheet and keep the company trading and, I guess, you could argue he did a reasonable job at that (given we didn't go bust) - but Capita needs the radical coat cutting surgery to make it survive long term and profitable.

Perhaps JL just couldn't sell business as well as cut costs (and selling the businesses was just the first steps) ... But given the amount of money I'm currently down on Capita (due to the JL had truths) - I'm loathed to cut him any slack!

NoFear has moved on, Aimamaster has gone long on CPI and - rather than have some peace - we now get the incessant diatribe from @Savage - who hasn't even bought 1 CPI share!

I agree - we need to get back to discussing Capita else there is little point monitoring/ contributing to this board

CPI did pretty well during the last (1997 - 2010) Labour government so I can't see why it won't thrive under the next Labour government.

At the end of the day - someone / some company has got to deal with all the stuff (like ULEZ and licence fee collection etc) that's others don't want to do ...

Whatever colour the government - these jobs are going to need to be done

By my reckoning - closing above 14.45p last week knocks out the 20 day MA and we are now in a new technical channel heading towards 15.9p

Is that technically correct or am I just clutching at straws (again) as I saw @Stumpy sell out and he tends to watch the technicals?

I think Friday afternoon was a bit of an aberration although spinning out of auction at 15.84p shows what can happen here at the drop of a hat.

@Stumpy seems to think we may be heading back to

13.25p but my view is that we are trying to break the 14.4p resistance and then we can quickly move up towards 15.8p.

All to play for here .....and lots of things to look forward to over the coming week - Capital Markets Day, New CFO joining, August results (which I suspect will be better than promised) ..... and maybe even some more director purchases .

I think the 16:24 UT was as we span our of auction at 15.84p - that would possibly explain that trade and then the usual one at 16:35 too?

Sorry if my comment about the hope of a management buyout spooked you ..... Although I did suggest there was little hope (Bob Hope / No Hope) of this happening.

I'm really happy to have been able to add and hold at these levels but am a little frustrated by the deep coma that the SP is currently experiencing....

However, with a new CFO and new contracts and the strategic review in June (hopefully well received) and the August results (hopefully exceeding expectations as AH did pretty much kitchen sink everything in March) - there is a lot to be optimistic about here ....

I can't see the point of a capital raise at these levels as (like you point out) it would totally destroy shareholder value.

Now that JL has sold off the 'family silver' - the balance sheet looks a lot better (than it did) and I would have thought increasing debt (by borrowing) would be more prudent that diluting shareholders with another RI.

I'm still hoping for a Management Buy Out once AH has got all his mates on the board - with Schroders rolling into the new privately held company. Perhaps 2 hopes - Bob Hope and No Hope.

I would have thought the demise of Weller and Lewis would have been immensely healthy from a share price perspective but CPI continues to slumber ...

It seems that only proven cash flow and profit is going to wake this beast ....

I think you are wrong - I think the June statement could well be the game changer assuming the new CEO strategy is well received.

Remember that the new CEO strategy was the game changer at RR and we all know how that played out and a similar thing could easily happen here.

Any announcement that the business is performing better than forecast (back in March) and clear sight of FCF would set a proverbial rocket under the SP too.

Previously they announced a reduced position on 9th October 2023, and if you look at the share price movement around that period - the price actually rallied significantly.

I'm not suggesting that their sale caused the rally - but equally - their sale didn't cause a drop in share price either.

I guess all will become clear on Monday but I'm not worried (for now)

My guess is RNS in the morning - this has looked a leaky ship for some time and exaggerated price action is usually followed, the following day, by an RNS.

Will be interesting to see what 0700 tomorrow brings (if anything)
