An 'as expected update' is probably not good enough to radically drive the SP higher - right now - as it doesn't really deliver a strong enough reason to hold - right now - BUT progress continues - albeit slower than many of us would like.

I think we will drop a little on that update as some would have hoped for quicker progress but I'm hoping we won't need the tin hats again .....

We will soon find out!

Even though I sold a few this afternoon - I sold about 10% of my total holding in the end - I'm still optimistic for tomorrow and hugely optimistic for the future.

I've had far too much money invested in Capita for far too long so if I'm on the wrong side of the trade in the morning it doesn't matter (to me) and it's better to be a little cautious and enjoy a rise with 90% of my original holding ... Than try and be greedy and go through a drop (again) whilst holding 100%.

I'm not a lucky share trader so that bodes well for everyone holding to the max ... although I don't think there are many lucky traders here .... just traders who claim to be lucky after the fact!

As I'm holding so many - I've decided to hedge a few for a bit of interest - I've just sold 4% of my 100,000 (1.5 million old money) holding ....

If it drops a bit - I'll buy back and if it rockets - I'll use the money to go on a well earned holiday😁

Trading update in the morning where the H1 numbers may disappoint the city (given everything seems to be front end loaded and I doubt we will see FCF until H2) ...

So was wondering if anyone is considering selling a few today with a view to buying back cheaper tomorrow?

I've regretted not hedging ahead of previous updates (which means they will probably rocket higher in the morning if I hedge a few) ....

Just wondered what others think?

@Trisor Clearing the share premium account was mandatory if we were going to return to paying dividends - I don't know why - but it is ...

Nice to see us continuing to execute against the previous announced plans and I don't understand why the SP dipped on the RNS confirming we had done what we said we would do ....

It's about time we had a positive trading update here so fingers crossed for next week

@HHH - I don't really have a view on the analysis other than the predicted SP numbers seem somewhat cautious based on recent (and not so recent) history.

Back in 2021 we topped out at about 55p (old money) in the August and we were in a much much much worse position then than we are now

Back in 2020, pre COVID, we were at £1.70 (again old money) and although we had a lot of businesses / revenue - we didn't have a lot of profit and we had a huge amount of debt!

My investment case has always been based on the eradication of debt and the resumption of dividends because an outsourcer (providing solutions to Government) should be a boring stock to hold with a tasty, almost guaranteed, dividend.

So - £7.50 new money (50p) has got to be an initial target and I would like to see a return to £15 over a period of a year or two ...

Having said all that - I think we will get bought out before then and I'm hoping Adolfo can get us at least £7.50 a share ...

Are we at inflection - I think we are close to it ... And with a good update on 17th June - there may be no stopping the swing every upwards

@gotnorolez - Staverly mentions the loss making business in one of his videos saying that management needs to sort this out (and offload the remaining customer that is losing them money).

I seem to recall the loss is about £20m a year - so it should have some impact when they announce the situation is finally sorted.

@Trisor - it's possible we will hear about the clearing of the share premium account before June ...

It's also possible we will hear about the dumping of that loss making pension business before June too ..

My point being it isn't just contracts that could be the impetus to drive this forward ...

@Aim - for what it's worth - I don't expect another pullback until we get into the early £2.50s .... but what's a few pence between friends 😄

@HHH - I think @Aim said he bought back at £2.28 and is now looking for £2.47

@Daltry - I have absolute faith in this backed up with a very large position and, as long as I hold my nerve, I will be handsomely rewarded.

I managed to bed and ISA £40ks worth at an average of less than £1.80 (new money) this year whilst, at the same time, creating a tasty capital loss to gain tax relief from.

There is nothing to worry about here anymore - First class management team offering AI solutions to Government at the precise moment that Government realise they need AI to drive cost savings ....

Prior to consolidation - my blind faith looked a "bit blind" - but post consolidation I think I've backed a winner ...

@Aim - another good call (to take some profit here) yesterday .... you posting that you were starting to cash in your chips certainly encouraged me to take some profit too.

Where do you see the re-entry point? £2.10?

I've sold a few into this spike too as I have a strong suspicion it will want to go back and test £2.25 in the not too distant future ....

I'm hoping the spike holds and it doesn't fall back as I'm still holding more than 1.5 million shares (old money) so it's a good hedge for now

For me - if we deliver on what we said we would deliver then 40p "old money" should be achievable before the end of the year or - at the latest - at March 2026 results.

If we don't deliver (again) then we might be seeing 12p old money again!

Still all to play for ....but also ... ALL TO PROVE ..

We are heading to the point where the talking has got to stop and the delivery has got to begin! All imho

It's been banging it's head on £2.20ish for a day or so - a bit like when it was banging it's head on £2.05 before breaking upwards ....

This must be eyeing £2.35 / £2.40 now if we can convincingly push through £2.25.

@Aim - as Richard Staverly recently said "there will be a time when everyone will want to get hold of some Capita shares" - and I feel that we are firmly on our way now ...

There is just so much to look forward to in the not very distant future:

Getting rid of the loss making pension business, FCF, clearing out the share premium account, confirmation of accelerated cost cutting, trading update on 17/6.half year results in early August ....

@Trisor - we've definitely got a background buyer now as this rise continues ... I'm told that next resistance is around £2.40 (16p old money) ... and that is where we look to be heading ...

I predicted yesterday we might see £2.25 by the end of the week ... The way it's going .... We might see £2.25 by the end of today .... And I'd be looking for the £2.40 resistance by the end of the week now (if not sooner).

Very interesting all the negative posters have vanished now .... But even better news for the LTHs is the SP is still strongly rallying!

@HHH - it definitely looks like it wants to break free ...

@HHH - it doesn't feel like a background seller to me and if we can keep up momentum today then we should be pushing our of the £1.80 -> £2.05 wedge that we've been stuck in since consolidation.

I'm going to call at least £2.25 by the end of the week here as I honestly believe this is much less volatile now than when it was trading in pennies
