I'm still holding 1.2million shares here (old money) but I think - with it being the end of the month and with £3.40 being a little more difficult to crack (than previous points) - it might be prudent to just be CAUTIOUS ....

I'm not suggesting anyone sells .... but I certainly wouldn't be a buyer at this level (even if I'm proved wrong and it storms forward again).

At some point there has got to be some profit taking (and end of the month makes sense on that front) ...

I get the argument that we were at 45p in March 2023 when the company was in a bad way .... I would add we were at 55p in September 2021 and the company was in an even worse state ...

We've had lots of false dawns followed by hasty retreats .... March 2023 to March 2024 saw a drop from 45p to 12p ....

Also July - October 2024 (where it looked liked things were stabilising at over 20p) - also ended with the share retreating back to 11p again.

I'm just advocating caution .... It's definitely a HOLD at this level but I am certain it's not a SELL but I'm not convinced it's a buy at the moment ...

Another week beckons and it will be really interesting to see whether the SP continues to reach for the stars without any retrace?

Without anymore news - I would expect it to consolidate around here before pushing ahead again after the August update.

But I still think something is driving this SP higher that is not based on trading updates as many have pointed out (including me) that the June update contained no new news other than FCF was now likely to be 2026 rather than 2025.

My guess ... a retrace to £3 before getting to £3.75 or more by Friday ...... because - it is about this level of share rise that everyone has rapidly disembarked the CPI bus in the past ...

But maybe this time it really will be different - a pivotal week I think ....

I would assume they have gone long on CPI and are using the short as a hedge .....

This has been far far far to exuberant over the last 10 days and nothing - not even Capita which we all love - goes up in a straight line.

We are also getting close to the top of the trading range now and it might break out upwards ... but it also might retrace ....

And that's why I think the short is still in place!

@Trisor - but no TR1s so far ..... maybe Richard Staverly was right when he said that there will come a time when everyone will want to be a Capita shareholder ...maybe that time is NOW

@Trisor - I've no idea about a bid although I agree with @Crow that £5 would seem to secure it right now BUT....

There is no way that a mediocre trading update that only re-reported what we already knew and even left the possibility of FCF slipping into 2026 .... Can justify this exponential rise with hardly any breath to consolidate or retrace.

Something is definitely afoot here .....

@Kipper - ha I bought £10,000 of RR at 78p and congratulated myself for selling out at £1.10 .... Ha ... not congratulating myself now .....

Share trading is OK if you are lucky and, like you, I'm not lucky - so even though I ended up sellig 20,000 shares here at £2.50 (as a hedge before results and because I didn't think the update read that well - shows what I know) ...

My resolve to put 80,000 shares in an ISA and NEVER touch them has paid off handsomely ....

I'd be surprised if this doesn't retest £3 - but I'm not selling any to test that theory!

@Culley - rise seems never ending but then the drop from £1.70 to 11p was never ending in the first place I guess but surely something is driving this ...

I would expect to see some TR1s soon as surely an II is accumulating (like Crispin Ody was when we reached 45p old money back in March 2023).

I think it's taking a breather and will probably be range bound until August results (unless we get an RNS sooner that changes things further)

My guess is £2.60 / £2.70 to £3.00 to £3.20 range for the time being ....

It didn't manage to close over £3 yesterday so that resistance needs to be broken ..... But after a short breather it wouldn't surprise me to see a test of the dreaded £3.20 again!

@GoCPI - no regrets from me selling 20% of my holding at £2.50 as I was simply holding too much CPI stock, I was short of cash and didn't want to be a forced seller at lower levels if the update hadn't been so well received.

I personally was expecting more from the update - and was disappointed that further progress hadn't been made -which got me to sell 20% rather than 10% of my holding - but with 80,000 shares tucked away in the ISA - there is no point being greedy and definitely no point trying to chase this rally.

And now I've got cash in the bank if we do retrace (which is ever looking less likely) and I banked some profits at £2.50 (and £2.35 and £2.05 and £1.95) for that matter!

I still think 1.2 million shares in an ISA demonstrates a solid belief in what's happening here!

@Crow - wise to take some profit here as - unless a takeover is afoot - surely this must retrace from here? But then I've been saying that since £2.85🥺

An unbelievable run up and long may it continue!

@Trisor - absolutely amazing run since 1.91 - I can't believe I managed to get 325,000 shares (old money) into my ISA to cover this year's 2 x £20,000 contribution.

My £40,000 now worth £60,000 in just 7 weeks! Great return but even great returns to come ...

I expect a pull back this week but also think we will be over £3 ahead of August results and possibly higher!

I always thought £3 by Friday was wildly optimistic as a retrace was due as we stuttered around mid £2.80s on Thursday ....

It may well be that £3 isn't far off again but I still think a small retrace to test - at a minimum £2.70 - will happen before then.

The next challenge will be to hold about £3.20 as that is where we've had serious issues in the past....

I think is going to be range bound between now and August and that range, in my opinion, is £2.60 to £3.00 ISH

Just my view - I note the retrace on Friday was without any conviction (and small volumes too) so no surprises if this pulls back a bit more this week ...

If it doesn't then that's great news too ... I'm just trying to be pragmatic and not get too excited as we have been here before only to be quickly disappointed again!

@Aim - based on December 2024 SP - fair value here looks around £2.55ish (17p old money) as that's where we were before the poorly received trading update.

I don't see anything changing here since that date and the latest update (which I didn't like that much) simply confirmed they were executing against plan ...

The SP however became exuberant and, almost certainly, will calm down in the next week or two as the "£3 by Friday brigade" exit.

I'm still sat with 80,000 shares in an ISA (1.2 million old money) and will buy some more (non ISA) shares should we return to the £2.50s / early £2.60s.

No new news in the trading update surely doesn't support such a surge in the SP .... and like March 2023 ... we will slowly slide back ....because .... After all ... There is no real need to hold Capita shares now until the August half year update.

If I'm wrong then I'd be delighted to see £3 by (any) Friday - but history suggests, especially here, exuberance is usually followed by a sell off (but there are 1.2 million reasons I hope I'm wrong about the sell off)

@Culley - this dropped a bit into the close .... £2.60 doesn't seem quite so far away now .... hope you sold your 10% in the mid £2.80s?

@Culley - I would add that we were at around 17p (old money) just before the December Update (which wasn't well received and caused us to drop) ...

I would also comment that nothing has changed v what was promised in December and what was reiterated in June 2025 ...

So a re-trace to the 17p / £2.55 area before moving upwards would seem sensible .... but when has the stock market ever been sensible!

@Culley - you would think that this would run out of oxygen soon and retrace a little - like it always does - but it doesn't show any sign of slowing at the moment although the rise today is much more measured so maybe it is running out of puff ...

We know from history then once this runs out of puff then the exodus is as fast (and sometimes faster) than the rise.

I headed at £2.50 and that's looking a bit sad now and I, too, would take the loss and buy back the hedge at £2.60 ...

You would think - with the current macro conditions and possibly an imminent American war in Iran - that £2.60 should come again with a little patience ....

The only thing that niggles me is that someone said on here "one day Capita will keep rising and never get back to these levels" ....

Having said all that - I ended up hedging nearly 20% of my holding at an average just under £2.50 ... So if you decide to bank some profit ....I wouldn't discourage you ... And we can both stand on the platform waiting for the magic £2.60 again 😁

@daltry - thanks for your good wishes and it's great we seem to have finally turned a corner.

I wasn't that impressed with the update and thought we might move lower (just shows what I know) and actually sold a few thousand at what now looks a low price as a hedge!

However with 1.2 million (old.money) shares in an ISA - I'm more than pleased with yesterday's progress and it doesn't hurt to have a pot of money free for when Trump invades Iran either!

Well it's looks like my 20% hedge did the trick with the SP now pushing forward .....

I called £2.35 at close because I wasn't that taken by the trading update which just shows what little I know as the market seems to LOVE IT.

I'm still holding 1.2 million shares old money though so not totally disappointed by the storming forward of the SP.

I guess the market are relieved they are still on track .. I was hoping for more ... hence why I hedged.

@Trisor + I thought it was all a bit underwhelming and the supposed contract wins are mainly contracts renewals.

It's good to renew business but it does feel like we are treading water with all the promises of "jam tomorrow" still in place ....

I also thought / felt / hoped that FCF would have been achieved before year end ... but it feels like it's being setup to slip into 2026 as the crunch date approaches.

Just my thoughts .... I sold another 10% at the bell this morning as I think this is going to retrace a bit.

Based on that update - and the historic volatility of CPI - I predict a close of £2.30 - £2.35
