I’m sincerely hoping this isn’t a damp squib like Bae yesterday who had stellar results and yet slipped.

Sadly we have hindsight politics on both sides of the house. Nuclear was seen as dirty for so long it seems hard for them to accept its ‘green’ credentials. Let’s hope in their final days the current administration wake up and sign contracts to deploy not just MOU’s.

I think the new CEO has a point to be honest. Imagine all of the car manufacturers giving away their vehicles and expecting the servicing / spares to cover the cost of manufacturing/ development/ profit. At least with automotive leasing there’s a steady income whatever happens.
It’s a model that would make sense in a stable utopian world, not the fragile world we find ourselves in.

Politically a good move me thinks. BP investing in UK infrastructure (green) and supporting RR as the technology and manufacturing expert. With the frankly mahoosive profits I of BP it would be good to quieten the baying hoards.

Let’s hope they’re right sunz 130 seems a good aiming point as we seem currently to have a solid base of 106ish. It’s got to be said we’ve done well to climb out of the pit so far in 2023.

Turfan it’s fair to say has said what many thought. The board must’ve picked him knowing that they needed even more reorganising than East drove through. Their model has thus far, with great products, delivered good penetration into the markets, perhaps now is the time be less reliant on just engine hours to make money? I’m just a simple investor with a nest egg here wanting the much joked about £7 though I’ll likely be dead before then so 1.48 is my target

Why would we give France (EDF) the order? Beggars belief if we do not exactly brimming with success and why fill the French coffers any more than we have to?

We certainly seem to have settled around the 102/3 mark. I think the low to mid 120's is a strong likelihood as we get closer to the 23rd Feb when the results are published especially if the winks are positive. It's been a very good few days and the new CEO is obviously viewed as a positive change.

My Avg is now 100.9 (was 141) so pleased that that ones finally back in the blue, just.

Heading towards results day in feb, probably the consensus is a reasonably positive set of results, not stellar. I’m thinking a slow drift upwards, though I’d personally like a couple more 5% dips though with the sp close to my average getting that item lower is going to be tedious.

25% rise is very conservative.

Timing the next 3-5% dip is going to be a challenge

Much rather the profits went to RR than EDF (France) that’s for sure.

I suspect there are people in the department of business and energy and industrial strategy who are fundamentally against nuclear energy. They may well be very happy (nimby’s) that we import nuclear energy from France or hoping that nuclear fusion will now happen overnight. People seem to hate what this country was, a small island that punched above its weight and could once again with decent strategy
