Yep if a test gets to production all will be well, but there has been little in the way of firm news.A lot of “company is happy” and “progress being made”. A little ooo “ we will go back to start and change sample method” slipped in.

The pg sensitivity is a proxy for number of target sites that the reagent can bind too,

If each molecule has for simplicity one bind site, the number of molecules detected eg protein or nucleotide could be the same, but the pg sensitivity different (10 of x weighs more than 10 of y).

This is why comparing pg sensitivity doesn’t really work between test targeting different molecules.

Also the number each molecule available for is not the same in a sample. Lots of spike proteins for example allows better sensitivity from the start.

Also is it assuming the sample is saturated with enough reagent that all binding sites are bound. Adding more reagent doesn’t provide better detection. So number of targets is impt.

It could be worse, we could be looking at how to add the Greek alphabet (statistics......boooooo)

Avacta don't have a test available according to the company. That might be incorrect, but thats the latest news we have from them. Little England sentiment needs to be kicked into touch. Buy the best available tests that meet criteria and get on with sorting this out.

Government should ensure we have strategic capability, but the world works today on trade. Should the Canadian, US, Italian, french, Indian government refuse Avacta tests because UK selected tests based on origin. I would hope Avacta can sell worldwide based on merit and make lots of money, not make some money based on UK protectionism.

and why has Prof Waffle not announced that another company has been contracted. It is known to everyone in both companies, the ones in Avacta are shareholders and this news has moved the share price. Why would a CEO not tell his share holders ? Good tech, **** communications.

He says he will update market, but he doesn't. Don't know why, he says that cos he doesn't- Maybe he just doesn't like having to answer to others, and this is his power game. Glassdoor reviews seem to indicate that it's not all "follow our glorious leader".

Will saliva be part of multiple sample test ?

he says other products outstrip covid test for revenue. Maybe that's the issue, he doesn't believe in 120 million tests per month in Uk, and doesn't believe his sales team can sell outside UK. Shame if thats the case. 100's of millions in the bank would be nice for owners, but he's got his other babies funded.

appreciate what is being done is amazing. But no need for the smoke and mirrors. BOD maybe gave him rollocking for saying too much this summer, now he's gone the other way. Hopefully he will listen to feedback and adjust to the sweet spot.
