From June but it is easy to see where the Indian OEM alliance came from. A 1.5m order and more to come including a go to market partnership.
Ethernity will license their ACEnic-100 based CSR to be mass produced in India.

It would be great to hear how Ethernity are managing global distribution. I suspect that TietoEVRY and Ethernity are developing a go to market Asia strategy. I would like to hear about a US relationship that opens up the North American Market. It is a very immature market compared to Korea and China but US too large to ignore.
I think that we are going to see solutions integrators calling the shots in China but the US they will want the larger OEMs to mix and match components. Some will definitely want a off the peg solution that they can customise.
I believe that globally 2021 will see between 20000 and 50000 card sales from the 5G market. I think that Ethernity could secure up to 10% of that. If the big three shortlist ACEnic-100 then the percentage will increase substantially. However we need to be aware that sales will start very small.

The major players will no doubt build fpga based appliances. They want to deliver end to end systems. The appliances will fit within their portfolio. SmartNIC driven virtual solutions are a part of the overall solution. The point of open is to select the best element at each stage.
Integrators and OEMs operate in local markets. They have local brand recognition and history of delivery. They have a huge advantage and often like in China and India they are pushing hard for local manufacturing often making it a stipulation.
Yes global brands will come up with end to end solutions they may even sell just one element but I don't think that many integrators and OEMs will be manufacturing Intel licenced solutions.
In India they will not be buying from a tiny Israeli company but from a local trusted OEM no doubt with millions of units behind them. These are established relationships.
Now if ethernity grab 1% of the potential the share price will be in pounds. 3-5% and it will be double figures.

I don't believe that the Indian deal was in the 2000 expectation. The CSR product is in a huge current market. Most of what Ethernity does is future market. Reading the Indian deal release again it opens the door to huge volume and assuming the OEM has reach into the existing Telecom it could produce substantial returns.
The figures announced we for existing tenders, India are in the early stages of a tech revolution. Much is government driven and they will only be shopping amongst Indian OEMs.

I go with Ethernity estimate of 2000 next year and exponential growth year on year. Nearly all the sales will be in H2. I think that it's very realistic to go from 2000 to 40000 21-22.
However since the estimation Ethernity has realised two new markets that will be hungry for cards.
We need to understand that this is not even in its infancy yet. In fact it is not even born yet. However once it has it will grow rapidly. New markets will join China. I think in 3 years China will be a mega market. Equal to the sum of the rest of the world.
Testing of concept is underway now. Mass deployment will likely start middle of next year. What we need to hear about now is how many horses we have in this race.
I don't fear the big players and their vanilla offerings.

Much depends if and when they want the options filled as to how hard they push the market.

Ethernity are very much part of the testing and will be making adaptions through the process to meet parameters. Tuning performance down and up to meet the defined performance criteria.
Ethernity working through partners and third parties allows for global coverage with very little investment. They could not possibly achieve mass sales without this model.
There have been no SmartNIC installations or sales to anybody in relation to 5G that I am aware of. Current installations are using 2 dimensional vanilla NICs. Mass deployment starts next year. Base stations are constructed and I am sure that they are networked however they are simply a radio link into the network. However this won't cut it for 5G. It is simply a faster 4G.
5G requires a SmartNIC at the UPF it requires multiple SmartNICs in the CU and DU. It requires compute in the connection. It requires flow and routing or all the compute us used for these functions.
I have said it before there are no 5G connections currently outside of test scenarios. There are just 5G speed connections. The more users the less speed. However to solve latency and bandwidth Telecom needs to invest in a scalable UPF. Ethernity has one ready to go. Multiple vendors will be using ACEnic-100 to make their own. Ethernity will access multiple markets in bit parts for very little work and cost.
It is absolutely certain that Ethernity will not sell any cards until the market is ready to deploy. Currently they are scoping solutions and using design kit to produce scenario responses.
I don't think that we can be too hard on David Levi for not flagging sales. In fact I don't want to know as we'll see only a few thousand cards in the first 12 months. What I do want to know is how many OEMs are producing solutions using Ethernity kit and design.

The politics is about the network providers. Ethernity are not playing in that game.
Ethernity play all sides as we have just seen in India. Kit will be manufactured in Country by industry leaders in that Country. They will just use Ethernity products which they will either produce under licence or import as a white box to brand a build on.
Ethernity are playing both sides of the China India tension. They are deploying in Russia and have installations in the USA.
They have global strategic partners in Europe and China. Both have substantial footprints in China and are actively engaged. TietoEVRY has a global go to market strategy that they share with Ethernity a company worth less than TietoEVRY turnover in half a day.

Worth reading again as some big base station numbers. The big three also mentioned as network providers. Mobile operators connecting to this network will need to optimise performance when adding volume.

Ethernity are a tiny part of the tests. We know that ACEnic-100 is a class leader and it is not being tested. What is being tested are the OEM products that contain ACEnic-100. The performance from the test will determine the parameters of each product. Ethernity have many different card options with the ACEnic-100 and these will fit the multiple scenarios. So it is not ethernity that are being tested. Hopefully several OEMs using ACEnic-100 will prove to be within the expected defined boundaries.

The testing is not a pass or fail thing. The testing is not of ACEnic-100 it is of whole packages and interoperability. This will determine performance and application. ACEnic-100 is functioning in many installations with predictable results. This is very much a test of suitability for various applications.

It won't start until it starts. The market is looming but it is not here yet.

Dallo I don't think that there have been any contracts or sales in 5G routing and acceleration. There won't be until mass deployment starts and that won't be this year. Once testing is completed and OEMs win contracts we'll see sales. Until they need it they won't buy it.

This is cool. Ethernity could reduce this from 40 foot to 20 foot reducing the servers.

You have to wonder where they got the shares. Those rollovers never came back, I guess that we are not seeing the full picture

Markets open to Ethernity are now global. It is important that Ethernity secure serious alliances like TietoEVRY and FiberHome.

Note that Rakuten in Japan has now join the open alliance. Faced with going down the wrong route and being left in the cold they have joined.

Make no mistake Ericsson has accepted OpenRAN because they could not win Chinese contracts without it. Ericsson has picked up significant business in China supplying network equipment. However the Chinese only wanted the parts that they need. The days of end to end systems are gone and now service providers can shop around for the best products to complete their RAN. OEMs and integrators will pitch their collection of best in class components to service providers. Many will be using ACEnic-100, some will use Ethernity UPF and some others will use elements and build parts themselves.
Sales will come through OEMs and integrators.
Ethernity will also access the market through Fiberhome and TietoEVRY

Whilst many see 5G as just a faster Internet connection it is really nothing of the sort. 5G mobile Internet access will be a small part of the potential. Devices and private networks will be where real difference is between 4+ and 5th generation. By volume I suspect by year 5 we will see ten times the devices to mobile phone. A car park could have hundreds and street many more. Cars, boats, factories, delivery vehicles and thousands of potential applications for sensors. These individual data streams will need to be connected via RAN into the network. Now consider the edge, these time critical functions need super low latency so the data centre migrates to the customer in the form of small data bundles. So now we have a real mess. Ethernity sort that with ACEnic-100 based solutions in the DU. The built in router sends data to the right location the quickest route.
I know that it is hard to understand given the share price but Ethernity are leaders in this area of business. It is just at the moment this area is very small. That's about to change. We have seen the big players introducing solutions so we know that it will be a substantial market. Ethernity are very well placed and I am sure that they have many integrators and OEMs developing products using ACEnic-100 as the SmartNIC within their solution

Tier 1 is about the function that they perform. Peer to peer. So connecting network provider to a network vendor. So this maybe Ericsson, Nokia or others being connected to a mobile operator. Tier 2 is that operator connecting to the end user or other distributors in the RAN.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 will become somewhat confused because the stages will overlap often. An example is a service provider may supply an IoT product to a factory or a fishing fleet or a farm. The vendor will use products to build the system from many small suppliers like Ethernity. This maybe a fiber connection directly into the network or simply an extension or existing RAN capacity.
The deciding factors are performance (especially latency), cost, geography and security amongst others. This will determine if it is a private network or simply part of something else.
Ethernity will be part of this type of scenario for sure. Third parties will use ACEnic-100 in their solutions. It is a top SmartNIC and by all accounts well priced.
