UPF is certainly where the focus will be for sales initially as many were not seeing the router on the nic opportunity to save capex. This is a new way of doing it. It will take time for OEMs to adopt but scaling up costs will soon become a talking point once mass deployment starts. The SmartNIC is obviously not unique but it is one of the highest performing NICs but the router configuration is definitely a leader

I have given it long enough, no takers. So nobody noticed the fpga on the centralized unit in Brians schematic. Ethernity must be developing a CU product or why else would it be there. Instead of a ACEnic-100 fuelled UPF the process now requires 3 or in fact multiple ACEnic-100 units running different functions DU/CU and UPF.
The DU and CU will both use NICs in current models but Ethernity are proposing a SmartNIC with several processes becoming virtual or integrated. Open is about breaking the process down into sections and supercharging each element. Ethernity are joining functions then supercharging the functions as a integrated solution.
I guess that we'll get the centralized solution released soon.
I anticipated these innovations and expected them next year when volume will build into mass deployment.

The trials will not be a test of the ACEnic-100 or the code that's already tested out. It will be a test of interoperability with other components. I am assuming that the testing you refer to are the three Chinese Telecom giants.
Don't forget that a Chinese OEM has produced a product using ACEnic-100 and has delivered this to
Service providers for testing Q4.
The big thing though is the joint VPP based UPF product with TietoEVRY. This is with two vendors for testing and two global strategic partners (of TietoEVRY). TietoEVRY are massive and have huge reach, who might their global strategic partners be coming from the Nordic region? They also have huge presence in China. Ethernity and TietoEVRY are collaborating on a 2021 go to market strategy.
Don't forget that the alliance with Fiberhome has grown from the FitBNG to a co-produced UPF. Fiberhome are again massive and have true reach.

This innovation is the next step in the process and a natural progression. Fpga in the distribution unit is a relatively new. The DU has used NICs but not programmable SmartNICs. Certainly a router on a nic is a very new unique feature.
We'll see other functions in the core where SmartNICs will increase performance.

I suspect that each Telecom will pass several solutions for their RAN. Ethernity could have components in more than one. They would be crazy to go with one vendor as they don't know how this will pan out. Ethernity thinks well ahead of the curve and anticipates the problems others will have. Up to now it has been largely wasted because it hasn't coincided with demand. The product then evolves further with no sales. The deployments are now very near term.
Ethernity need to get on as many approved supplier lists as possible.
Sales will flow through OEMs. Ethernity need as many as possible. I know that they won't announce individual engagements but the market needs a blanket multiple engagement update.
Opsec will still be a thing but it will all be public soon in China.

Several problems in one product with many applications

Ethernity are deeper in than that. The process is in about 30 stages and the radio equipment is towards the end. Ethernity are in the compute. How the information is sent is further down the process.

I don't know how that is going to happen at the moment. Ethernity has disclosed some major alliances with companies working in billions not millions. We have seen connections with major Chinese Telecom. That for me was enough to join the dots.
It seems others either can't see the dots, aren't looking for them or waiting for someone else to join them.
This is a mega market but it will take 10 years to grow. It will start small and grow exponentially year on year. Ethernity are doing the same.
I believe that people will only catch on once Ethernity show or indicate looming profit. Between now and then it's just words. Investors are arriving in the sector for sure but most don't know what they see.
I don't anticipate any contracts with figures attached now. I want to see more OEM engagement with OEMs using ACEnic-100 and Ethernity virtual platforms to make their products. Big OEMs with regional market reach.

The problem we have is that many investors don't understand the market Ethernity has access to. They cannot see how huge it is. I suspect many think that Ethernity will be part of a few funny build private networks and that will be it. That's just not right the building of the network is nothing compared to the challenge of the RAN. So if China Mobile want to connect users to the fiber network and sell mobile access to business and public they will need equipment similar to Ethernity networks to make that happen in a efficient and cost effective way. Without Ethernity or similar they simply cannot do it. They are delegating whole parts of the solution to companies like Fiberhome and TietoEVRY to come up with the solutions. Fiberhome and TietoEVRY are using Ethernity kit as part of their solution. Ethernity will be involved in the core if the market in the core of the system.
The challenge is voicing that message. I fear that it will only be a solid flow if sales through OEMs that demonstrates that.

Ethernity are concerned in the conversion of fiber data flow to the RAN. The RAN is the wireless side. Data flow on the wireless side doesn't readily flow onto the fiber side without rationalisation. Many aspects of the RAN are about security and continuity of data. Imagine if the mobile signal moves from one tower to another and the connection is not handed over from the same data point. Duplication and missing information makes it nonsense. The kit includes counters to ensure seamless flow from one location to another. This is managed by virtual platforms in Ethernity's world. In the world of old school OEMs it is boxes with wires. Ethernity have systems that are reprogramming on the fly.

So BT provide the network to which all if this will connect. It is interoperable and built from products from many different suppliers. Nobody supplies the complete cake just all the ingredients and the baker (system designer, integrator) blends them together.

01234 BT open is a provider of 5G, they are using largely Ericsson kit. It's an open platform. BT open will not use Ethernity kit unless Ericsson do however if say Rolls Royce want to build a 5G enabled manufacturing process they will use a developer or integrator to design and build appropriate capacity to connect to a BT open private network. That developer or integrator will use OEM kit to build that access to the BT open network on RAN. The alternative is thousands of fiber wires which is nuts as it is slower than RAN. The OEMs will build their products using Ethernity SmartNICs.

Already I don't see how. We have seen one on Everest, one on the moon but these are just showcase gimmicks.
Connecting a couple of users to a network and achieving 5G speed is not hard and has been done in South Korea for several years now. However these private networks won't be small, there will be thousands of devices on the smallest a many more on larger networks.
We can expect major telecom to take most of these networks but major Telecom are Ethernity marketplace. The network access will be mainly open.

We can expect many of these probably more than a million globally. The majority will be open in my opinion. Whilst investors focus on the major players it is the smaller providers that have the biggest leverage.
Ethernity income should increase x 100 over the next couple of years. The share price will follow.

With the major network providers now opening connection to their network Ethernity has a huge opportunity to engage OEMs to use Ethernity in their solutions. I hope that process is well advanced. I suspect that we'll get an indication soon within an update.

True. I can currently sell 100k at 17.3 online offer. I think that we can see where the MMs sit on this.
