Also I worked as an auditor for Deloitte for a number of years, including some large accounts. That and other experiences of running large programmes of work taught me early on not to take people’s reports at face value without digging deeper. So that is why you probably see me as too cynical.

The raising of cash could be;

1. An offer in which Royalty/Zeus take part with a decent discount for current holders

2. A licence deal with Novartis or other pharmaceutical

But CC targets end of year for enough data to be available to support a deal. In the unlikely event a deal comes before then I would be happy anyway.

And to think how roundly I have been abused in the past for daring to suggest that large organisations can often be open to the vagaries of vested interests. Probably by people who have never worked in or with large organisations.

As I keep saying: it’s a race between needing cash and the publication of excellent P1b results. Though the market’s weak reaction to latest trial news is concerning.

So unless Avacta publish truly excellent trial results prior to, or at the same time as the offer, then experience and history tells me that the offer will be at a discount not a premium. They will want to raise a fair amount of cash in the offer to see us through at least 18 months I would guess. And share dilution will be a very minor secondary concern. IMHO of course.

It’s not about respecting Avacta and what they are doing. It’s about forming a well reasoned assessment of the shares as an investment.

It also depends on how many shares you hold at the moment. Rampers bang o about the risk of being out when a deal drops (even though CC sees this as some way off). But I already have too many shares anyway so I won’t miss out if there is sudden food news. my tactic now is to wait to buy shares at a discount in the coming offer. Do you honestly think that if large investors aren’t buying at 32p then they will suddenly buy for 27p in an offer. Most recent offer was at a huge discount and I really don’t see that this one will be any different.

I pointed out this potential issue this time last year when the marvels of AVA6103 were being trumpeted. And of course was widely abused.
