No wonder there is not much traffic on the site.

I am expecting changes to commence up here, starting with a weakening of the DUP in the Polls - we would be voting for Fine Gael if Garret was still around, but as it is we will probably go with Alliance, even though their leader does not look fit enough to trot across the road.

The mood up here is quite easy to read, let's see if it transfers into votes.

Just on my way in to what they call here "The Chapel" for 3.0'clock - once I have tidied myself up and trimmed the whiskers the Colleen and I will walk in which takes about fifteen minutes.
I think that our share and City sentiment is reacting to the latest stay in the crawl to the edge of the Abyss, although one of my principal suppliers Dudsons, went into liquidation last week giving only one days notice to the remainder of its workforce which was already reduced by about 60% from the days before my retirement.
And still they claim that the country will rise like the Pheonix from the ashes that remain - Dudgeons were a very smart operation and financially very astute - this liquidation did not happen by accident and was not due to them devaluing their product. Two hundred years of good employment gone for good - it will never be replaced.

I am keeping the faith - I've just sent the Colleen into town to light another candle - I'm dressing the lawn.

Thank goodness it is now Spring and Summertime is in operation which allows me to decompress after five days in charge "with the Colleen," of our two grandchildren. Their Mother and Father spent a long weekend in La Rochelle leaving us in charge - "we are beginning to feel a bit more relaxed each day," as I introduce my new lawn mower to the grass.
What we need now - particularly here - is a General Election, to sweep away a lot of the dead wood, followed by a referendum, now that the electorate has had the chance to sift through some of the WOFFLE being presented in the media.
It should also be stated that this time the government means it - that the wishes expressed by the electorate will decide the future course for the country - boy I'm glad that I have escaped.

A long overdue Referendum with a lot of the downside discussed, for the benefit of the many thousands or millions who love to disgrace the country in the Stag and Hen resorts abroad, but yet voted for Brexit.
When the result is declared it should be followed by a general election based on Proportional Representation which has worked so well in Germany and Ireland for years.
If there is any justice, much of the dead wood will be burned in process by a large turnout - I dream of 80% - which will hopefully restore a government to the UK before it becomes uninhabitable.

Finally it has dawned on the political class that doing nothing is not an option - BREXIT IS REAL - BUT IS BASED ON A PACK OF LIES.
What is really driving this can only be guessed at but there is something murky going on in the background which was first advanced by DAVE "before he took a powder." Britain cast adrift would quite quickly turn into a "cooly economy" over quite large parts of the country, as the people who voted for Brexit paid for their folly with their jobs in many cases.
The restoration of the glory days is only a dream and a pretty bad one at that - the Conservatives and their long held belief that they can, at best "only manage decline" have hastened it with their self fulfilling prophesy.
Their insistence on continually selling off the country's assets and with it the technology, to anyone who turned up to the auction, is now going to become quite plain to see - if they are now decided that they must grow the economy in order to create employment.
With no interest earned when money is loaned and no profit made when it is invested, people are not going to be queuing up to push money into the market, because the companies are either foreign owned and repatriate their profits OR are domiciled in a tax haven or a lightly regulated entity like Jersey.
Free money has got us nowhere, now as it starts to dry up, the signs of distress are beginning to appear in many places and businesses - where they have been left wallowing in debt which lined the pockets of the few at the expense of everyone else.
Our politicians have presided over this tragic state of affairs, when they should have understood or tried to, what was happening.
Now they are doing a "Pilate" on it - washing their hands like the DUP - except that today they are seeking to create the illusion that they are looking for a solution where none exists - if it did, they would have been found by now. No they are all too busy giving interviews and in the case of Boris giving fee generating lectures and generally lining his pocket.He is not the only one, I am not talking about the man in North Antrim, because that is what is expected of him by his constituents.

It is no surprise to me that share prices have become volatile OR that investors may be losing the will to live - this evenings fiasco in Downing Street, which followed a very unsavoury Question Time late morning would make anybody wonder what is going on.
If we were living in Zimbabwe, I would say fair enough, because that has been made deliberately into a basket case.Was nothing learned in the seventy's during The Miners Strike amongst the many other disputes that did so much to destroy useful and gainful employment in the UK economy.
What we are witnessing in Westminster cannot be explained away by saying "Oh their all on Magic Mushrooms" - if only it was that simple we could probably manage a cure, because I am not ready YET to believe completely what is happening.
I keep expecting to wake up one morning to the announcement that the Queen has dissolved Parliament and is introducing Direct Rule for five years - so that a new generation of politicians can be put through the Eleven Plus and serve a three year supervised apprenticeship in the Public Service after which, those that have survived the experience will be interviewed as potential candidates for a new parliament operating on a Proportional Representation basis.
This being the only way that order might be restored to the country's political representation which currently allows eighteen million "Mistaken Voters" (Numpty's) to wag the tail on a near seventy million population bearing in mind that the original proposition was never deliverable.

Why are shares falling or crumbling indeed !!! All I can do is light candles !!!

Must be circulating in the alternative economy which is very much alive up here and always thrived south of the border.

Since we dropped our anchor here last year, I have been amazed at the way people here seem able to live and the cars that they all drive are in much better shape than you would see in the West Country except for those being lease purchased by people with businesses - bit like renting them. You hit a bump in the road financially and they don't even leave you with a bike.

They talk about contact less transactions on the telly but all they talk about here is CASH - none of the tradesmen that I have employed would entertain either a cheque or a debit card - in return they produce a receipt showing a lump sum payment - if you can get one from them.

HMRC here must be very busy or they are following the example set by the politicians here - "could work but wouldn't". Maybe it has now spread to the banking industry !!!!

The good news is that our share is now just about off the floor, The Speaker has decreed that Theresa may not drag the corpse of Brexit back into the Commons again and again - when it was dead the first time.

The bad news is the tragic loss of young lives yesterday in Cookstown and in Carlingford - the two young lads are both from here with strong local connections as is the young mother of three who apparently drowned in Carlingford Lough.

Given the normal rate of attrition at this time of year, with these tragedy's added, our parish priest is going to be very busy over the next few days - absolutely tragic. Takes the shine off yesterday......

Wonderful day and vigil mass first - because we were going to Belfast to join our grandsons and daughter.
Twelve beautiful girls kicked it off, step dancing on the altar which the whole church enjoyed - loud applause.
Yesterday we set off fairly early to see our boys swimming - bit of lunch - then steeped in the culture in the Rosario Centre on the Ormeau Road.
A big and good humoured crowd were entertained by the many talents living within the parish - singing,music, we even had a young girl playing the harp and of course lots of young dancers.
Couple of pints in "The Erigle" finished off a most enjoyable day - the best St Patricks Day I ever remember...

Trades to a large extent on its previous reputation, personal banking was required to be conducted on the basis of confidentiality - all cheques being returned to the signatory as confirmation of their transactions - "I remember it well."

Those days are gone, today the banks concentrate more and more of their time on "selling Financial Services" whatever they are. They are not usually of much use to their customers - "but hey, as long as they are earning a shilling".

Of much greater significance is the health of the real economy, which is best illustrated by the John Lewis bonus of 3%
their worst performance since 1953. It is a very well run company based on a very solid business model that has provided secure and good employment for years to all those who chose high street retail as a career with that company.

The next few days will be quite revealing I feel, as the water level rises in Westminster, much as a kettle comes to the boil.

Europe will not budge - why should it - this period will not be without its effect as the E R G waits for the E U to capitulate AND IT DOESN'T. Do they really think that twenty six countries in Europe will collectively submit to a crowd of sixth form bullies who are bluffing at best.

The UK leaves the EU - the rate at which the country continues to decline will accelerate, in line with conservative thinking and the way they have managed the economy over many years, selling off its assets one by one to anyone with money in their pocket. Reese-Mogg talks about a Vassal State - not quite yet - but it is almost a wholly owned subsidiary of a number of countries now - except for The City.

Brexit goes ahead - The City will also suffer - losing at least 20% of itself I think, this could be a conservative estimate. The boys over here will carry on marching to their BIG DRUM unless it breaks, as their uniforms fade and the buttons drop off etc etc.

Todays developments are almost beyond belief - yes the next few days will tell us a lot.

When have the Conservatives do anything constructive towards furthering the peace process "and building THE PEACE."
