If you plot a comparison graph of Centamin, HoC and Shanta Gold over the last 3 months, you will find a correlation up to 18 December. Centamin and HoC have retreated to where they were on 20th November and around that time Shanta was 11.25p. Comparison graphs can be created on the Hargreaves and Lansdown site.

It has to be a superior offer at 14.85p otherwise the Saturn Acquisition proposal still goes to a vote. The Board has the power to reject the 14p offer from company X. My guess is that such an event, it may result in Shanta taking out a loan to pay out a higher dividend so as to secure the votes to get what the Board wants and diffuse a lot of grievances. I suspect we may not get told of 14p offers unless the offeree identified their bid to the media. If someone was serious they would just give the superior offer and everything else that had to go with it. If we get no other offers by 31st January we do have to ask ourselves what is really go in this market for gold miners to be so undervalued. The issue is not just with Shanta. The major share holders would certainly not have a detailed discussion with a 4% shareholder.

The fund is quite capable of deciding its own risk assessment in balancing its continued risk with HZM. A lot of HZM PI holders have probably overweighted particular stock positions elsewhere in their portfolio. Once those positions deliver a good profit some PIs sell those assets with some HZM against a gain and end up in the TR1 like position seen last night. Whatever then arises is against a smaller held position.

The superior offer as mentioned in the annex of the RNS on 20th December gives 10% above 13.5p which is 14.85p as the level that the board would support and seek withdrawal by Saturn on its acquisition offer.

The fund in question I think had a big holding in TUI that shot up 45% odd in November.

The TR1 wrote off the July 2024 equity swap. It recognises the delay in the mine completion. They have not sold the other equity swaps. This is a $2.25B fund. the fund I believe has done well in 2023 in other respects. They may have written off some loss against profits.

Although an acquisition proposal is on the table, the company is not officially gone private although some media comment has made it out to be so. Governance requirements still apply. We should have the Q4 results by fourth week of January.

George has explained the delay as reiteration improvement. It is not some calamity made out by some people here. Rainbow is a strong buy at this time.

The drilling results are another advert for another bid to arrive. The key question is if another competitor is going to make an offer. If the Q4 results are good it would be another advert of come and get me. We still may get a bid, I was hoping by now someone would at least report they were looking into Shanta Gold.

This will be bad for everything tomorrow bar bitcoin ETFs and bitcoin. Chairman of SEC does not support the product despite having to approve as a security. Bloomberg report that the ETF can not be shorted properly for 3 months. The ETFs have to acquire the bitcoins on the open market so the price rockets. The SEC can not guarantee the ETF will be manipulated by fraudulent activity. Only in America is what I can say. This could be the biggest market mess anybody created. We shall find out for sure in the afternoon. I hope I am wrong but it could suck a lot of liquidity out of the stock markets.
