Looks good on the surface but it's going to need a bit of analysis. Gross earnings at 6.67 and revenue at 25.4 - Are they including the placement money under revenue etc ? Looks like they've won't need to borrow, or at least not imminently which is the main worry. I'm sure better analysts than me will get most the meat off the bone

I agree Pokerchips. Cash in the bank means everything at the moment. No one will be extending debt and if anyone does it will be on awful terms so WG. are in a strong position for the rebound. As you say oil is bottoming out so you'd expect the closing of shorts to give it an extra spur.

I will have a look at WEIR too. Sounds like a smilar profile because John Wood was a really strong performer on the rebound last crash too so no reason why it won't perform in the same way this time round. Not ex divi date is 16th April and with the conversion rates as they are it will be 20p per 100 shares. That's a yield of >13%. They could still pull it but these types of companies generally cough up. I realise they mark down on ex divi date but if i'm seeing the high yield others will be looking at it too so a possible run to 185/86 on the run up.

Yes JLP RNS looked ok to me. The SP was looking very frail this morning though - I expect it's just the lockdown woes which will pass.

That's a dividend yield of >13% from these prices. Very nice, although I appreciate it will be marked down on ex divi date. Hopefully a run beforehand. Did the skip or reduce the divi's during the financial crash Aucuba because oil was trading at similar levels then and would have had a similar knock on effect against the sector.

They have a lot of cash reserves so they may well pay. Good divi yield at these lowly prices and even better with the dollar so strong.

The broker price target was a reduction in target price of course, don't want to mislead but rated a buy at these levels.

They have nearly 2 billion quid in the bank which more or less reflects the market cap. They won't be going bust.

Hi Pokerchips - Yeah, there won't be many divi's around this year. When is the ex-divi date out of interest ?

Just had a punt on John Wood Group (WG.) - Oil and gas sector equipment. Quality company and at the moment if I get left holding a baby I want it to at least be pretty. Bought at a shade under £1.50 with a price target of £1.85. What do you reckon? Missed the rise this morning but it's also got a broker target of 300p out today so may have the legs to get up to the 180s

I have to keep reminding myself to be more patient. There will be plenty of opportunities here there and everywhere for would be buyers over the coming year. In Autumn we can all look forward to the prospect of a nod deal brexit (remember eons ago when that was a major headline) to put the wind up the market.

I took break even here. Don't like the look of it today in comparison with everything else and the SA lock down won't do JLP any favours short term (not a problem on a wider horizon imo).

Anyhow you can all enjoy a sterling rise this afternoon now i'm 100% out again.

Indices turning positve so maybe a little afternoon rally forming...fighting the tide imo but i ve just had a small punt here at 2.025. Still think 1.8p is a really possibility. Let's see how it goes.

On Friday - There will be more until this unravels - Don't forget to take your profits will be the mantra for the next few months.

Well said Kalan . I'm looking at BHP too for later down the road (a rare aim oiler that has actually built a business) for later down the road. No price targets yet and sitting out the rest of this week.

Kalan and Jonah. I'm 51 and have a 5 and 3 year old. I don't consider myself old - I'm fit and healthy. I'm also totally wiped out by the end of the day. When I'm you're age Kalan i'll have a 13 and 11 year old to contend with. All good though. Wouldn't change a thing though and thankfully had a very full and adventurous life before I had kids. As you can't imagine I firmly fall into the category of 'don't get out much' haha

Yes Bluebelly. Good rally, well played anyone who stayed in the last couple of days. Nice uplift. looks like JLP is ranging between 2p and 2.5p for now. The late friday sell off is usually a precursor for a continuation on Monday so will be interesting to see what happens later in the day

I agree, assuming there isn't anything unsavoury in the interims that this would have been a good day to release them. Who knows, they still might !

Afternoon Kalan - Hope you are well

I'm looking at little else but historic lows at the moment for short term trades. I have CEY at 80ish p as a strong trade if it comes to me (I've been in and out of CEY along with the world and his dog for 15 years so I think the 70p is stuck in my head from a very long time ago) and the supermarkets Sainsbury's @ 1.80, Morrisons at 1.65 and Tescos (least appealing) at 2.15. They are definitely not sweating it at the moment !...It's simplistic but I think those lows will come into range if the indices continue as they are. Might be trades for early next week but they come along at any time with current volatility.

Thanks BB. All profits welcome these days ! - Everyone is really on edge. Regarding the FTSE 100. 4500 is much mooted but the market could capitulate if this drags on too long. Then 4000ish and a very, very solid 3500 - That's the worse case scenario imo but i'm both bearish and out practically everything so bound to be displaying a bias ! Best of luck to you too
