I echo Dogstar sentiments. It all boils down to your pesonal goals of achieving financial security and in what path like Dstar has mentioned. Swing trader / LTH = wants say 5% a year return with little or no intervention in the markets. Maybe Indices, ETF's are your best bet. pick instruments that you see will have either a bullish or bearish swing (some form of education or guidance is IMO needed)
Day trader = as above but you open close positions on a daily basis. taking small profits sometimes large but also losses on a regular basis.
combination of all 3. each of these methods require imo rules that allow you to get in and out of a setup. risk, money management, patience, sometimes nerves of steel. no FOMO (there will always be opportunities - ALWAYS!)

Oh dear Canary. again you fail to read the post carefully. I said I post mainly a shorting position. That does not mean I hold any short positions.
And even if i did hold a short position from say 33.5p and it reaches the 29p or even lower. I have made my target and a nice profit. you're point being is what?
To those who are long term investors and were considering buying more at 30p my previous post that the SP could go lower should at least get their attention and think wll maybe I can buy in at a lower price. So my post is not to influence shorint but to provide an opinion that there is a possibility to buy more at a lower price than they would of accepted.

Since i do post mostly a shorting position, thats due to my neagtive outlook of TLW. I will now give an opposing opinion.
So pls do read and pay attention:
If the SP bounces off the 52EMA of 29.50 -30p range then retest the MAJOR resistance of 33.5 - 35p and closes the day / week above on a good green candle pattern. Then I see it retest the previous 1st spike 37.5p then on to mid 41p then 'POSSIBLY' retest the 0.272 of the Fib 43+p which is in line with my top of the channel trend line.

You base your decisions on RNS, Fundamentals (conjecture). Everyone of us take a gamble...simple as that. My goals are different to you...I've gone long on this share as well as short. 'IF' it does reach those targets then maybe I'll end up going LONG as I too see potential but for the LONG TERM (like yourself). So don't get your knickers in a twist when someone thinks that the SP is going to go down...It's like all these posters saying this should be at 40,50, 80, 90p. No one takes it to heart or gives a schit!

2nd target 27p

@valhalla, You would think with what's been happening at Capitol Building that the DXY would be tanking as no one likes instability especially coming from the U.S. but the $ actually rose a bit, which 'generally' isn't good for OIL.
Now that the US Congress has formally confirmed Biden as the winner. It's up to Trump now to stick to his word that he will promise an 'Orderly transition'.
I have the $ to peg a little lower which will help raise BRENT ( i have targets of $58-60 for the next monthly contracts) then retrace back to $49-52. of course this is just my opinion doesn't mean it's going to happen and even if it did reach my targets I dont have a crystal ball of a timeline. 'Who DOES!!?

I family know all too well about trying to stay afloat as I and my partner have our own businesses. (Which she works in the beauty busines which has been knocked sideways, evevn though they have strict cleansing methods as well as follow other guidelines- unlike queuing outside Primark within 2 inches of each other just so they can get their clothing fix.
So would you say the spanish flu was seasonal since it also appeared at the end of the WW1 in the harshest of winters. That lasted for 3 waves. A Gov minister also gave the then PM advice to stay isolated, wash frequently. PCR tests have come along way from their intended use, hence my commnet that PCR, LFT, Anti body tests all have their Por's & Cons. ( I do wish people would readd carefully before making assinine comments)

And above all I do not listen to BBC as my sole source of news. I read other sources as I have mentioned in my post the BMJ. Which i think is far more credible than the BBC when it comes to medical facts. Hell I even worked for the NHS (not in any Medical capcity i may add). My involvement with Path labs & Infection control was an eye opener to say the least.

the tests are as legit as the person conducting them and the type of test being performed. So if you're saying that the numbers are disproportionaly high then I would agree with you. PCR, LFT and Anti-body tests all have their pros/cons.
I read an article on the BMJ that when non-trained people conducting PCR tests the accuracy was just over 50% whereas a trained medical person was well over 80%.

So for the Government to propose teachers to start testing secondary school pupils without adequate training is just going to muddy the waters (stats) even further.

Tiers mean jack$h!t, adding a 5th Tier will do nothing if the population just ignores the rules. Why do you think the new strain is spreading across other parts of the UK! Bc selfish idiots think it's ok to venture out of their tier 4 to go for a meal or meet friends or do Christmas shopping.

personally the Uk should of shut it's borders at the first whiff of the virus to contain it. Then implement more draconian measures. UK is an Island it had the best form of defense already! All it had to do was close it's borders like other Island nations who have managed to contain and deal with the virus better.
