The other bit that was new was hoping to sign the deal by the end of the year - so Q3 has now slipped to Q4 officially.

I had in my head that we might get to keep 30% in exchange for a free carry. Listening to Majid now and adding 1 + 1 and coming up with 3 - we could
End up keeping more than 30%.

I3e have already responded to GGG by email with the same answer and probably with more detail - but he’s not having it - he’s already said here that he thinks there talking BS.

I put in the question so posters could hear first hand - the explanation was perfectly sensible to me.

Remember what happened with the loan notes when you don’t meet debt conditions and Senior Lenders decide to hold your feet to the fire.

Fairly decent presentation - let’s see whether we get any further broker recommendations off the back of it.

The Dividend is pretty much as expected - it represents considerably more than 30% of free cash flow for the period so not the reason for the less than stellar SP performance that some were expecting this morning.

The clue was in the heading in WHI's report - "Solid" - had the results met or exceeded WHI's expectations then presumably they would have used the word "excellent".

Pull up WHI's report dated the 27th August and compare the table on page 1 to the table on page 1 of todays report. Notice any difference in the forecast for FCF and Dividends for 2021 & 2022 ?

Get your questions in for todays meeting - maybe one of them should be on costs (particularly G&A ) and ask do they have a handle on costs and how they compare to their peer group.

I think the results highlight that i3e were probably right to finance Cenovus with equity rather than debt !

Solid results but not spectacular - also Cenovus was post period so expect significantly better results and dividend in the next report.

about 70% of i3e's Gas (pre- deal) was hedged i.e. the equivalent of about 3500 boepd. Non of the Cenovous production was hedged. i3e's current policy is to hedge up to 70% of gas production so you can expect addition hedges or swaps after October. However, they will be at significantly higher prices which will have a material impact on FCF.

You beat me to it - I was going to post the link. Its worth checking the numbers to see whether the guy on CEO has got it right and whether KELT is a good barometer for i3e. Based on his analysis it is but i'm going to check the numbers for myself.

I've also attached the link to one of Eric Nuttals charts that has KELT pegged at EV/CF = 4.1. I calculate i3e at around 2 which would indicate that KELT is valued x2 on this metric. I need to check the debt to see whether this translates to market cap.

following response from Metal Monkey on the CEO website that may be of interest to some - the question was is the well being "fracked" and how long does it take. If you recall i3e stated in the last update that drilling had been completed and that "stimulation" of the well and completions were about to commence:

@Metalmonkey Hey there @tonynorstrom, yes, the formation is tight, near fully cemented dirty small particle sand from an old river discharge… quite low permeability so the wells need a multistage frac job. It usually takes 3-5 days of actual work and 2 to 3 weeks of waiting for material/people/equipment to show up in the proper sequence to get the pre-completion/stimulation/final completion work done. It’s kind of a real cluster f* unless your doing a bunch of wells at once and you have dedicated resources that aren’t jumping company to company working on multiple jobs in the region.

SP looking strong - could it be that the fears that the SP would be stuck at the placing price (11p) for quite some were a little overblown ?

I have sent i3e an email to ask whether i3e have a peer list to compare i3e against for valuation purposes. I may not get an answer as i'm sure their pretty busy - hell if Malcy is unable to get an interview - what chance have I got with an email !

I would not be surprised if we got an RNS today or tomorrow providing an update for further discussion in Mondays webcast - lets see.

Normally I would say yes only he hasn't said as far as I can recall who the Canadian Peers he is measuring against are - so In the absence of data I would say no.

I would also say that a lot has happened in the last 6 months with the oil price etc so that Companies that looked like basket cases 6 months ago with high debt have now significantly deleveraged and are looking much more attractive on all metrics.

So the best metrics in my view is the charts etc provided for the 12-15 companies that Eric Nuttall from Ninepoint Capital is following. The data is independent, has been screened and presumably represent the best in class

I agree with most of what you have written - I don't think FCF is the issue - I think with the data we have we can make a pretty good approximation - FCF is going to be good, that's not the problem, it it the multiple that the market assigns to the FCF to determine the SP that is the issue. If you own a Mark I Ford Escort that’s valued at £2000 but is only selling in the market at £1000 is it really worth £2000.

The whole Oil & Gas Market is significantly undervalued particularly in Canada - so this all needs to be factored in when trying to determine a target price for i3e. With TSSZ – I’m just asking to justify the comments otherwise it’s just pumping which is of little value and can potentially mislead fellow posters.

Having said all this – I do think that i3e is “undervalued” and holders her should do very well.

To figure out profit per barrel - you need to make sure you account for all significant costs - this is what intelligent posters will know - not the rubbish you post. What about G&A for a start or does your Management Team work for free out of tents on Wimbledon Common?
