Hello LTI/Chianti.. Thanks for that info. I am glad that I made that purchase last week. I thought that I had reached the end of buys but all the information that I collated at the time pointed me to buy. I know we are going into the IoT era possibly but all the big work has been done on meters and several good sized contracts are waiting to go through, hopefully. We have sat it out this long a few more months will not hurt.

So there we have it from Colour. not all the new batch of meters will have RF inside them, especially ' CC Inside '. May be we will learn a bit more during the week. I wish I liked going to football ( West Ham ). .

I do not think its me thats hooked Colour. I will open to the BB are there areas in this country and likewise India where there is no signal or unusable signal. Colour as you know a lot about Indian technicalities is this additional requirement from their Government for RF backup in next meters or am I wrong. Not interested in Permanently On just a connection.

Hello Colour. Thats bit short sighted of you. The Notspots cover in this country is for areas where you just do not get a signal at all or penetrating large buildings. You cannot walk around with a meter in your hand trying to find a signal. I may have said that before, LOL. May be I am missing the point here, is this new requirement for RF or not, have I got it wrong.

Hello Chianti. The reason for the question was that all SMETS2 will be fitted with CC but CC will only get paid for the ones that are activated. But if the new Indian requirement is for fallback then I would think that it has to be paid for up front which defeats the object of SIMS for cheapness. Is this the first sign that whereas SIMS are so called cheap as Colour says you have to have RF backup. I am sure Colour will correct any misconceptions on my part.

From the outset JC said that he would be pleased with small part of India, well Mysore and Mumbai is a reasonable start and the chance of IoT as well. Hello BST, is that 250m referred to for the whole of India. If so what percentage of this is related to EESL for they only cover the state/public companies and of that what % are going to be 'notspots', if UK has them the whole world has them. May be India for cheapness will just let them carry on without a meter. Perhaps Colour has some background on their dealing with 'notspots'. It would be interesting to know as CC is solely engaged in UK for this purpose therefore we are experts, LOL.
