Well jake I take it that you have watched the recent speech of JC when he turned to the rest of the panel and referred to their connection problems and said 'guess what' referring to new IoT link software. Do not forget he was directly addressing the big boys. You do not venture along that path unless you have got something they all need and are confident. What did you make of it. I understood he meant 'all software'.

What I can't understand Colour is I thought India had set up all these standards yet you say only the basic requirements are needed. Then EESL give the contract to an unknown company who promptly farms it out to unproven companies not even in the industry. This smacks of old India to me.

Overfiend, I have said in the past I put together facts that I have mustered, I am not a scientist. As I understand it there are still many breaks in security, mobile phones being prominent. So if encryption does not have to be the best what are they worried about. Although the energy sector just wants to flog electricity there is great concern about security. Electricity is now a main service in any country. Imagine losing power in war time, like blowing up petrol dumps. I'm inclined to agree with you. We have heard it all before but I think the problem is JC has been moving in the world of well off companies who can throw millions around not worrying if good or bad decisions. He has been doing his sales bit but most Eastern Countries are fly. As we have seen in India they can turn on a penny, take a sort term view regarding costs, cheap and cheerful, not worry about future costs, that is politics. JC is like a surfer, riding ahead of the wave which is making and breaking constantly, big companies sod around for years and make a bit at the end but CC has to strike lucky early. I do not know anything about lighting, if we can or cannot do it but I think we still stand a good chance with meters and IoT as long as our encryption is good.

Hello you two.. There is something afoot. Would not bother worrying about individual areas/countries. Nice to see results from any of them. To open week even shifting up slightly is a good sign. Whilst R&D is still costing, and possibly JC would not have left Arqiva had he foreseen the headaches ahead, this money has in the main been spent so we are now looking for a breakthrough could be this week/end of April.

Hello ITT.. Logic tells me that they are all buys looking at what if spread had not changed. So something is in the wind. Good news we hope. Keep an eye on what JC said about interoperability, with a slightly different twist. He said 'you ain't seen nothing yet' relating to IoT. All these big companies have grown up around smart but the bain of their lives was their individual software not being able to communicate with others. I think JC was forced to talk about his development prematurely because he did not have any other breaking news. If he has solved that particular problem CC could be very much in demand.

Possibly LTI has more detailed knowledge. The UK contracts could have up to 25% 'notspots' and they are struggling with that so the rest of the world must at present be in a similar position. Hopefully JC's adventures elsewhere will bear fruit.

Colour, with respect you trot out the same old rubbish.. The fact is during the boom period there was no logic but just looked good. With CC it may just be the reverse, product is good but just cannot get it underway. JST was obviously sold on it and probably still is. UK engineering still has some credence in India but as JC realises if you leave the door open too long some well off US company will step followed by USAid and grab the spoils. CC gets all the credits for innovation but has got to be nimble in getting contracts before the others. It may pay to tie up with a bigger co like Genus rather go it alone. Genus can always lease out afterwards like CC.
