Hello Vas.. Thanks for that, I think we all knew that SMETS2 had been rolled back into January so not a shock. The Government, or at least BEIS, thought they had sorted SMETS2.
I communicated with Shapps a couple of months back and drew his attention to CC which he was looking at.
As I see it the original committee set too many regs for Smart which they are now having second thoughts about but Government Depts grind slowly.
I am not in electronics but from my understanding there is not a need for DCC as CC is interoperable and can do the switching. In fact I believe DCC is the only one of its kind in the World, may be proved wrong, I don't think Mysore has a central clearing house just goes back to the utility.
I am going to be shot down on this one but as I see it put CC into every meter, especially with Advanced Omni for IoT, it could then switch frequencies between Utility Control Rooms obviating need for DCC and set up a dept in Ofgem to mediate any complaints, which should be few as the switch reading should be identical.
