An observation, any opinions.. We got an Indore contract in May for Smart Meters and HES.
The iamrenew mag said the 30,000 31st Oct tender required meters to integrated with existing HES.
If that is our HES other contractors are going on have problems matching up.
Whereas if not ours as we are interoperable we should not have problems
Is this the beginning of our Canopy System.

A possibility Colour but Smart will go ahead, primarily because the rest of the World seem to be able to cope.
It will now be a face saving exercise for Ministers and Civil Servants. The Arqiva North/Scotland contract is not attracting attention so is presumably succeeding. Their Wireless system is Tower based so is more expensive and would probably involve planning permissions etc. In the wireless/rf direction CC would be the logical choice especially as much of the connections are urban high rise buildings. True, it's all speculation and hopefully funding will be minimal.

Hi Vas.. The income is no doubt small at present but JC did mention its start in his broadcast.
I think the problem with SMETS2 is that it was not anticipated until SMETS(1) gave trouble. CC had no involvement with SMETS1 and the SMETS2 hiccups are probably nothing to do with us as the RF element is already proven in India.
The Government BEIS will have to decide how it is going to resolve situation but I think it will be knocking on CC's door.
If I am correct it's a bit ironic that the UK started smart and with the biggest requirement (58m meters) yet they cannot get their act together. For the Lords to start tabling motions of what if DCC defaults says it all to me. When they started having troubles they should have gone down the RF route with Southern and the Wireless (Arqiva) route for Northern.
Obviously the Governments blame game will fall on Telefonica/Toshiba's shoulders but CC could still save the day.

Hi Vas.. Just one more thought, Telegraph suggesting breaking news regarding SMETS2 roll out having started. We knew that already because JC said we had income arriving from contract in May. Probably small but starting.

Hello jake.. That's not the point, SMETS2 needs finishing touch, CC is part of the contract already so paperwork done.
In India there are other contenders but CC is already recognised in this field and is highly regarded, efficient, low cost and timely.
The work is already done on both occasions.

Hello Vas.. Thanks for that, I think we all knew that SMETS2 had been rolled back into January so not a shock. The Government, or at least BEIS, thought they had sorted SMETS2.
I communicated with Shapps a couple of months back and drew his attention to CC which he was looking at.
As I see it the original committee set too many regs for Smart which they are now having second thoughts about but Government Depts grind slowly.
I am not in electronics but from my understanding there is not a need for DCC as CC is interoperable and can do the switching. In fact I believe DCC is the only one of its kind in the World, may be proved wrong, I don't think Mysore has a central clearing house just goes back to the utility.
I am going to be shot down on this one but as I see it put CC into every meter, especially with Advanced Omni for IoT, it could then switch frequencies between Utility Control Rooms obviating need for DCC and set up a dept in Ofgem to mediate any complaints, which should be few as the switch reading should be identical.

Hello jake.. appreciated but I do not think you can relate to 2017 when things were very different. The change in circumstance started from May this year, advanced Omni, SMETS2 commenced, Mysore completed, new signing last month and several about to occur.
If I have any doubts it relates to SP falling for no realistic reason. Somebody mentioned old money before 1:200. We had situation of SP .30p>.28p>.26p>.22p>.20p >.18p. then JST made his massive investment which was said to be good and showed faith. To my mind it was SP being engineered down to suit a commitment already made of .18p.
Are we seeing the same again as no justification for current drop.

Well jake I go along with your line of thinking except that I have attended many meetings over the years, several CC and you tend to get the feeling between selling, disaster and growth. Everybody keeps talking about RNS funding, if though JC wants a lot for expansion what will be the thought. To me everything revolves around RNS's for contracts and deliveries. We have had fundings in the past but we are here again. That is again why we need to know what is coming in as well as what is going out on a monthly basis. The industry knows where CC stands it's only us that does not.

That's rubbish Colour and you know it. If it had been all sells today you would have said something like 'look they are all jumping ship'. Only when it suits you.
If you had been at the Presentation you would got the flavour of the moment but you did not, pity as you may not be so outspoken now.

Hello Rkk1. Well seriously I think you are ramping. We have had too many in the past. Unless you know to our advantage about senior personnel contracts why bother to ask, or is it just an introduction to a down beat. We have enough of them as you have just scene. My only criticism of JC is that he is slow to fill in the gaps.

There's a fair chance that all trades were buys yet SP falls. Other than maneuvering of SP the only possibility is big trades not yet flagged up. I suspect fiddling.

Nicely put Multi, always a good read. My interpretation of that is, as always, CC is on the way up very shortly but also over next 5 years. From an investors point of view there is a lot going for CC and I have always liked the thought of 'CC inside' for meters although with White Label being the exception.
Was hoping for the RNS this morning to concentrate minds.

You are right when you say that CC do RNS;s for small orders but that is primarily what they were achieving, however since May 18 and because they created Advanced Omni and as a result of Mysore completion CC's fortunes have changed and we are about to go to a plus balance sheet. Since May we have been receiving substantial income which could completely reverse funding or at least reduce it to purely expansion. That is what I am on about. Regards
