That about sums it up Imperial.. There wouldn't be much attraction to living off grid in UK though. Apart from solar, which would only part suffice, all others have some form of noise attached, so you would need to live on a farm with a barn if you did not want constant neighbour problems.
I have said this before but in my past life part of my brief was to plan for the unknown, not easy.
For convenience we need the Grid system but improved power stations. I had a plan which I put forward to a main Utility a few years back but it did not suit their disjointed approach because it meant they would have to rethink part of their operations.
The actual idea was clean, eco, cheap and self sustaining but it was only an idea and they like to be up to patent level, (which being a layman I have no skills for) and it was only a theory. It will probably go by the board now but was a gap filler for the next 20 years until they beat the problem of Nuclear Fusion.

Morning jake.. Well the regulators only do what the Government tells them. If BEIS says for instance that there only 5% of non-smart remaining and it now requires 100% compliance and Utilities say they can cope with this small number but at £10 a visit. Rules is rules, it is down to who makes them.

Hello jake.. I must admit it does not look so urgent for UK as some other loss making countries. From my contacts loads are being installed in UK. May be like yourself curiosity. I suppose main reason is more accurate and current meter readings for Utilities and ultimately no meter readers. The upside may come for customers when tariffs can be changed remotely where as in the past they were set like economy 7 and 10. It was the Government who set the Smart. Now we are into SMETS2 I will be having gas and electric done, having said so much about them. Like all things it will eventually be a requirement or you will have to pay a large sum for a reader to come round especially to your house.

Hello Imperial.. A good summary. If I may give a few obs I think that we will get a better return from UK this year following the new directive from the Government commencing 31/3/19. I should imagine that with SMETS1 and 2 when first installations occurred Utilities avoided 'notspots' for expediency, intending to return to them at a later date when they had achieved the Governments quota mandate. However from 31st March installers do not have a choice of who and when, they must complete an installation in a set time from the customers application. So no more pick and choose, or get a heavy fine.
Philippines etc is a new adventure but BI I feel will open many doors especially in Middle and Far East.
The risk with CC is it a software company (late hardware) and a lot of costs revolve around R&D which in the Omni case is virtually completed. In the 90's, my time, many companies had massive P/E ratios yet still had massively high SP's whilst making no profits at the time. CC is long term but hopefully will break even this year.
I think this is a new field for everyone, Utilities, Governments and suppliers and they all want to achieve the best, most up to date for the cheapest outlay. CC stands a good chance.

Looking over recent RNS's I would now like to see a bit more detail on agreement with Adtel. Could be a very good opportunity.

If you came in now at 6p there is a good chance of making it to 12p by Y/E and may be more if lucky.
You are just not interested and want to put everybody else off. With your buddies do not dwell in the past.
At the end of the day AIM is AIM and will always be a risk but with CC all the leg work is, painstakingly, done and it's a matter of seeing how much income can be achieved from UK and around the world this year.

Jake.. To somebody new coming on board this could well look a worthwhile punt. All the hard work has been done and previous investments struggled. Now at very low costs and possibly good upside what more could you want from AIM.
With ISA at this point I would evaluate any small loss with possible massive gain, tax free.

To go one stage further jake.. Supposing with CC being so low there is this year a turn of for the good and shares hit the roof during the next 2 to 3 years imagine the capital gains tax on normal shares. This is opportunity within the £20k ceiling to make a fortune. It is AIM after all and what better risk to take as CC is now so far down the track.

Hello jake, just got in.. Was surprised at the 600k sell but is that maneuvering. They are not going to sit with a dealer otherwise buy price would have dropped. They are being sold and bought up for a reason.
Regarding Towers I see them as two separate statements, the 700 all belong to the North/Scotland contract because that is the way the Arqiva wireless system works and must have cost a fortune, with a lot in the middle of nowhere.
In the South it would have taken probably taken 10 years, if at all, to get permission for 100 Towers.
CC's wireless is the lower band and does not require masts. With the drive pasts they are talking about the vehicles probably had all the necessary equipment on board to test all systems. The question mark before re notspots is resolved and it is all systems go.

Hello jake.. My take is SMETS1 started off as the new smart meter system, probably could not do notspots, so they were left dumb, and was later found also to be not interoperable. They are twice as expensive as the SMETS2.
Heads were scratched and it was decided to develop SMETS2, Telefonic, Toshiba and Connode.
However SMETS2 had its own minor problems and took longer to create. In the meantime the program was under way and they carried on installing SMETS1, hoping for a solution to the eventual 14m installations, which I suspect did not involve any notspots,good for CC because these can now be dealt with.
Last year DCC hired a Lab company to produce software for inside DCC building to take in SMETS1. So job done. Utilities did not have to remove the SMETS1 but they were not going to put in any more from March 19. So no more SMETS1.
I suspect that CC have got the 10-20% notspots for whole of the original 53m meters.

As you know North and Scotland are Arqiva who use masts, wireless, and I understand more expensive.
Midlands and South are SIMS, operating like mobile phones.
However they found notspots, don't know if that affected Scotland as well, also SMETS1 could not change over suppliers
That is the first note that I have seen where DCC is happy, I think they were worried about their own jobs if DCC failed.
I doubt if notspots were tackled with SMETS1 they probably left old meters in and moved on to next customer.
Anyway everything in the garden appears rosy at present. (Bamby - what garden)

A bit iffy ITT. Do we know how much CC gets when first installed and what fees follow. LTI will probably know. I understand also that in UK once connected by installer it goes live immediately and has no DCU's.
If the Hats are available I would be looking for 1,000,000 may be 2,000,000 as they are being put in all over the country by various Utilities immediately after the SIM cannot connect, so only requiring one visit and if I am correct CC knows simultaneously that connection is made.
There are a lot of meters going in as we speak and will rapidly increase if they have to reach 40m over a couple of years.
The very good side of all this is that CC software when used will not have an hiccup, it will work first time.
There is nothing not to like about this contract, unless of course you want to. Anyone coming in now should see growth potential in short time considering how low SP is at present.

Greengrass, I definitely think I can feel it. Seawolf stop going over past figures, how many times, this is AIM. Its like owning an oil well, lucky/unlucky, then we have Governments on top.
If Cyan had been a big company it would just have been down to development costs and written off (less tax).
We have a situation here where only those early investors who have averaged down with a lower SP can still feel in the game including JC etc.
This period of R&D costs for this product has come to an end and hopefully we will hit the big time this year.
Do not look back it is a waste of time.

BB is probably right LTI. My definition is Hybrid means combining say petrol and electric. In UK I think its SIM or RF not both swapping back and forth, may be wrong.
However that is very good news for CC in India as it means RF is needed and at low cost as they would expect.

I think that CC intends to make good use of BI services. As JC said apart from the $4m contract he intends to use them for back up. Additionally they are bothering to set up a new factory for CC products. They must be serious and plan to use CC in any way they can. If BI can break into the world market then CC goes along with them.

All, I think we all know that CC is doing well whether produced India, China or elsewhere. Don't dwell on production matters that is for the experts.
I think Anil can be trusted to take advantage of any opportunities in India and near by.
I understand that CC is capable of knowing when a meter has been connected and not reliant on updates from Utilities etc so we may possibly get accurate progressive numbers as they occur.
UK has massive numbers to install quickly and it would be interesting to CC's progression.
