The RTZ JV is a bigger catalyst for us in the short to medium term. That will likely be more fruitful. Gold is set to drop next year at some point, so whilst it's doing extremely well right now, it is volatile, and analysts are predicting a fall mid to late next year, so I'd say take it IF it happens to be on offer!

Would it be too much to hope for that SD might be about to finally announce an offer from Newmont at least for Tel/Hav? and we all get the carrot dangled of a nice fat divi for a late Christmas pressie? I go back to that wanting an independent MRE, there has to be more to that than meets the eye, I suspect SD already has it, and has had it for a wee while, and negotiations were in play some time ago, which might now have concluded since Newmont legally took over Newcrest. Whats the odds of an announcement just prior to the AGM that Newmont wanting to divest was actually a red herring?

Current mcap 552 mill. And Newmont have 2 bn floating around. It wouldn't be a bad time to make a move if they do want to take us out. They then land a JV with RTZ so I wonder what RTZ's views would be on such a risk? I wonder if there will be an offer on the table just prior to the AGM? Just have a feeling with Newmont declaring they have 2 bn floating around in their wallets, what have they to lose?

I agree. That's why I said about Newmont, or may be someone else, but someone doesn't want this to rise! Wait and see if Newmont try and take us out in our entirety? That would be interesting! What did they have spare? 2bn?

Correct tiffintip, the unexcavated minerals belong to the Russian State, so the State won't be taking them back as you imply, as they already have ownership! :) Mac is so convinced of a BRICS sale, yet China is heading for financial doom, and now they've got this other virus ready to unleash on to us all, and off we go again! The Saudis are buying in to GB, they are plugging the hole left by the exit of the Russians, and they are doing very nicely and being welcomed! They've just taken a 10% stake in Heathrow Airport, they've already got a 20% stake in Aston Market, and only need another 9.5% to mount a takeover by stealth possibly, they tried with Newcastle United, they are sitting on £580 bn+ and are out to splash the cash, and we will be welcoming them. They won't be interested in Eurasia though for sure!

Imagine having £538bn + to hand and tapping your fingers on a desk and saying, what shall we buy next! Bankrupt Britain is probably on the way to becoming a Saudi State by default!!

I suspect they will increase their stake in Heathrow too, it will become a hub in part for the luxury jet market no doubt, the Saudis are very smart, they've spotted a massive opportunity in the UK and are going for it!

They are moving in, they have seen the gap left behind by the Russians, and are moving in. Newcastle United, a stake in AML which I believe they are increasing in readiness for a stealth takeover manoeuvre, and now it's been made public that they've taken a stake in Heathrown Airport. Watch this space, they will take AML, I'm certain of it, they want luxury and service brands of the UK as they know they are ripe for picking, and they know they are welcome here, as we have to fill the gap after the departure of Russian monies. Let's see.
