I have to agree! I just bought back in today, in a big way for me, @ 4.8p (BTW, which hasn't even shown up on the LSE AIM trades today!) which, IMHO, is, quite frankly, ridiculous for what WSBM have, even if you discount Red Setter, completely, as a zero asset!

Add to that the very limited share float involved, and, IMHO, we could see a massive uplift in the sp with even the most basic positive news, over the next few weeks!

A very good piece by Alastair Ford of Proactive, who's well researched on miningin the Pilbara region and the companies involved.

I also expect to see quite a bit of new M&A activity in the region during 2023, as current and new drilling, in significantly more tenements, by an increasing number of mining & exploration companies, occurs.

Indeed, you beat me to a post...The POG today is at a 6 month high and briefly touched $1833, before dropping back slightly to the current level of $1820....

Just for clarification, I mean MRE3 being published by Greatland Gold, as Shaun Day indicated, if Newcreast don't do the same, in a timely manner!

Paddy, the more I look at it, and the background language, the more I'd have expected MRE3 to be published, anyway, but certainly with Sandeep Biswas as CEO at Newcrest.

I still believe that that's what will happen, but, maybe, just maybe, the change in CEO will have some effect on that decision.

I can certainly see some strong reasoning behind having Sherry Duhe as the permanent new CEO! She's clearly got a great deal of experience in the resources sector, as the article states, and is well respected, but, also, with Biswas apologising to those who felt bullied during his tenure and vowing to change his management style, dare I say it, but a woman CEO would just maybe be the perfect choice, and, before anyone says something, that, in no way, whatsoever, is any reflection on her as a great candidate, probably well above many similarly experienced male applicants.

POG up over $1800 again this morning. There does seen to be an overall push north, with a few blips on the way. We could see $1850+ later this month, IMHO.

Tomsett played down the potential for Newcrest to face months of disruption while search firm Russell Reynolds scours the world for top talent, arguing it was probably easier for external and internal candidates to participate in such a process.

Perhaps the reason he is so relaxed is because Biswas’ successor looks so obvious: former chief financial officer Sherry Duhe, who joined Newcrest in February from her previous role as CFO of Woodside, and will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately.

While Biswas wasn’t on the call on Monday, Duhe was front and centre.

It would be a shock if the global CEO search doesn’t end up in Duhe’s office. She’s a seasoned executive and particularly experienced in the resources sectors, albeit on the energy side.

Quite why she wasn’t announced as Biswas’ replacement on Monday is another mystery, but she’s a clear favourite to land the job.

Her appointment would add to a long list of great female leaders in the resources sector, including Woodside chief executive Meg O’Neill, Fortescue Metals Group CEO-elect Fiona Hick, Lynas chief Amanda Lacaze, BHP’s president for Australia, Geraldine Slattery, and Rio Tinto’s managing director of Australia, Kellie Parker....

Central banks snapped up more gold in the first nine months of 2022 than all the annual totals since 1967, according to the WGC. Almost 400 tonnes of gold were bought by central banks in the third quarter, quadruple the amount acquired in the same period a year earlier.

John Reade, chief market strategist at the WGC, said: “At the margin, it served to increase the tendency of emerging market central banks to diversify away from the reserve currencies they have in their portfolio, and add to gold...“All the indications we get from our surveys of central banks is that we'll continue to see central bank buying of gold, and it's concentrated within the emerging market countries,”

Yup. let's be straight here! There are many people that have invested in GGP medium/long term, over some time now.

It's been a very interesting time, as I know most will agree!

At the same time, Tempus Fugit! It's frankly amazing what's happened over the past few years!

Yes, the sp has been ridiculously low for some time too, no doubt!

However, 2023 will be significantly better, IMHO, and I have no doubt, whatsoever, about that, as I've said for many months now. I've been topping up at these 'stupid' levels, but, realistically, I can't see them being around much longer.

Sure, I could be very wrong, and only time will tell...
