Surprisingly, not, it's back to -0.6% again!

As others have already mentioned, the resource continues to grow, but the big news in this latest update is the decline and the "record high advancement rates achieved"!

As we know, Newcrest has adopted a staged approach to the evaluation and development of Havieron aiming to deliver early production and cash flows from the project while work continues to define potential resource additions and assess growth targets, and this has been made clear many times by both Sandeep Biswas & Shaun Day...

SB: "...but the focus is get those high grade tonnes from the crescent zone into Telfer, as soon as we possibly can, while we're working on what the entire deposit looks like. It's really exciting. It's work in progress. Get the cash flowing as soon as you can. That's always my principle."

SD: "Havieron just continues to give, and that's all part of delivering, firstly, the start up mine, as the SE Crescent, tailor made for our balance sheet - Drive in, get into production, move that high grade ore through the mill and generate free cash flow, but then to re-invest into the broader Havieron opportunity. It's brilliant to work on an ore body like this."

Get the cash coming in first! There is no doubt now that we're speeding towards that now!

It'll be nice to get out of the strange (but not unexpected!) +0.6% and -0.6% daily sp changes we've seen for the past week...

Having read Sandeep Biswas's regular take on the results of Havieron drilling, and the decline (and Juri J/V), ever since the J/V was formed, I'm now looking forward to reading this from Sherry Duhe, and hoping to get a take on her viewpoint going forward. That's provided she will now comment, which I expect, but can't be certain.

Unless there is some form of manipulative tree shake in the next few days, I just cannot realistically see there being any chance of anyone being able to buy GGP at under 8p again! GLA!

And no real discovery of any significance just because there is presence of minerals doesn’t mean anything unless it’s a commercially viable discovery.

No, of course it doesn't, but you only have to look at the likes of Newcrest Mining, who originally gave up on Havieron, before others & Greatland Gold actually proved it out as one of the biggest gold/copper mother lodes in probably a generation. or more.

As I say, only time will tell, but I'm prepared to wait, when others clearly aren't, and that's their choice, with no criticism from me, whatsoever.

But Red Setter isn't unsuccessful. The latest assays have confirmed the presence of a hydrothermal gold and copper system. Like any exploration programme you drill holes to get initial indications of what may be there, you analyse, you maybe combine with the likes of magnetotellurics surveys, which they're doing, and you decide where to drill next. Sure, there won't be any drilling now much before April, because it's not drilling 'season' in the Paterson, just as most other explorers aren't either.

I'm certainly prepared to remain invested at this time, and indeed top-up at current levels.

I do understand the frustration of many WSBN investors, and some with a wish to sell, which like any investment depends on an individuals circumstances.

Personally though, I've topped up today, although my buy, as happened last time I bought, is not showing on todays trades. I see 4p as very cheap, even if you totally discount anything at all Red Setter, but, I remain positive there, but not short term, more medium/long term.

As always, only time will tell, but especially in mining stocks!

2022 was a significant year for central bank gold purchases, buying 673 tonnes in the first nine months of the year – the highest in more than fifty years.

According to the World Gold Council, central bank buying in the first nine months of 2022 was the highest since 1967 – prior to abolishing the gold standard.

Net purchases by central banks increased each quarter, with the third quarter hitting 399 tonnes. Fourth-quarter data is yet to be compiled but could be very bullish for gold....

CHINA HAS RETURNED TO THE MARKET
The People’s Bank of China purchased 32 tonnes of gold in November and another 30 tonnes in December. These are the first purchases by the Chinese central bank since 2019 and could mark the beginning of regular additions to its reserves.

The return of the Chinese bank to the gold market is significant because its $3.4 trillion in foreign exchange reserves dwarf gold production of 3,580 tonnes (2021), which at $2,000 per ounce would be valued at $0.23 trillion.

Since news broke in December that China is once again buying gold, the yellow metal has jumped in price from $1,800 to $1,910 per troy ounce....

GOLD MINING COMPANIES
Because gold miners have significant costs (averaging $1,290 per ounce, according to the World Gold Council), gold mining shares tend to be more sensitive to movements in the gold price than gold itself.

For example, Newcrest Mining shares are up 9.2% in the first 19 days of 2023, giving a leverage ratio of almost 2:1 compared to gold over the same time frame (4.7% in USD terms).

Pushing north, yet again! $1937..new intraday high!

I think we all know what the "Havieron business plan" is, and has been, for some considerable time now...We're going mining!!

Way back in August 2021 Sandeep Biswas was clear, "This cutback is an investment in Telfer's future which will ensure the operation is able to continue for at least the next two years. With additional drilling, we believe there is the potential for further mine life extensions in the open pit and the underground beyond this time. With the excellent progress we are making at the nearby Havieron project, our objective is to continue utilising the Telfer plant without interruption as we look to introduce Havieron and other new potential feed sources in the future."

And why wouldn't they, as Sandeep Biswas also stated that year, "Because if you look at the Havieron ore particularly the Crescent, and you’re talking...it’s like 5 times to 10 times grade of the open pit in Telfer, you don’t need a lot of that material to get the same ounces."

Maybe I'm wrong, but, yet again, it appears to me, that some posters here have a totally myopic view of Greatland Gold, basing it entirely on Havieron.

We own some other large, and very impressive acreage in the Paterson, which is now, increasingly, one of the best, and safest jurisdiction areas in the world, for, mainly, gold & copper exploration, with increasing finds from other companies.

On other good strike in any one of those tenements could easily boost the GGP sp considerably.

Again, maybe I'm wrong, but like a whole load of GGP shareholders, I'm really not concerned about the 'day to day' movements in the sp. I KNOW what we have! I'm invested medium/long term, and, yes, I have no doubt, whatsoever, that it will prove to be the best investment I've ever made in my 40+ years of investing!
