It would appear that there is already some kind of black-out in place on exploration results announcements.
I can't see any other explanation for Solgold's silence - it's not like they won't have drilled a lot of holes over the last six weeks, or received a number of assays back for the lab...

IMO, once the seller clears THS will rerate higher. It's too obviously undervalued.

No, Jubilee don't own those tailings. That is a fact. The tailings belong to Jubilee's unnamed business partners. And how much JLP will get from processing them we don't know. And how stable is their partners' control of said tailings we also don't know. It could all turn out to be another Colin Bird dodgy deals for all we actually know. He has a lot of previous form.
Now can you please stop clogging up this board with your misinformation. Good luck with your JLP shareholding.

I think this is not new news - according to the RNS yesterday NM is "retiring" from being CEO of Solgold on 31st March, and continuing as an NED.
This, of course, is window-dressing. I would suggest that NM has already effectively lost control of the board and the company. It's not good he is staying on the board - it's a recipe for quarrels. A clean break would be far better. But it won't change the final outcome here - which I'm confident is a farm-out of Alpala / Cascabel to a major, whilst Solgold continues as an Ecuador-focused exploration company.

I don't want to be rude, but you evidently haven't done your homework fully on JLP - a mistake which has cost many of its investors dearly in the past. (Not that it is easy to research JLP, given the deliberately misleading nature of many of its communications).
JLP are very shy of disclosing their relationships with their partners. They evidently will get something from processing the copper tailings which are actually owned by their unnamed business partners, but exactly what we do not know. The tailings are certainly not "assets" which belong to Jubilee.
So, no, not "ha ha" at all. But a correct statement of fact.
JLP are a Colin Bird company. Beware. And beware the risks of Zambia.
(As a former investor in Acacia, I also echo Ragnar's point about not touching Tanzania, either).

This is why I shouldn't have answered your provocative first question...
THS are not "struggling to get a process to work". They are building a large scale fine chrome plant which will supply them with ultra-cheap chrome for years to come (Vulcan - $50m Capex). JLP had an experimental small scale fine chrome plant at Dilakong, a project which they have since abandoned (without realising the value of the PGMs in the tailings).
Good luck with your JLP investment - you obviously believe the story you are being told by Leon Coetzer (he does tell a good story). It's higher risk than you think, and JLP have a very long track record of disappointing and heavily diluting their previous generations of investors.

In truth, any rhodium price over $10,000/oz represents a bonanza for Tharisa. Over $20,000 is crazy.

I added this morning first thing on the back of the RNS. I got 198p which I think will prove to be a bargain.
It's wonderful that HOC have finally got to a net cash position.

Let's just say Colin Bird(!) is Chairman, Zambia is a high risk mining jurisdiction, and JLP have not kept their promises to clean up Kabwe, their RNSs regularly mislead (see the last one), and their vaunted technical superiority is really no more than empty boasting.

I agree that both THS and SLP are investable (in a way that I think JLP is not).
But, to get into details...
SLP have about 7-8 years worth of material to process based on the dumps alone. More if there is run of mine material from Samancor as well (which is an open question). Production will tail off at the end. SLP don't have a viable plan to extend LOM or increase current production as yet; maybe that will turn out to be Volspruit, maybe not. I'm really hoping they lay out their plans for the future in their interims due in February.
Tharisa have a current 14 year life of mine as an open pit, with a potential 40 years more if they go underground. They are targeting an organic increase in production to 200K oz of 6E PGMs per year from improvements in grade and recoveries. Karo - the monster deposit in Zimbabwe is separate from this - it will take years to decide what to do with that.
All told, IMO Tharisa have a better long term outlook than SLP. They have a large low-cost chrome operation, which can only become more profitable as demand for chrome / stainless steel increases. They have a substantially better LOM. They have better growth prospects. And, above all else, they are not dependent on Samancor, who are a risky partner to have.

The UK is a tiny part of the world market right now - about 2%. And it's getting smaller over time. Big picture, it doesn't really matter what the UK decides or doesn't decide to do.
ICEs and hybrid EVs have at least ten good years ahead of them. Huge parts of the world simply don't have an electricity grid capable of supporting widespread use of EVs. (And that's without considering their true environmental cost, which is pretty awful).
Hydrogen fuel cells use very substantial quantities of PGMs - about ten times more than catalytic converters do per comparable vehicle). Platinum is considerably rarer than gold, and it's a fair bet that soon it will (again) be a lot more expensive than gold as well. Especially as there hasn't been much investment in developing new PGM mines for decades. A minor PGM such as rhodium is already in an intractable deficit, and it now costs over ten times as much as gold per ounce.
So, oh dear, Quady. Again.
FWIW, I think silver and tin and nickel are also commodities with excellent outlooks for the next decade. And, fortunately, copper. Not so much from EV demand, as simply from the mass urbanisation of developing countries.

Your usual level of ignorance presented as certainty, I'm afraid...
1. Diesel and petrol engined vehicles are not going anywhere for some years, especially in developing countries;
2. Hybrid EVs actually have much higher loadings of PGMs than conventional ICE vehicles (all that stop-starting);
3. Platinum group metals (including iridium and ruthenium) are key to hydrogen hydrolysis and hydrogen fuel cells. Hydrogen fuel cells are very likely the long term answer to green propulsion of trucks, buses ships etc.
Even today, you come on here posting garbage presented as fact, when you have been completely wrong about Solgold for as long as I can remember. Aren't you even a tiny bit embarrassed?

Humbly, I agree about potential of silver (solar panels).
But (IMO) the metals that have the largest potential are the PGMs (platinum group metals), which not only now play a role in reducing vehicle emissions, but which are also key to the development of the "green hydrogen" economy.
So THS, SLP, Sibanye Stillwater, JLP, Northam Platinum and so on...

Actually, SLP do produce some iridium.
SLP quote 4E PGM production (Pt, Pd, Rh, + Au) and then account for the ruthenium and iridium they produce as "by-products" in their figures.
THS (and JLP) quote 6E PGM (i.e. Pt. Pd, Rh, Au, Ir and Ru) production from the outset.
We've talked about this before on this board, but I do believe iridium prices will go the moon if the "hydrogen economy" becomes a reality.
The metal that SLP don't produce (or at least don't get paid for) but which THS produces in large quantities is (of course) chrome. Currently, prices are coming off their lows. But demand for stainless steel will only increase with time, and Tharisa's production costs are low (especially once the Vulcan plant is completed), so this should be a source of profits for THS for decades to come.

I see THS as a better long term investment than SLP, especially at their current mcaps. THS has simply had a big seller at around this price level, who has soaked up all the available liquidity, and put a lid on the share price. Judging by the price action I think the seller is about to clear.
To compare with SLP, THS has a much longer mine life, the advantage of producing chrome as well as PGMs, decent growth plans via the Vulcan fine chrome plant and expanded PGM output, and an excellent exploration play in Karo.
SLP and THS have very similar number of shares in issue, so you can more or less compare their maps by comparing their share prices. I think THS shares should trade at a ratio of 1.5:1 or even 2:1 to SLP shares. Right now, the ratio is something like 1.1:1, which is way too low. SLP is a fine company, but the bigger opportunity right now is here.
