Posting this Reuters article, because if a U.S. - China trade war does kick off, then rare earths will almost inevitably become a part of it. (China dominates (95%) world production of rare earths and has used them as a trade weapon in the past. That's a good RNS! It's always a problem obtaining representative assay numbers when the deposit is "nuggety", like Sanankoro clearly is. Glad to see that Cora have recognised this and are dealing with it.

I use AJ Bell as a broker. By chance, I came across the following (anonymous) broker estimates for Rainbow Rare Earths on their website this morning: 2018 - pre-tax profits 2.52m, EPS 1.30, P/E 13.7 2019 - pre-tax profits 4.79m, EPS 2.45, P/E 7.25 I cross-checked this with the Hargreaves Lansdowne website, and they state that "Arden Partners" issued a "Strong Buy" recommendation on the stock on 21/02 with a (now out-dated) target price of 19p. So I'm guessing the figures must come from their analysts. Does anybody have any thoughts as to the possible accuracy (or inaccuracy) of these figures? (Obviously, they refer to the current narrow vein mining operation and ignore the substantial exploration upside).

I can't imagine that Rainbow are stockpiling rare earth concentrate now; they need the income too badly during this phase of mine ramp-up and exploration. Maybe thyssenkrupp are stockpiling. It would not be such a bad marketing tactic, given it's quite likely that rare earth prices will spike in the next few months (possible China - US trade war, etc.). But that would be after Rainbow have sold them the product, so it wouldn't help Rainbow's finances.

RNS is very specific about Hermic being the main subject for the webcast. I wonder if they have news. I'll be checking for a second RNS at 7am on Thursday morning.

Hi Master Investors! That would explain a lot. Any ideas of how much Beaufort held stock will hit the market, and when? This could get rough for a while.

OK. I think this is the bottom of this SP slide, or nearly so. I get that there has been drift here lately, but this share is getting silly cheap, so I'm in. My timing may be off, so I've only invested 1/3 of total intended investment for now.

I think it's reasonable to assume that the Omani Sovereign Wealth Fund intend to hold their shares for the long term - so no, I don't think 50p is a hard ceiling for the share price. I read the convertible bond as no more than a safety mechanism for them during mine construction and ramp-up. (In effect, if all goes wrong, the Omanis will be at the front of the queue as a priority creditor, rather than last in line as shareholders). For me, the share price here will be driven by licensing and construction news (i.e. actual progress towards start of production) and uranium market sentiment, and perhaps a little by further exploration success. But I don't have a timescale for any of these to happen. IMO, it could be a quiet few months here.

Hi Looser! I don't think Jim Cramer gave out the best advice there, and he encouraged you to buy on a peak rather than a dip. But, that said, both Centamin and Randgold are excellent, well-run, debt-free companies, and I'm confident that both will come back. (FWIW, all gold miners are trading at very low valuations at the moment, especially given that the actual gold price remains reasonable. The sector is simply out of fashion. That should change - but exactly when, I can't tell you.)

Hi EVbulllish! FWIW, I'm happy that BCN used a price of "only" $11,000/t in the feasibility study, and not any more. It seems to me that many investors here (and at EMH) are in danger of forgetting that the cheapest and easiest way to produce lithium is via brine evaporation. And that there could be a lot more brine production to come online - not only from Chile and Argentina, but also from Bolivia (for now, completely unexploited, but potentially the world's largest source of Li). Yes, demand for Li will almost certainly increase. But low-cost supply can also increase quite rapidly as well. So I don't think it's realistic to expect the price of Li to just keep on going up. The market will balance out. In particular, I'd be very wary of investing in any hard rock spudomene lithium projects; they'll be the highest cost producers on the curve. And that's never a comfortable place to be in a volatile business environment like mining.

I'm probably going to the Proactive Investors evening - other commitments permitting. Unless there has been an RNS first, I won't get an answer to the questions I really want to ask - e.g. about the lopolith. But I would like to ask a couple of questions about RBW's finances and about how they are coping with the current "long rains". Not too concerned about the internal politics of Burundi. As I understand it, relations between RBW and the current government are good.

We are not officially due any news until April. But I wonder if we won't get an announcement of partial drill results next week, before Martin Eales presents at the Proactive Investors evening. But your guess is as good as mine.
