rowka my too generic question was specific to your post. Your post! If you don't know the relevance then why post it? I don't see the relevance to our situation and yes it seems complicated. Too complicated for you to give me an answer as to why you posted it. Anyway, my analysis has not changed and I think you don't know what you're talking about.

Hi spoon_key, me neither being a relative newbie to investing. As I knew fidelity did not trade Norilsk Nickel shares Saxonaxe advised me to contact my broker and they gave me the info about the shares/cash situation. Others on here have said that their brokers do trade MNOD, so they would be fine. I was just covering my potential bases and I would suggest you do the same. At the end of the day we'll get what we're given and we'll not know until the end whether we should have cashed out or stuck with it. Having looked at the LionOre example where counter bids got them another 50% I'm probably going to hang in there.

spoon_key that's getting in the realms of financial advice as there would be pros and cons to both. There could be a counter bid(s) or a bid could be withdrawn. Personally I'll more than likely stick it out until the end. Cash and shares doesn't work for me as my broker doesn't deal in foreign currency shares, so they would sell them and deposit the cash into my ISA.
