Ah, ‘Dodgy’ Dave, I remember him well. My initial (chunky) buy on the 4th February 2020 tanked within 24hrs when DT ‘resigned’ and NFX had to release an operational update. ‘Lucky’ Dave managed to offload 650,000 shares at 8.7p a few weeks before the 💩 hit the fan. Just for info, this is what Mo said regarding competition during a Q&A, 30th January 2024 Investor Meet presentation.

“So, the more trials we run, the more data we have on our challenge agents, the better vendor we become for our clients with regards to human trials……

So, one of the key restrictions for our competitors is the actual challenge model, the virus. So each virus takes about 5 million pounds, to manufacture and to characterize. But the key thing is you need to have human data on that model, on that virus to be able to use in your clinical trial. And we have an abundance of that - we've done over 70 challenges we have inoculated over 4,000 healthy volunteers. So, we are unique, in a unique position….”

Agreed Deserttrader. CC has a plan, which she has set out clearly and with confidence. The company now has “laser focus” and CC has communicated a real intent to stick to the timelines set out. What a difference from the old management regime.

She did an excellent summary in her concluding slide of the AGM presentation.

“Let's look again at the goals that we have set for ourselves at the second half of 2024 coming up.

First, initiate the expansion cohorts. That involves selecting the dose for expansion and moving into those expansion cohorts. Collecting that data is what derisks our phase two strategy. We are still one hundred percent on track to achieve this milestone.

Second, update the AVA6000 clinical data. Also, one hundred percent on track to achieve this goal. This may be at a major medical meeting or, as we did in December, an investor meet. As we understand better what that format will be, we will be updating everyone on when those data will be presented.

And third, exciting, release our pipeline update.

As I mentioned, the data that were collected in the AVA6000, the proof of mechanism data show us that the preCISION platform is working exactly as it was designed. And so we look forward to sharing with you the new updated pipeline, which will be in the second half of 2024.

And then a new goal setting for ourselves today, as we communicate those innovations in the pipeline update, we will be hosting a R&D spotlight meeting around that novel pipeline, in order to explain all of the exciting innovation coming, and that will be, again, in the second half of 2024. And we look forward to updating you on all of our goals. AGAIN, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ON TRACK TO ACHIEVE OUR MILESTONES.

“So having been with a Nasdaq company, I can tell you there are some things that we need in order to get there. We need clarity of our mission. We will become a therapeutics. As you saw, we are laser-focused on becoming a therapeutic business. So we have some work to do to get to that laser focus. We need a pipeline. So US institutional investors are going to love the first asset. We need to put the entire plan together for them. That is actively ongoing since I took the chair here. But we need a pipeline. The pipeline is coming a little bit later this year, and we'll start to get some feedback from both investors, but also from other scientists as well. It's very important that we put our pipeline assets into global congresses - like AVA6000 finally went to AACR. It was very important because you not only get pats on the back, but you get criticism. Thorn - I have tolerated your posts but this one from last night was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

He wants patients, who have had 8hrs of treatment and hanging around the hospital to come back in the early hours of the morning for a biopsy. Or, to start their treatment at 9.00pm and hang around all night for eight hours. Thorn would probably give them a mop and tell them to clean the wards whilst they wait. These are sick patients. Have some compassion you fool.

And you need to SandyR’s post again re AVA6000’s effectiveness.

Touk, imo opinion AS’s exit was 100% due to the poor financial deal. You cannot say you have optionality, don’t worry about funding etc and then preside over such an abysmal fund raise, and expect to keep your job. The same went for EF & TG.

The science is going from strength to strength. Just take a look at the slide (No.7) and the stellar names on the Scientific Advisory Board. That is a panel of independent, top class experts. Note the word ‘independent’ - this is a very professional set up. AVA6000 has progressed this far with the support of Bill Tap and Lee Cranmer’s (and other specialists) external validation.

Totally agree Chris. There is ‘balance’ and then there is just desperate BS. Thorn has plumbed new depths today. It has got obsessional.

Just to copy from an earlier post “And he [Lee Cranmer/ Fred Hutch] leaned into the Zoom and he looked at me and he said, ‘Chris, we have vesicant levels of doxarubicin’. Now, vesicant just means it's killing everything in his path. We have vesicant levels of doxarubicin in these tumour biopsies. IT WAS THAT REMARKABLE . Even to the clinicians who are tired of giving this drug.” (My use of capitals).

Also referenced in a post by RAH on X. I have sometimes (quite often) thought RAH too rampy. But fair play to him, he has been excellent (imo) post the raise.

I attended the AGM. You have to remember, that as well as being recorded, CC is also addressing a packed room full of investors. She is a polished and professional speaker. IMO she judged it perfectly. I thought she was excellent, as was the content.

I voted against TG’s reappointment too. I also voted against the remuneration resolutions. The performance related award of bonuses and share options needs to be much more closely aligned to shareholder’s interests and the SP. There needs to be a change in the company culture in this regard.

And I agree SoleBoy, I also think there is going to be a very different feel now to the AGM. The source of much acrimony (EF) has gone. What promised to be an ill tempered affair should now be much more positive. I have not attended the AGM before and I’m looking forward to going.

Great post McMuff, it has certainly summed up my views.

Even if CC has to be given (she has only been CEO for two months) some time to instigate change, then at the very least pay the next instalment in cash. Wrong foot the shorters, try and shore up sentiment and put a fecking floor under the SP.

Options and bonuses have got to be more aligned to the SP and their investors. It’s been very one traffic for too long now with the awarding of options etc and they need to fully appreciate the downside as well as the potential upside. Spotlights well and truly on EF in the AGM, this disaster has all unfolded on his watch.

CJ, I think we may have to wait for H2 for a “proper update”. CC said twice during the prelims that an AVA6000 clinical update was one of the three planned “milestones catalysts” that are due in the second half of the year.

But like you, I hope there is some new data released and not just a rehash of the AACR information.

One important thing the AGM gives is an opportunity to ask ‘live’ questions - i.e. they don’t have to be submitted beforehand and not read out if they are too awkward. CC & EF may not be able to give comprehensive answers if it involves market sensitive information, but it is a lot different from the pre-censored questions of the Investor Meet/TP type of forum.

This is IG’s definition of an AGM: “During an AGM, a company's performance is analysed and its future strategy is discussed. This is an opportunity for shareholders to question the board, get answers for unsatisfactory performance and challenge them on the direction of the company………”

I wonder if there will be any board members from Diagnostics at the AGM. Or, if like the on the website they are consigned to the equivalent of a footnote. An embarrassing mistake airbrushed out of the equation.

Thorn, what exactly is the bad news you are anticipating at the AGM?

I think many attending will vent their ire towards EF & TG regarding the placing, but not towards CC. The over-generous awarding of options and ensuring future options are more aligned to the SP will probably be a hot topic. TG is likely to get booted off the board. Uncomfortable questions will be asked on how we have gone from optionality/don’t worry about funding, to an SP struggling to stay above 40p. Investors will also want a clear road map for the future, updates on the pipeline etc. But I don’t expect bad news about the trial data. So I am not quite sure what you are expecting?

Well one things for certain Thorn - I won’t be meeting you at the AGM because you’re not invested.
