Ice, AVA6103 has the potential to be a billion dollar plus asset. But it’s not at that stage yet. And until it is - the SP is relevant.

Ice, I don’t doubt AVCT’s potential. But I still think that there are times when you are too simplistic. Take the placing for example at 50p - you were in complete denial until it hit you in the face. The SP is important. You love AI - I just asked it if a company’s SP was important - note points 1,3 & 4.

Ice, you dominate this shareboard. However, I must point out that at times, your comments come across as patronising and somewhat naive regarding the share price. For instance, when you say, “I don’t get why people are so fixated on the current SP seriously, who cares?” — of course, people care. While daily or weekly fluctuations might not be significant, it’s matters that despite all the promising science, after nearly a year, we’re still stuck in the 40s–50s pence range. Investors aren’t supporting a charity; the share price acts as an anchor. For example, if we were to receive a takeover offer with a 100% premium, that’s only £1, and a 300% increase would bring us to £2. You see my point?

TG2D I have been invested in AGL since 2021. And I don’t post on boards that I am not invested in just to have a malicious 💩 stir.

Peel Hunt: Ashtead Tech proving it can deliver

A full-year update from Ashtead Technology (AT) is further proof of management’s ability to deliver strategic and financial progress, says Peel Hunt.

Analyst Andrew Nussey retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 850p on the subsea equipment rental group. The stock was trading up 12% at 623p at time of writing on Thursday after a 2024 update showed it was trading ahead of consensus and Peel Hunt’s estimates for both profit and cash.

‘Full-year 2024 momentum, ongoing market demand, and record customer backlogs provide confidence that growth will continue through 2025,’ said Nussey.

He said the statement from the company, which provides equipment and services to the energy industry, is ‘yet another proof point of management’s continuing ability to deliver strong strategic, operational and financial progress’.

The analyst added: ‘In our view, the shares offer compelling value and remain a conviction “buy”.’

DG, thank you for your efforts. I have contacted Consilium twice in the past, plus follow up emails when they didn’t respond. IMO they are beyond poor. Why have an IR department when they don’t respond to investors? In the end with my first query, when Consilium didn’t respond, I contacted Alastair Smith direct and, fair play to him, he replied within 24 hours.

VS, I take your point about a TO offer flushing out rival bidders, but 50p!! That’s not even at a premium to Fridays’s SP close. After all the clinical progress and the enormous potential promise of AVA6103, I would see an initial 50p offer as derisory and time wasting.

I’m in the same boat Touk. Despite averaging down my cost average is significantly higher than 50p. And I’m pretty much spent up now.

It’s frustrating, that despite all the clinical progress, we still can’t pull away from the 50p mark. Subject to the company not being in a closed period, it would be good to see the board stick their hands in their pockets and buy some shares on the open market. I own more shares than CC bought (50k) in last year’s placing. Director buying would demonstrate a tangible sign of confidence in the company’s future and better align the board’s interests with those of its shareholders.

The ‘traditional’ January business update will be interesting this year (assuming there is one).

Really hope we get something to turn the SP around. As much as I like the company I’m sick of being in the red.

avct, are at this moment in time, very dependent on us retail investors and it’s been a torrid year for us. i’m sick and tired of tw et al having the upper hand. we have even been patronised by ***** on twatter today…..

Ice, I’m not sure I agree “that RNS wasn’t for us plebs, that was specifically designed for big pharma”. A significant proportion of AVCT’s shareholder base are retail and (imo) an important detail should have been the dose selected for each indication. I would be particularly interested in the selected dose for the TNBC cohort.

Until AVCT can attract II/big pharma they are reliant on us “plebs”. It is disappointing to make such progress and still be under the 50p placing.

The fact that we are analysing/debating the wording and meaning of the RNS means that their comms are not working. There is probably a reason for the lack of detail but it is frustrating nonetheless.

Agree with your comment PL75 re Myles’s tweet - His [Myles] dramatic deadline setting is ridiculous...” Myles has made countless predictions setting over optimistic expectations, and very few (if any?) have been accurate.

And very ill judged comments from Myles regarding the “death spiral”. It’s stirred up a right panicky tizzy.

My comment about the Affimer IP perhaps making matters more complicated was based on something CC said at the AGM in the Q&A.

“So you're right, Wetherby was essentially Avacta Diagnostics. It did hold one key piece of IP, which is the use of that affimer antibody, like as within a diagnostic. We actually just had an IP meeting last night to be honest with you, and this is one of the questions is, where does that IP go. As you saw in the RNS that is with Coris right now….”

I am sure things are well in progress but (with the exception of the brilliant science) 2024 is a year LTH’s in AVCT will be glad to see the back of.
