Mathurin thank you kindly for those very generous kind words,
I'm just a amateur investor, with the wisdom? and track record of a average amateur investor, I just think why invest your money in any company's share if your not very enthusiastic about that companies proposition.
Another good investment strategy, is to never get emotionally attached to any companies shares, because it interferes with your need to sell if things look bleak.
Thought burford couldn't look better, burford has the potential to go to £26+ in a few years time, and potentially even much more, given the proper amount of our own litigation funding, and to cut out 3rd party funding/ sovereign wealth fund. And others, we use them to reduce our own risk, though we still take 60% of there profits, so maybe burford is right about this strategy.
GLA
FFCmember I certainly hope your right and I'm spectacularly wrong,
I believe we will win the peterson case very easily, our litigation cost paid in full, though the market price of our shares indicates a struggle to get our hands on that 1 $ billion dollar settlement figure, and as we know Argentina was already struggling to pay It's debts before this pandemic and downturn, though I'm very confident that burford have already identified assets we could get frozen to pay any unmet settlement award, we actually don't really want any Argentina bonds, for all the obvious reasons, so I'm intrigued to find out what burford have identified to seize from Argentina to settle our award, I reiterate I'm extremely confident we will win the peterson case. And get our full litigation cost back, though as I've stated the market seems to agree with my view / so far, but that can all change , I once again topped up this morning, the best is yet to come, this share could easily go to £8.20p+ in just a few hours ,weeks or months. Some good news and this will really fly.
GLA
The average private Volkswagen payout was €17.500 payout, so that's a ball park figure we could go by. How much profit for burford I simply can only guess, 25% 33% the reason I feel it's one of these figures is that this should have been a straight forward case, as Volkswagen have already admitted to their own failures, and also paid out billions at higher levels of compensation, so for me I felt this was quite a safe case to back with $30 million dollars, though only a portion of this profit will be our profit, as we keep the risk very low , sharing the payout with the sovereign wealth fund and other 3rd parties,
Though this is just a taste to what burford can do, the best is yet to come, even the peterson case we will at the very least, get back all our cost incurred in taking that case , say $50 million dollars+ anything else is just a bonus, I suspect a massive bond settlement of some kind for the award itself, and hopefully a big enough bond settlement to take account of the risk with them shaky bonds. They can always be sold to someone at some price, that seems to be how it works, they award us , just say $1 billion in bonds and we sell them for 3/4 hundred million, I wouldn't like to hold these bonds, but the Argentinean government might start quantitive easing and buy these bonds back," or not". Burford could easily identify Argentinean assets from around the world and get them frozen and confiscated to pay our award , that's burfords specialty, it's more difficult to hide a sovereign governments assets, most other governments know we're they are in case there's a sanctions war.
So we can expect at the very least to get all our cost payed for, the rest is a bonus,
The cash receipts will pour in this year to truly ignite our share price. It will be a retailer bloodbath in the worlds economies, though this will only benefit burford and It's litigation funding propositions. Burford is a safer place to park your money than most other shares. And very possibly even triple your money in 1 / 2 years
But /sell with extreme care and due diligence

So the government is opening up non essential shops on the 15th June , hopefully that can kickstart
card Factory, now that should lift the shares tomorrow , excellent decision. GLA
Well people were saying I was de-ramping here at 95p, let the share price do the talking then, I hope I’m totally wrong though, and card Factory ends up being the remaining and best card selling shop on the high street. GLA
Eliasjones that’s a fantastic summary sir, excellent,
Though would I still jump in and invest right now !!!
“NO” card Factory should have held onto there special dividends and payed down there debt levels, ask warren Buffet about that, with his $130 billion of banked cash, that’s the way to do it, save up and buy into cheap companies in trouble during a recession.
Maybe he will bid for card Factory if things get bleak ,
I would just love to buy card Factory again , but the high street is weathering away, and things could turn bad and very quickly for card Factory , that’s my
thoughts around everything, just look at how many stores are closing, and I assure you we’ve seen nothing yet, in my honest opinion there’s going to be a bloodbath in retailers in the coming months and years. I know, I’ve spoken to enough of them , from the horses mouth I listen and learn. Can you imagine hearing these things and then go and buy a high street retailers shares, no thank you, I need my sleep. Seriously strip out social distancing and card Factory will still struggle on the high street, but that not guaranteed at all, as I’ve said I truly hope I’m wrong here. The risk is just to high to throw in a couple of thousand pounds to card Factories shares, I see better risk around with better rewards.
GLA
I Sincerely hope card Factory survive this next downturn, remember something, loads of other card shops closed during the last recession, and there was no pandemic or fear about shopping on the high street, the rates relief should help though, card Factory needs a huge turnover to pay staff and rents , that huge turnover may not be there now, if that’s actually the case then it won’t take its management long to see a a serious outflow of it’s cash flow, Then again there could be a mad dash for people to stock up with all the cards they will need for the year,?+ card Factory may benefit from other card shops closing down during the recession. On the balance of probabilities profits will be hit in a big way, that still may give 30p a s a fair share Price or not ? I don’t know,
these shops may only clear 15/20k profit a year, so there maybe some closures in some badly hit town centres, shops are closing everywhere, and that takes footfall off the high street and shopping centres.
I hope I’m spectacularly wrong in my assessment here. Even though the internet is fantastic, it’s taking to much money and footfall out of ordinary shops. And that’s the biggest. ? Problem?
GLA
This is/ was a great company,
I would caution anyone from buying the shares right now or even in the medium futura,
Here’s why! Card Factory needs the same or more footfall than it had before this pandemic, Even if they get a quick vaccine fix, there will be a large number of people still to afraid to visit the high street or queue up in any store, these stores need more buyers, I simply can’t see card Factory holding up with a reduced footfall, people have already started ordering there cards online, so I just hope it’s card Factory they are ordering them from, and in saying that a large part of card factories sales are through party lines balloons etc, and all the other add ins they sell, I personally only use them myself, and even I can’t see people queuing up outside one for a card, they will buy in there own newsagents, with hardly any queues, I’m genuinely worried for this great card chain, the high debt is a problem and even before the pandemic, If I’m honest I wouldn’t buy the shares at 10p that’s how nervous I am about it’s trading future, it will open ok, and trade and sell ok, but I don’t believe the profits will cover its needs, and if it does , which I hope it does, then it may limp on for a few years in Limp mode until things pick up again, and that’s best outcome under a terrible recession that’s coming our way,
I’m genuinely sorry to be so bleak here, but it’s only fair to be honest with investors, as some may know I owned these shares and warned investors at 88p to get out, like I did, and once again I warn them ! This is one very risky share to own right now, only for the very brave indeed, if it had no debt then that risk may buy it time until better times, genuinely good luck to those brave investors here , I hope your bravery gets paid back 100 fold , because you would deserve it.
GLA
With burford only having a capitalisation of 1 £billion and profits of several hundred £million surly that Argentina case is not even factored into the current share price, though if burford wins the case which they will do, I'm expecting a payment instalment plan for Argentina over many years , be it bond payments and some cash, Argentina is definitely a broken country, but that's not the problem of any USA court room, something will be worked out that's for sure. Or give us the oil companies shares back , that's the bottom line , oil will eventually recover from the downturn.
But as I've said our share price has already factored this into our current valuation.
A lot of money was made yesterday, so the profit takers have moved in, with no good news yet burford is doing well, when that good news comes in , there will be no holding back this share, any shorters will get there cash smashed downwards, beware.
From a low of £4.34p yesterday to £4.72p , now what can we achieve today, let's wait and see, everything's looking great , slow and steady as we March forward.
GLA
Ps, really sorry about the typing mistakes, this kindle keeps changing my words. Good night everyone.
GLA
Correction.
I checked that r
RNS 3 time earlier on and it were said Thursday the 21st on it, and now it says Wednesday the 20th, they must have corrected it then, ima sure about that, because I thought why didn't I see that this morning !!!
GLA
Jammyc the RNS for the Directors buys was today/ see above.
Buys sells, it will always be difficult to differentiate as long as they employed a silly system , I’ve always wondered why nobody’s done anything about that problem, or does it suit the people in the know.
The times article, thanks for straightening that out , thank god your here jammyc .
GLA
Note,
In today's after hours sells there were 2 x 50.000 marked sell transactions, I'm pretty sure they were today's directors buys from Bogart and molot, so maybe many more of them sells were actually buys, that makes perfect sense now. Why would a share price soar if there was more sells than buys. It's normally the other way around.
We live and learn . GLA
Great burfords mopped all them shares up and still increased the share price from a low of £4.34p today, to reach a high of £4.72+p , that astonishing , and still no good news yet, a poster on the advfn site says the financial Times legal section today defends burford against the Muddy waters attack, that's bound to strongly go against muddy waters, and backs up what burford have been saying all along, maybe that's what's giving investors more confidence to back burford once again.
Burford should power past £5 tomorrow at some stage and eventually on up to £8.20p before some of them big broker target notes of £26 yes pounds, the futures looking bright. Fantastic news,
GLA
SWRg79. Thank you for posting that sir, I seen the we bit of that story, though the Financial Times wanted my subscription to read the whole article,
So I’m delighted to have seen more , thank you again sir. Hopefully tomorrow will can blast past £5 LOL.
A reasonable summing up of the news around the bear raider muddy waters and Burford, hopefully that’s mostly last years News , it’s tomorrow’s news I’m waiting on now, and it’s to here about the new lawsuit wins coming in very shortly, and the return of cash receipts of £639 million, now that will get investors going here, Burford is moving in the right direction now after bad and no news flow, can you just imagine what it’s going to do when that good news flow comes in, I know start with £8.20p of a share price . And a monumental amount of litigation lawsuits to win and monitize.
GLA
£4.57.600p is the exact 1st resistance point. If it holds above that the maybe £5+ today tomorrow?
GLA
Backinblak if it doesn’t drop below £4.58p the first resistance point , then it may be to late to jump aboard here, good luck though.
GLA
Arsenal786. Truer words have never been spoken,
Fum will skyrocket on any licensing deal, It has a fantastic following, in fact one of the best I’ve ever encountered.
As I said yesterday , take another look at Burford capitals Potential , it’s moving just as I also mentioned the huge potential in the share. It should double in the next few months, though please DYOR, never ever buy on anyone’s hype or enthusiasm.
I will buy into Fum when the time is right, and that could be anytime soon .
GLA
If Burford is just left to a normal share trading pattern, then it’s shares would just power a head to a fair market price, The bear raiders can only safely operate when there’s been negative news around, when that’s gone they are at great risk to loosing out ,
They normally know themselves when the tide is truly turning, as we see right now, just allow ordinary punters to bring this share to a reasonable level, they can still make loads of money on that journey. It certainly looks like we’re heading to £8.20p , though I genuinely believe the next couple of years of a economic depression could give us a £20 + share price, and on the back of substantial lawsuits wins, Burford has indicated to a substantial higher level of work heading our way, the futures bright the future is a Burford USA listing.
DYOR, only buy after fully researching everything. GLA
