When the USA opens for business there will be a avalanche of Litigation cases thrown at burford, at the minute they are cherry picking the best cases for themselves and leaving 93% of cases just sitting there. The financial opportunities from this year onwards will be unbelievable in my humble opinion.
One of the drawbacks from listening to Burfords management speaking , is that they come across as a bank manager speaking to you. A little robotic , There was only one of them speaking , I didn't catch his name, but he sounded really enthusiastic and I wanted to hear more from him. A good enthusiastic upbeat plain speaker. I thought now if he was our CEO, he would impress me big time.
GLA
Yes the companies buying more of there own shares for the employees incentive scheme + I'm sure the BOD will buy some to create more confidence in the company, God knows it needed it LOL,
There will be loads of disgruntled share holder who will sell up at different increases in our SP, though the big money will buy our shares leading up to the USA listing, that listing should really secure a great share price and valuation, the best is yet to come, no one but no one knows just how much work will flow in from this economic depression, though going by last events it should be substantially higher than even the last economic depression, because this depression should be the mother of all depressions, and the increased work load should mirror that fact. The opportunities here could be very substantial indeed, many a company will just sell its rights to any possible lawsuit award to just get its hands on cash, that's how it works ok.
And we with £££ billions on hand can take the due diligence around all this, and buy most of this work load up , the investors with the biggest amounts of money can hugely benefit from this opportunity, and that should be before capital, will our share price get back to the historical highs, just leave it to the Americans stock markets , they absolutely love these types of situations and companies, they will give us our true valuation with no problems. Can't wait for that USA listing, our shares will rocket . Good luck all.
I actually think we might possibly see £5.70p at the end of the day , or is that to much to soon. LOL
Well it looks like we are well on our way to a very substantial increase in our SP today, £1.8 billion valuation here we come LOL
GLA
Sorry about the predictive word changes, ahhhh
The market often does the opposite to what you expect, never a truer word spoken, there will be short termers moving on with a nice profit, and new investors coming in after the smoke has cleared, I'm happy and I see no reason for the market not to be happy about getting clarification around burfords latest set of results , and getting shot of the muddy waters nightmare hit. Muddy waters have made there dirty money that's what's really important to them and they've done that ok,
From now on Gifford will go from strength to strength, and I'm quite sure barcodes CEO with his massive share stake will go on to build the company and share price back to its highs.
GLA
My reading of that result is = it's going to be a fantastic day in burfords shares = excellent considering the nightmare of the last 12 months for burfords share holders and management, this company should be valued at £1.8 billion inside the next 12 months if not a lot sooner, the USA listing should guarantee that ok. Now throw in any new business after lockdown in the uk and he's and we should have a historically high amount of work and profits coming our way, equating to a much higher company vauation. I'm so relieved to see them numbers this morning, I'm expecting a good jump in the SP today but a much higher one leading up to a usa listing, the Americans will love this recessionary proof stock, good luck everyone this morning.
Always buy with extreme caution no matter how great any companies story sounds. GLA
I've no idea what tomorrow will bring / profits wise, but the management's drive to take us onto the USA stock market should give us a much healthier share price, depending on our management's expectations to the level of extra work that should come our way, if we get that extra work then they should grow our profits and share price substantially over the next number of years. Tomorrow should hopefully clear out the dead wood in burford, and our management will fight to regain market confidence and bring back share holder loyalty and trust, if they can do that reasonably well then burford share price should hit and surpass £8 by the end of the year. I'm a new share holder here / last week , so hopefully I've got in at the right time and price. I've done my due diligence and the risk reward ratio looks excellent, though tomorrow is the start of my journey here ,good or bad, so good luck to everyone who believes in a fallen star.
Any share what's so ever can loose you money, buy with extreme caution at all times, GLA
It now looks like it's surpassing that £4 barrier. if everything goes well in the finals and analysis briefings, then this really should push ahead to find its fair market price, to get a small clue to what that might be / see litigation capital plc 13 PE or manolete plc 40 PE . We are unlikely to achieve any of these PE quickly, though in time surly we can come somewhere near that 13 times PE, and given Burford intends to go for a main UK and American nasdaq listing.
This is a substantial leader of a litigation company in this sector, so I'm expecting to see a robust new accounting strategy from its BOD, if it achieves that then it might even achieve a much higher long term PE than some of its peirs, and considering its recessionary proof advantages and potential,
Always always always buy and sell with extreme caution, good luck all.
Or could it go to £5 or £6 pounds by Friday ?
GLA
Geekkogordon it would be even more helpful if you could show the profit in that chart, or is it already there ?
It really is complex and confusing, you can see why muddy waters decided to call out burford out on its very complex accounting reports,
I can see why muddy waters has attacked and put pressure on burfords accounts, but I can equally see were muddy waters
Reports have put a very clever spin on everything, up and to getting another investigative and basically a psychological reporting on everything that was written and verbally expressed by burford, they also put there spin on everything, that was negative and downbeat about burford. That was there primary objective, muddy waters is a small privately owned company
With only less than 10 employees , no one knows were they get there funding from, so you ask yourself do they make any money from exposing questionable accounting policies in companies that they know might make money from a 3rd party linked to MUDDY WATERS !!!
That's the big question that needs answering, would it not be better to expose a company that has no obvious earnings capacity, and for it to be investigated fully by the American authorities.
If it needs funding by anyone/ 3rd party who makes money from a companies share price collapse, is that not a very good reasons for a biased unbalanced report . Of course it is, and to back it's unbalanced reports, to get another company/ called Qverity to back up there reports with a behavioral analysis, this all looks believable now, a 3rd party backing up what muddy waters wants burfords investors to believe. The more negative bad news muddy waters can get ,the better for their own strategy, and that could possibly be to make as much money as possible from a companies share price collapse.
As sure as hell they are not doing it for the goodness of humanity, it's to make money in my humble opinion, and because of that cash flow need they go in for the attack aggressively, and backed up by a supposedly reputable 3rd party.
Most companies don't know what hits them when these reports come out. All they know is that it puts the frightners on investors, and the share price will always plummet, thus the 3rd secret parties profits from short selling, and as usual these matters can be very complex as we've all seen, then the company has a awful lot of explaining to do to the investment community. That can take a very long time to convey.
But you can be sure that muddy waters has angled its accusations very well against its targets and covered itself with its own in-house lawyers, you can be sure that every single accusation could be fought over in a court of law, in any back lashing lawsuit against muddy waters, and most companies don't want a litigation war against muddy waters stretching out over many years and bringing even more bad publicity to Burford. They just normally just want to
Yuri.f I've never in all my life came across any company that didn't try to squeeze every penny of profit into any accounting period, it's only because that's there job , that's if they are doing there job properly, if There's a a profit anywhere then recognize it, and in that quest the lines of reporting get blurry sometimes, example a shipment of say PPE being sold to say Ireland has left the UK factory after a orders been made and it hasn't been paid for yet, so do you book it in as profit or not,
The lines of accountability can get crossed on a regular basis, management can't be on top of every order went out,
The are similar lines that Buford come up against every so often, say a big settlement is agreed but not paid yet, do burford tell investors that we have this profit or not, say it's paid for one day later , can burford not just write it in as a current profit, as it's a very large sum of money , and it would keep that years earnings in line with market expectations ? These are the sort of things that pop up in every accounting, but not everyone gets a muddy waters bad report written about them, it's my experience that most large and small companies can be disingenuous around account reporting, that doesn't mean they are fraudulent with there accounting, let's call it being creative around accounting, it always astounds me to see the amount of companies that get away with bad book keeping, even after there books have been officially audited .
I'm quite sure there will be no stone left unturned in our accounts this year, and our management will take every step possible to give us one of the best clear upfront accounting reports that can be had.
After all that's cleared. then confidence building measures will be employed by the company, to return our share price to its former highs, and yes that's very possible as we should substantially benefit from this monumental downturn in world economies. This share is going in one direction and that's up up up. It maybe one of the very few shares that will quadruple over the next several months or years,
YURI.F by all means you carry on from where muddy waters left off, but you will be left Behind in them muddy waters yourself, Burford needs positive thinkers now , not opportunistic back biting ****roaches,
Good luck all.
Thank you for that MB60 ,
Burford are ploughing away for and American listing this year, does anyone actually think the share price is going to hang around at a 3 times PE, when a small similar company in America is getting a PE of around 17 / omni bridgeway plc, these types of companies are trading away for decades but it's only now that they are taking off big time,
I assure you it burford do what they say there going to doing then our share price will go over that 11 times PE it had early last year, the Americans will scramble for our stock, our biggest wins and lawsuits come from the USA,
I'm sure Burford will, or has addressed every single issue raised from any online spurious reports , rightly or wrongly written .
We need a clean bill of health to go forward + to get a usa listing.
We have some of the best lawyers working for us, so that should work well in our favor.
There's exciting times ahead, and a at least 11 times PE to look forward too. Sit tight and hold on for the ride .
Good luck all
Mathurin burford was bashed by a online company called muddy waters, they lashed out at burford around it's accounting practices, it's a easy thing to do to any company who has a complex accounting reporting structure, they had elements that were correct, burford shouldn't report a profit if it hasn't been signed off on, even if they know a lawsuit is basically a done deal, every company utilises different strategies around accounting, Burford needed to use a fair reporting of its accounting
Profits, it's not cheating or anything, it's just being to eager to get its profit into that 6 months of the year, and not fall into the following year, all companies try to squeeze more profit in to any given accounting period,
The online muddy waters knows exactly how to target any company that it thinks isn't being transparent with the market in its accounting, they were particularly vicious in there report and attacks, though Burford has asked the financial conduct authority to investigate the unusual share selling before burfords shares collapsed,
People in the know make serious money from our share price collapse, and burford wants to find out if anyone connected to MUDDY WATERS was selling burfords shares before the collapse,
Whoever it was selling, I'm sure they know there would be a investigation into share sales ,and would know to cover there tracks,
In my experience where ever you get a company like muddy waters you get opportunist cashing in on any bad news being reported, temptation is normally to much for them. In my humble view the market has massively overreacted to that spurious allegation, and now burford has to completely rebuild investors Confidence around all these opportunistic muddy waters reckless accusations.
That's why burford has a PE of over 3 and our smaller rivals have much much higher PE, but burford will come back fighting, they've done nothing wrong here, accept being stupid with there accounting practices, when that gets sorted to the markets satisfaction the shares will motor on, I would expect them to get to 11 times PE, or even more in the medium to long run,
To be Frank the share price could easily return to £6 or £8+ in the next few months and even then it would be very cheap.
As in any share only buy what you can afford to lose, good luck all.
Burfords PE was over 11 last year, it will eventually return to or Beat that figure.
It's business model is essentially similar to those other companies, though burford can change to be much closer or the same as it's smaller rivals in accounting and offerings. There's nothing stopping them from making them changes, they are all essentially litigation funders, it's the small bolt on parts and accounting that needs to be brought into line with its smaller rivals, it can and it does a billion pounds worth of business per year, of course it can withstand a bashing from muddy waters, in fact in the long run it might be good for the whole sector to get its house in order, because this sector is here to stay,
I've spoken to lawyers about this sector , and they tell me it's a massively growing industry, at the moment there's lawyers that specifically have a specialized interest around this whole sector, though this is changing as more and more lawyers can see and understand how it works , example a big medical recalling the NHS , a lawyer gets say 10 cases for a lawsuit and puts them together as a parcel to get funding , they / funders look at them all /say a notable bad negligent doctor, and normally straight forward cases, no meritorious cases, the funders take the parcel of cases for say 25% reward and cost etc,
Burford is essentially a commercial litigation funder, because that's were the big money is earned, if they wanted to , they could easily take on any type of reasonable funding for any case, that's why this whole area of funding and litigation is growing massively every year,
Yes I believe Burford will easily bounce back with a very clear visible accounting strategy, that brings a gold standard of accounting to this whole sector. And a share price that mirrors it's smaller rival's.
GLA
With a PE of just over 3.2 and all because of " muddy waters " shenanigans , as they like to find a weakness in a companies share reporting and put there spin on it, in order to work they have to use that element of truth to exploit, thus they exploited the complex strategies around before accounting, they were right in as much as burford needs to make there accounting clear and give a fair profit assessment, not a profit to come in the week after a certain date etc, all the other similar companies have, or now changing to how they report profit, it's a complex piece of accounting and sector, even they are still modifying
To get the very best account strategies.
Burford is well underway here, I'm very confident the next reporting date will lay all this out for private investors and institutions. When this is sorted then investors will sort out the PE in the share price, that may mean a tripling or a lot more
In the share price, though in the next few years burford should get a unprecedented amount of work , courtesy of this monumental pandemic. If the share price was at £8 next week or after the accounts are filed ? I honestly wouldn't be that surprised. It's only ever going to be a matter of time for a massive rerating, just remember Homeserves plc massive fall from grace and then a tripling of its low share price.
GLA
The market is only catching on to the substantial upside and recessionary proof and increase in burfords financial business model, yes it definitely needs to get its act together with it's accounting presentations/ strategies. Once that's sorted this will really fly, look at the other fantastic similar companies , litigation capital PLC, and Manolete.plc, the price per earnings are much much higher than burfords, though they have already got there accounting strategies sorted, and look at them now, there is a tsunami of Litigation work out there to come out of this monumental downturn in the worlds economic pandemic.
These types of companies do well in good times and thrive in any downturns. Thus the high value in this market place,
Burford will roar out of this low share price and eventually hit new historical highs over the next year and as long as this downturn last, which might last for 5/6/7 years , this market just keeps growing bigger and bigger as the corporate world catches on to the benefits to their balance sheets, we fund/ pay for the lawsuits, they sit back and keep there money in there bank's and balance sheets, we get a cut in the lawsuits settlements and associated fees. It works because it works for everyone.
GLA
Burford is increasing its share price before it's even released its accounts to the market, throw in a new better confidence building accounting strategy, and the share price should increase substantially, confidence will build as the share price throws off the last several months of unscrupulous market shenanigans, this also happened to homeserve plc , the share price crashed to around £3 and recovered to £1090p today , patience is what's needed here + a clearer more easily understood accounting policy, this share will fly over the next few months and years. The litigation world truly needs this type of product, and I'm 100% confident that this type of Litigation work is a permanent fixture.
GLA.
I feel that Buford will massively change its accounting policies to a fair reporting regime. This should slowly or indeed very quickly regain market confidence in the. Companies business model, this is a substantial and great company, it only needs to regain investors confidence and everything will change including the hammered share price,
I've heard lawyers working for me recently talk about this Litigation finance option in the last few months, it seems to be something that is growing exponentially in every area of law. It can be quick and speeds up litigation cases. As for the commercial lawsuits it's nearing a necessity to use litigation capital to fund their cases, burford will fly soon, I don't mean in pence, but in pounds, this whole sector is growing massively, and the busiest times are during any downturns, there will be several months in until the avalanche of cases flood in, and the best money earning cases can be cheery picked by all of these types of companies, I genuinely believe that next year and the next 3/4/5 years could see profits hit historical highs. The worse the downturn the better the business opportunities. Good luck all .
As with any share, risk are always around, always buy with caution.
Now look at the valuation of Manolete PLC compared to litigation capital , there's a massive difference in the price per earnings, two things should happen, We should move up to match them or they should come down to mirror us, or could they both combine there individual strengths and create a better geographical spread of business opportunities and stable income streams. I was astonished to see the different market valuations.
