Having spent 20+ years in the residential development sector, I have seen many, many housebuilders talk to large numbers of companies and people looking for angles of any kind. MAST coming out and making a big issue of this is, IMHO, nothing more than fluff.

And as for building and operating data centres? Some chance. These projects take years in the making and require hundreds of millions of pounds to build. And I cannot see MAST competing successfully against the likes of AWS, Equinix, Global Switch et al.

Another hope, hype and speculation share is MAST.

All IMHO, DYOR and ask Tim Davie who now has time on his hands.

It seems that the MOD has two main approaches to procurement of new technologies:

1. Rapid Acquisition (Weeks/Months): For immediate operational requirements, especially in response to lessons from conflicts like the one in Ukraine, the MOD can use accelerated procurement methods.

2. Research and Development (Years): For novel, high-tech capabilities, the timeline is much longer.

XSG has more than just a bolt-on micro plastic filter solution.

What differentiates XSG's solution is that it is built in to the washing machine during manufacture. Plus the technology is patent protected.

Rumour has it that XSG has signed a deal with Whirlpool. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall that Whirlpool sells around 20million+ washing machines a year. That is quite a lot.

Justin Waite certainly does his research and he has a fairly good track record of picking winners.
