Nice little article about carbon capture in Ireland.
This was published in May 2019 but reading through the document it’s quite obvious that this has been on the radar since early 2000s.
Towards the end it does mention the Kinsale storage option and who have been conducting the feasibility survey.
IMO this project has been on the cards for a long time and for PRD to tie into it makes perfect sense.

Not for the sake of wanted ramping we mustn’t forget our partners in Ireland who own 50% of the venture (Theseus, who are they, ???)
However if time Allows will try and find more of this ppl 4/19 application we we have a 100% interest in offshore Atlantic margin.

If you have a quick read of the article posted by chislehurst this morning in the Irish independent it states total annual revenues of £89/£111. Millions
So if we said an average of £100 million Per annum gross, over the proposed 25 year life span, I make that in the region of 2.5 Billion.
With a low Capex expenditure And high margins of profit, I believe that this makes this Project very appealing.
On a side note disappointing that the Irish independent failed to mention that the imported gas Would be indigenous to Ireland and not fracked from the USA.
Creates an argument instead of telling the truth.

According to the Irish times it looks like the Shannon lng site will not be going ahead so no US shale gas on Irish soil and also a ban on further gas exploration off Irish waters, don’t know if that would affect our Corrib block.
However this could mean that our ram head project will be the last indigenous gas import for Ireland.
Interesting aswell that Paul stated 20/25 year life of the FSRU, If that is to be utilised for ram head only, the big question is how much gas is there in ram head.

Hi all,
Doing a bit of digging and came across this, don’t know if I’m ahead or behind the curve on this one.
This is the link to the Intergrated petroleum affairs system.
We have three applications on this site
LO 16/26 Slyne basin, prd operators 50%, Theseus licensee 50%
LO 16/30 north Celtic sea, prd operators 50%, Theseus licensee 50%
PPL 4/19 dated 01/07/19 PRD operators/licensee 100%
This license is coming up on a search as Europa oil & gas, have we taken over the block, I didn’t think we had any 100% interests in Ireland.
Any info on this would be most welcome.

Hi all,
Good to see we’re doing ok at the mo.
Just want to throw this out there.
Does anyone have an opinion on when cerp and bpc have completed the possible merger, we as PRD come in and take a controlling interest in BPC or buy them outright.
Just thinking of the obvious benefits of taking a bigger chunk of Trinidad, exposure to the Bahamas and South America and if we did buy trinity we would get our £4.2 million back in a roundabout sort of way.
Paul has mentioned vulnerable assets/opportunities.
Would this be a bridge to far for us/ could we afford to do this.
Any comments welcome

I don’t think PRD will have an active role in the carbon capture technology, possibly some small input on co2 from the IP we have gleaned from Trinidad.
It may be that the CCT is being put forward as part of the deal with the Irish government as it would tick a lot of boxes with the environmentalists and it would also be inline with EU policy’s on co2 reductions.
Gonna do some more digging, look for other companies with this strategy.

Evening all,
Came across this, and I think this could be the plan or a part of the plan for Ireland. Paul does like to keep us on our toes with little snippets that he may not be able to publish for the obvious reasons.
I couldn’t work out why Paul mentioned co2 experience, information they gathered in T & T with regard to lreland.
But this makes perfect sense and if I’m right, the deal that there putting together is perfect for the Irish political and environmental conundrum.
1. Gas is drawn from reservoirs (ram head and possibly Corrib south) to the waiting ships, then either stored offshore in already modified depleted kinsale gas fields or floating barge.
2. Ships deliver lng to onshore facilities anywhere required. (Ireland, or U.K. If Shannon or cork lng facilities don’t go ahead or are delayed in construction)
3. Gas is used to fire power stations in Ireland
4. Carbon capture technology returns produced co2 from powerstations using old kinsale pipeline to undersea depleted gas wells.
Great idea in my opinion.
Certainly think it’s gaining traction.

Another question for the agm unless anyone can confirm beforehand.
I don’t think this would be classified as price sensitive but would be a good indicator on company cash flow.
I would like to know if and when we sell oil to Heritage through the eor project, “Will we receive the monies directly or will the monies be paid to cerp/Fram in the first instance”.
As were aware we can recoup our costs on the project before any splitting of potential profits.
However if cerp/Fram receive the monies first as they currently own the wells, is there a time limit on how long we will have to wait to be paid, 30,60,90 days??

I think we’re on the same wavelength with strategy, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Paul mention kinsale pipeline and indigenous gas in the same sentence which might possibly suggest Some form of terminal onshore, which would be agreeable to the environmentalists and fall into line with the anti US shale gas/fracking debate with the EU.
If he could answer my original question at the agm, I believe it will fill in a big piece of the jigsaw on timescales and in which way the company is headed.
It may even give us another clue into who the majors are.

Yes that is correct,
However that question could answer a couple of questions in one go, as per
There is planning permission in place to decommission the inch facility and return it to, from memory green/brown field, if that’s the case why use the kinsale pipeline, unless there is a plan in place to apply to have planning permission to re use the land for a storage facility. The photos I’ve seen of the inch plant suggest that it could possibly only be something like that because of the size of the plot.
There is also talk of a facility being built at Cork to rival The Shannon development so the pipeline could be possibly used in that instance also. https://www.orcireland.ie/fracked-gas-to-be-imported-into-cork-harbour-s-proposed-lng-terminal
However both of those scenarios will take time and considerable capex, more so the Cork option.
If the plan in the meantime is to use facilities already operational the transport ships could make the short trip to the LNG sites on the Welsh coast or any other in the U.K. and be fed directly into the grid, a much cheaper option and a much quicker way for monetisation in my opinion.
If it’s neither of these, back to the head scratching again.

Is the plan to use the kinsale undersea pipeline to transport the LNG to landfall in Ireland or will the ships transport the LNG to other established onshore Facilities elsewhere.
