Dr John Tingas,
The highly experienced oil and gas consultant who did our CO2 and Ireland feasibility study's etc, I have copied some of his comments from his LinkedIn page and no I'm not stalking the chap.
Title
Petroleum Engineering & Chemical Engineering Contract Work
Dates Employed
Feb 2017 – Present
Employment Duration
·3 yrs
Location
London, United Kingdom
- Feasibility study, planning and design of CO2 EOR in the Trinity-Inniss mature depleted petroleum reservoir in Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of Predator Oil & Gas Holdings. In an innovative CO2 EOR approach promising higher petroleum recovery than the current standard industrial performance so far, the reservoir petroleum recovery mechanisms are combined and optimized. This way, an efficient re-pressurization of the depleted reservoir by down-dip CO2 injection is designed where the Minimum Miscible Pressure is the minimum possible because the hydrocarbon gas in the secondary gas cap is not in contact with the injected CO2. The hydrocarbon gas in the secondary gas cap is re-dissolved in the liquid petroleum phase in an initial down-dip CO2 injection without production until the end of the re-pressurization period.
- Study of the Potential development of the Ram Head gas field prospect in the Celtic Sea on behalf of Predator Oil & Gas Holdings. It was a cost-effective advanced study allowing the assessment of further decision making for the significant Ram Head gas field in the Celtic Sea.- Exploration appraisal assessment and field development screening on behalf of AzEire Limited. The database of the deep-water tight gas condensate Spanish Point discovery in the Main Porcupine Basin, Offshore Ireland was reviewed and the current status and field development options were assessed.
- Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineer software development for the petroleum and the geothermal industries and for the exploitation of renewable energy resources.
AND
I am glad to know that my professional judgment first in 1999 and then after number petroleum engineering contracts since 2009 that offshore Ireland is the new North Sea is valid. My view coincides with the view of Professor Pat Shannon claiming that “new data, exploration models and technology are behind the momentum of deep-water exploration in Ireland”.
In the last 2 years 2 of my most recent petroleum engineering contracts one in 2017 for a new gas condensate field in the porcupine basin in the Atlantic Ocean waters offshore Ireland on behalf of AzEire ltd and another one in 2018 for a new gas field in the Celtic Sea on behalf on Predator Oil & Gas Holdings increased my confidence that offshore Ireland is probably with the Greek East Mediterranean Sea basins the most dynamic petroleum regions and offshore Ireland is the most exciting experience in my 43 year petroleum engineering career.
