Thanks for the response and the analogy. I like the fact that Enquest are seen as an expert farmer who can drive a good tractor. I wonder if there is a standard way for these deals to be structured and in particular geared to upside exposure. As Pelle said the capital markets day will be revealing.

No, the spreadsheet page is OGA totals for oil and gas. Shrinkage only applies in graphs where there is a dashed line plotted for historical and then bar chart for predicted. Predicted bars directly comparable to existing company reported figures which are also shown as bars.

July OGA added (ouch), predictions dynamic with that, still in the zone. Last page is BOPD OGA as L3 seems to like that. Magnus "shrunk" would be based on prior gas usage so will have improved and will show that improvement once some actuals to compare against. Big picture but maybe of interest.

I'm on a detox and go slow this week so doing a sedate coffee morning tomorrow with HMHn coming over to sell tupperware at 1100 if anyone is interested.

I updated my spreadsheet whilst at work (naughty) and don't have access right now so you will have to wait. Not sure that a monthly update is that revelatory but happy to oblige.

To determine "shrinkage" I just looked at OGA figures per field/area/total for last few years for Oil and Gas and then applied a reduction percentage factor that got them as close as possible to historic company announced boepd figures. % is mentioned in previous post. If company figures are saleable product as implied by IR then it provides a reasonable method for predicting future saleable against OGA figures. It's crude (no pun intended) but is better than using OGA Oil or OGA Gas and Oil. With a s**t July then my predicted figures were well out but they are dynamic in a sense as looking at past 4 months OGA data.

All part of the fun . . . after a mega weekend . . . don't start that again . . .

OGA July dismal on all counts. Kraken down circa 35% and Magnus down 20% on previous month. Call it maintenance month but no real hint of improvements. Ouch.

So I've gone into predictions. I've explained the methodology before. Enquest IR called it shrinkage so I have shrunk it. Dashed line and predictions are boepd shrunk and sit as close as I can get them to historic company reported figures.

Agreed,it wasn't clear. That page totalled OGA boepd Jan-Dec 17 and 18 and used that to look at % increase/decline.

I've looked at increase/decline over differing time periods and in the end just looking at using preceding 4 months data to represent change and then applied a reduction factor (shrinkage) that gets OGA down toward company reported figures. I've now graphed that and it works very well I think. Tight to OGA parallel but veering away when gas heavy Magnus is firing. Will be iInteresting to see how the predictions work. Again no planned improvements factored in and a bad Magnus month influencing data .. so I have a get out of jail free card in any scenario.

Y'all, I've just played with my silly little spreadsheet. Predicting boepd production FY19, forward estimates based on last 4 months average and applying my reduction factors I get 69308 boepd monthly average. No H2 capex based improvements (new wells, successful fixes) built in. This will have a s**t poor Magnus month included in forward estimate so I think top end of FY Outlook at least. Sweet Dreams xxx
