I watched the clip last night. I'm no expert but I have read "The Last Oil Shock" by David Strahan and that is littered with the world of deceit and lies about what is actually left in the ground and that agenda being driven by both governments and corporations. Mark Gordon's EUR stats came from BP and they didn't come out of the book untarnished. If Strahan is right then the graphing would adjust to an earlier or steeper price rise.

I read the morning update and then watched the CMD stream. I'm happy to say a lot is above my pay grade but my thoughts for what they are worth.

I pumped the Jan-Oct update figures into the spreadsheet earlier this morning and I think all guidance was lower than previous update. I know Thistle outage etc will now be factored in but presumably Magnus / Kraken actuals would counter that and they didn't . . . but we still have Nov-Dec. Struck me as odd as it was celebrated rather than downplayed.

I have no idea how the whole CMD shebang works but what a room. Contrary to popular belief in the real world (not the virtual strip club one) I don't work in the therapeutic industry, I work in the creative industries and know how to put on a show or in essence sell something to an audience. AB seemed relaxed but like he didn't need to be there, whilst BD is born to it, maybe it's just the accent, and JS is a good clear speaker. Other staff called on were impressive also. But no selling, no wow factor, no come and buy me. BD did say something was "stellar" but it wasn't shouted. I guess they know their audience but if you don't try and sell it there will be fewer buyers.

The back story to me seemed to be longevity and establishing that there is more in the pot in terms of capability and resources and a longer term vision. That is encouraging and in fairness I don't think we often go long term in our discussions so that was quite pleasing.

Real numbers also. AB using OGA numbers to answer a question on Thistle outage. You have the real figures so why not use them?

Anyway wtf do i know. Next year I'm going to offer some pre and post show strippers to liven it up.

I am what some have referred to as a climbie but justify this sort of investment until a viable alternative comes around.

You and L3 aren't called for auditions but HMHn might be. He's a member anyway so no great shakes.

I have just opened an isa for my eldest who studies environmental science in Lund and is currently in Svalbard for a term. I'm not allowed to do anything unethical with her monies whilst I contr ol them . Must research a bit of carbon capture.

I'd got there already today which led to the current $5 differential. One thinks everything is out there on t'internet but seems impossible to find a simple figure that A sells to B. Learnt a lot in the process though. The enquest payment to governments info looked useful but the mmboepd figure is declared as not being full production for some reason so a simple divison doesn't work. Somebody knows!

I've been sleuthing this. Any help appreciated in trying to understand it . . .

Tapis Malaysian benchmark is currently priced around $5 more than Brent but just as Kraken Oil can be traded at a difference to Brent, so can Enquest Malaysian production be traded at a difference to Tapis.

"Tapis crude assessment reflects cargoes for lifting on a FOB basis from the Terengganu crude oil terminal, Malaysia. Tapis crude is produced offshore in the South China Sea, East of Peninsular Malaysia. It has an API gravity rating of 42.7 with a sulfur content of 0.04%"(Platts Asia Pacific & Middle East Crude Oil Specification May 19), so IMO2020 friendly. ExxonMobil data for Terengganu from 2018 indicates a product with 0% sulfur and 80% naphtha. (ExxonMobil).

Petronas and their subsidiary seem very tight lipped on pricing although there are some tasty articles about Malaysian crude being the world's most expensive.

So if I want to by a barrel of it how much would it cost? Can someone enlighten me?

I'll qualify this by stating I'm a novice processing and predicting data but I have a production opinion and that is all part of the fun. Going with my historic/predictive model for production and adding some upside /downside based on what opinions are here and what I have researched I'll go Yr 19 BOEPD with month 9-12 :Scolty +2000, Kraken + 5000 and Magnus +3000, Thistle -2800 which gives me 2019 ABOUT 67300 BOEPD. No Malaysia improvements factored in as yet . Sorry if that isn't big enough but lets see.

Scary what happened to Tullow but we've been there and I hope that we have the opposite next week or it might become more than a virtual strip club for me and y'all!!
