"Test trace isolate as they did in past years, just 9months and a lot of lost lives too late ,what a mess they made of it."
TEST.
Hollybean, It could be argued that the government can only be responsible for the testing. If that is the case the UK has tested more than ANY country with a population of over 66 million.
TRACE.
Some improvement required here, but again you can only trace people who test positive with the information given at the time. With today's populace constantly on the move, not responding to text promptly etc, could be difficult. I believe that any so called government failing in the tracing is the time involved from testing positive to notification of the individual's.
ISOLATE.
This is where any failures enter the system and completely out of government control (how do you police it).
Research suggest that anything between 20 and 80% of people notified don't bother to self isolate.
How do you enforce that?
The opposition can shout all they want, but It's not the government it's the dumb populace who can't be bothered and think they know better.
