@Kando - This the most 'cultist' BB I have ever read. Any dissent from the approved text is met with 'shorter/FUD' etc.

May I suggest we just truncate this conversation and settle on the fact the UK has been on an economic and social 'death spiral' for fifty years. Along the way there have been some minor pauses - oil in the 70's and the City in the 80's and 90's being two such we now with nothing even on the distant horizon to suggest recovery and with every last thing sold off we are heading remoreslessy towards third world status - Think Argentina without the space and ability to feed itself.

To say the next 30 years will be interesting is to put it mildly.

@Oke' - Low unemployment? Not in my experience just the most cynical massaging of the stats you could possibly imagine.

By the metrics of pre Thatcher the unemployment count would be north of 6m people, instead we are told sub 2m. Its all nonsense that can be seen with your own eyes daily.

@Bobsto' Indeed the endless pronouncements by JL trumpeting his achievements do look more like spin than substance.

The end of the JL sales programme is however insight and assumedley barring further missteps the end of write downs - the question then becomes do Capita know how to win, run and make a profit on their remaining operations at anything over 'busy fools' money? If they can this will look silly cheap at present. If they cannot someone will take them out for 40p a share and that will be the finish.

I think the latter is more likely than the former but maybe the new guy has a better plan?

The form book here is the problem - aside of 'approaches' that oddly are never disclosed this has a tendency to crater on results. The last of which I strongly beleive would have sent this down into the 20's if it were not for Apollo somewhat usefully turning up the day before. Neat coincidence.

This could share I suggest will see 80's or even 70's again and thats assuming the half year RNS is half decent - a continuation of the full year and its a sharp drop for sure.

The.Crowman left his many fans dismayed with a late announcement that he had sold out of THG citing concerns around trading and likely disappointments within Sept much anticipated half year numbers.

Speaking exclusively to LSE he wished nothing but the best for LTH's but cautioned they need to steel themselves for a sharp fall in the current sp and advised devotees to follow his lead.

FYI - I am long on THG. Admittedly not so long as I was and again for full disclosure I am expecting disappointment in September - THG just do disappointment so well it would be churlish of them to change tack now.

Mrs Crowman has already bought at least 5 tickets - honest. She thinks the house is near Cley and is sadly mentally measuring up the curtains in her head.

Rather than being on a 'wing and prayer' as is all to often in the Crow' famm I was relying on the advised certainty of THG shares coming to the rescue with a hostile approach leading to at least £2.50 and maybe as much as £5.

As per title the endless rampers on here convinced me THG were a nailed on cert for a MBO/PE takeover at least a month or more ago. What with Dubai trips and Golden showers disappearing along with the sun and the moon in perfect alignment I had allwed myself and Mrs Crowman the luxury of trawling Rightmove for a new posh nest in north Norfolk.

Alas I have been mislead (again) and our current humble roost will have to remain - surely not for much longer though?

Given the UK bet wranch on the City being the powerhouse of the economy the decline of London should be a top concern. If we lose the tax income from this source those poor folk with ADHD might well no longer look forward to a new £40k Motability car every three years among others equally hurt such as the 2m plus skivers on the pretend sick the UK keep fed, housed and watered.
