Be careful.... rocket & SPIKE are two very different things.

All this does is perpetuate the volatility in the shareprice, fine is you are looking to make a quick buck, but sole destroying to LTH who are not in a great place. Sustained share price rise is only based on positive news from the company, not share price speculation on msg boards / twitter / arsebook...

Not really sure about this, a FTSE share controlled by message board and day traders?? .... hmmmmm, need to think about it but my initial reaction is to drop it in the same bucket with the Gina / Qatar rescue packages..... Share price is dictated by what the majority think, not what a small number of day traders are doing, and definitely not by what the LSE message board is saying ;-) .... the future direction of the share will be dictated by the outcome of the strategic review.. Any other movement is speculation driven based on articles published by credible news sources, not whats written on here.

illbetabuck - totally right, there is no conspiracy going on guys. The market price represents what people are willing to pay for shares (bit like selling your house, it's only worth what someone will pay for it). It's called market sentiment.

Unless the market believes there is a reason for a material increase then this will stay round this mark for the foreseeable future. what could make it go up materially? speculation or an RNS on a new strategic investor or rescue funding. What could make it go down materially? dilution due to fund raising, or speculation that a solution will not be found.

At the end of the day all investing is gambling as no one has a crystal ball, you buy and sell based on your perception of what will happen.

Not sure why Gina keeps coming up. Fraser has already given his view on this, on Tuesday. I cannot see how funding can be raised without dilution, but happy to hear other potential options.

Mr Fraser said Han**** Prospecting, the mining company of Australian billionaire Gina Rinehart, was unlikely to increase its exposure to the project. Han**** has invested in Sirius in return for a royalty on production.

“They are comfortable with their investment and supportive of the strategy,” said Mr Fraser. “And it is fair to say the debt providers do not view Han**** as fitting the category of a strategic partner.”

There's a big difference between the outlook for the mine, and the outlook for current shareholders.

It's quite possible that the mine gets built and is very profitable but today's shareholders get wiped out in the coming financing rounds and end up with worthless shares.

spot on... there is not a direct correlation between the mine getting built & happy shareholders. Any funding agreement is going to squeeze the share price. I'm sure there is good upside here if the mine is a success and people are willing to wait, however, probably not anywhere near the levels previously thought and for many will mean damage limitation rather than multiples of their original investment.

Not sure SXX and Lloyds are comparable, but maybe you would get a get a 10% fluctuation on SXX over the next few weeks based on market speculation on rescue packages etc.... moving from 4.3p to 4.8p doesn't seem crazy... I believe the institutional investors are generally still in place the people who have bailed are the PIs. this one will be a rollercoaster till the funding is sorted... or not sorted...

Well this is a pleasant friday suprise :-) still, long way (with the usual ups and downs) to go from here. Could be an interesting 2018 for SRES.
