RE: NY Below $14.5010 Jul 2025 17:51
As I posted on the SUPR board comparing SUPR to SREI (2 REITs I own). SERI who did not pursue the “grow as fast as you can policy” and you will see in the last 5 years SREI up 61.77%, SUPR down 22.85%, massive 84.62% better off putting money in SREI, probably more taking into account dividends. The skill is know you markets and the times you live in, there is a time for expansion and a time to batten down the hatches, Rusty only knows one policy and is unable to grasp when things change, change with them or it will not end well. As night turns to day things/markets will change back so prepare yourself for the new order, in this case do not stock up on long term high priced fixed rate debt when the markets hate this.
“Not sure a different view to yours is necessarily no argument - as we’ve said before over a different timeframe we might both be correct.”
See other comment about the markets, what worked in the past may not work in the present but may work in the future, it is all about interest rates, amount of money around for investments, sentiment, confidence etc. Or to put it another way it is like "the secret of good comedy "timing".
“Difference is I’m content to hold but it obviously upsets you as evidenced by your continual “trashed the dividend, trashed the Share Price, diluted the shareholders” rant.”
I really don’t care what you do, if you are so confident as I said buy more.
Why is “the dividend, trashed the Share Price, diluted the shareholders” a rant when it is clearly the truth, Dividend down by 2/3s, SP down a large amount (take a look at any graph since this string of acquisitions started), and simple arithmetic tells you shareholders have suffered huge dilution. You really need to stop confusing pure facts with a rant.
Of course I am upset this was a totally avoidable disaster, if it does not not work 1, 2 or 3 times do not keep repeating it to destruction.
“Again if you had sold at £1.40 prior to consolidation and bought back at sub 800p you’d be quite content. Only your fault you didn’t.”
Very true and if I had know the lottery numbers before Saturdays draw I would also be quite content.
So you are saying if I did not sell out at top of the market and buy at the bottom of the market since DEC listed it is my fault, Really.
Believe or not I don’t have a Crystal Ball or any inside knowledge. However I did sell out a number at £13 and bought more at £9.
