Realistically to see proper fleet figures with sales coming in will be 2nd qtr of year so April-June 4th qtr SEE financial year. So time we get to hear will Mid August earliest.

The video below for #Connect 8 provides many answers to the Mobileye #ADAS #safety side of the system for forward collision warning, lane keeping, pedestrian detection #FCW #LDW #driver #assistance. The fusion of forward camera with #interiorsensing provides many opportunities to make human drivers into safer drivers by combining ADAS technology with DMS.

The conclusion was that this solution would show up first in #cars in 2025-2026, possibly in the BMW Group #Neue #Klasse combining Arriver ADAS with Seeing Machines DMS/OMS. However Seeing Machines now seems to be years ahead of everyone, with a system coming for #aftermarket operation potentially launched in the next couple of months.

The working assumption at this time is that this system will be manufactured by Magna International, which has #automotive-grade production expertise, and a working relationship with both Mobileye and Seeing Machines. In one form or another the system is highly likely to be promoted by all three companies, leading to a win-win-win outcome.

Demand is certain both for "after-manufacture" installation and for #fleet use. Global #commercial #vehicle production is about 5% of light vehicle production, meaning the potential global market is about 4-5 million units per year for #bus, #truck, and #coach. Add on top fleet installs, which also has the potential to be measured in millions of units per year.

While there are many DMS aftermarket systems now on the market for fleet and truck use, they tend to be limited in functionality. Combining both ADAS and DMS into one system, and possibly into one box, and possibly even inside the mirror, is a truly innovative development. The significance of this agreement doesn't seem to have dawned on most folk yet, but will become clear to all soon.

Colin thinks Magna involved so will they just use a rearview mirror type system or use the Guardian unit or will they build a new system with both systems integrated together?

Iam sure Magna & Mobileye together will come up with a solution in one unit. Aftermarket needs to be quick & easy to install, more units, more wires & cables to install so my monies on a one unit solution.

These eyes-off systems correspond to the SAE International classification of Level 3 conditional automation. They offer automated capabilities within a limited operational design domain (ODD) and require the driver to take over if the vehicle goes outside the ODD, such as if a failure is detected or the vehicle exceeds the maximum allowable speed. The Mercedes-Benz system is designed to continue operating for up to 10 seconds after requesting driver takeover. Beyond that, the vehicle will come to a stop.

During his annual CES keynote, Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua described his company’s approach. Shashua has been strongly opposed to the eyes-off idea in the past but has shifted as his company developed full, brain-off automation where no human takeover is required. Mobileye is now providing a camera-based hands-off system called SuperVision for the Zeekr 001 in China and has contracts for nine vehicles from six automakers. SuperVision is the camera subsystem of Mobileye’s full automation system. Over the next several years, it will be augmented with radar, lidar, and more computing power to become the eyes-off Chauffeur system, which will start with highway driving and evolve to rural/arterial roads and finally urban roads.

A key differentiator between the Mercedes-Benz and Mobileye approaches to eyes-off driving is the need for driver takeover. Shashua doesn’t believe that a system requiring human takeover is actually useful enough to provide value to drivers. In the event that something goes wrong, Mobileye Chauffeur will have the redundancy required to maintain safety long enough for the vehicle to make a full stop in a minimum-risk condition. Mobileye is targeting a consumer cost for its urban Chauffeur system of no more than $5,000 by the time it arrives in 2026.

I dont think many realise just how big the Mobileye deal is but its looking like theres one person that does.

The Driver Safety System (DSS) is an in-cab technology with a camera that monitors the operator's facial and eye movements through a 24-point scan. The system is activated by a micro-sleep or distraction event. Operators who experience an event are alerted through an audio alarm and seat vibration that are part of the DSS.

The technology has already been implemented at Syncrude's Aurora and Mildred Lake sites and is now being installed at Suncor's Base Plant haul truck fleet.

"This technology is another tool to help us be safe," says Gerald Pratt, the General Manager of Mine Operations, Base Plant. "We're leveraging information and learning along the way from others that use the technology."

Earlier this month, founder and Chief Executive Officer Amnon Shashua said Mobileye has a revenue pipeline of over $17 billion through 2030 for its core advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) products.
Mobileye, majority owned by Intel, forecast full-year 2023 revenue between $2.19 billion and $2.28 billion. The mid-point of the range came in higher than analysts' average estimate of $2.21 billion, according to Refinitiv data.

One broker thinks this AIM stock should be valued as a £1bn tech unicorn. That gives it massive potential upside at only 7p today.

Investing in London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM) offers me the chance of picking up some exciting under-the-rader small-cap stocks. Corporate broker Cenkos thinks one AIM stock should be valued as a tech unicorn (a value of £1bn or greater). That would represent upside of about 250% from its current valuation.

On a mission
That stock is Australia-based Seeing Machines (LSE: SEE), which is attempting to reduce the number of road accident deaths. This figure is currently more than 1.3m every year, worldwide. A significant proportion of these accidents is due to the fatigue or distraction of drivers.

The company’s AI-powered driver monitoring system (DMS) is embedded in vehicles and planes to detect drowsiness in human drivers and pilots. At the end of June last year, there were more than 447,000 cars on the road enabled with its DMS technology. And the company says that it has detected over 3.6m fatigue and distraction-related driver events to date.
