The US DOD have 100 Genedrive units already and have placed an order for 500 more. Although this is only £3m in revenue the tests accumulated will be on top. Probably the same quantum on top

But it’s the market cap not the share price. At £283m market cap for Novacyt for Genedrive to be equivalent with the new shares in issue next week, share price would need to be just over £6. I’m not saying where we will get too, just that we need to compare apples with apples.

From my research the capacity to manufacture is 10k per hour in batches of 250k lyobeads. This is where the numbers confusion crept in. GDR have secured reagents for 6m tests. They’ll be trying to secure more presumably but also they’ll need to understand the demand dynamics. There margins for direct sales is 60% on a £8-£10 sales price. That does not include any distributor discount, say 30-40%. Numbers will be the numbers but once in the market they will be significant like Novacyts £90m first 2 months of orders.

Makes really interesting reading. Technically Genedrive differs in the chemistry it uses which is why they say it’s more resilient to mutations. Where other chemistries stop working the Genedrive chemistry doesn’t. Could be why some tests are inconclusive and Genedrive could provide better quality of result. Nice

Looks like Genedrive possibly being used for malaria in the future perhaps. Good reading about their probes which are different to the chemistry Novacyt use and look to give more detailed information about mutations...

Why would share holders cut off their noses to spite their face, doesn’t make sense. You can’t buy these shares at 80p and if it’s over subscribed there’ll be a lot of people trying to get back in. The placing is over, time to move o e

The demand for Genedrive shares is very high, hence the price remaining over 2x the placing. I suspect an over subscribed placing and a steady upward trend next week...

@olderandwiser, I agree I think we will hear about commercial sales soon after the placing. With CE and FDA the sights are clearly world wide and not just the UK. This has long legs.

what we do know is for every sell there was a buyer, when I sold my £25k the two sells I placed were bought instantly, I think that says something...

I wonder how many sold positions here thinking they'll either get 80p placing shares or be able to buy back lower? I sold £25k of my holding at £1.50 on Thursday thinking I could buy back lower. I'm happy to take the profit but clearly if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have sold - they say you should always be happy with a profit... too soon :-D!

@scart I agree, what is very positive is the volume of trading ie people are buying the sells. Marve made a really interesting point around retracing, and it was always likely to retrace from the £3 to consolidate the price. At a retrace to £2.30 when you factor in the 25% of new shares as 'sentiment' you end up where we are today at around £1.75. I take the view that interest in GDR is still huge (we will likely see an over subscribed placing) and we will look at this after the next rounds of announcements and probably see that the share price has consolidated in a good place... I'm 100% certain that the next announcements will send the share price on a continued upward trend.

marve, that's an interesting perspective, so without RNS you think it would retrace from £3.00 to around £2.30.... interestingly allowing then for the 25% new shares to be issued that's £1.73 which is where we are anyway.... so all set up again for next weeks RNSs.

A lot of good news flow coming shortly and hopefully some new holders and II's with larger holdings

would be nice to end a torrid week even today and fresh news next week to start the climb back to previous highs. Fundamentals strong, nothing changed apart from 20% more shares and more cash in the bank.

@olderanwiser, I think this will track back up, first ion CE-IVD and then on sales announcements. Beyond that it's really down to how many tests they sell and over what time frame. If they can compete with Novacyte and book £90m of sales then we are looking a very significant upside. Where to, I don't know but somwewhere north of £100m market cap I think.

@olderandwiser, no just retreated, I still hold most of my pile :) I thought sell £25k worth and keep the profit in, then if the shares drop I'd pop back in. I'm happy!

Hi Strongboes, it’s ok as I have enough skin left in the game, it was my foray into day trading, it doesn’t work. I’m going to buy more in another business that’s trading low at the moment and see what happens.

Never wrong to take profit but did I make the wrong decision? Today perhaps I did... still holding some...

Well I tried and failed so far with my trading experiment. Bare in mind I’m a LTH so at these levels I’m above my average anyway so no ‘harm’ done. On the basis that sentiment is this is going low before it climbs again I thought I’d sell at best and see what happens on the basis is that I’d buy back lower, it didn’t work. I sold at £1.50 and was able to sell £25k worth in 2 trades (didn’t try a single trade), they settled immediately. I thought I’d wait until £1.20 to buy back in. I’m still waiting! Someone is buying, mm expect this to recover I’m sure.
