I would say because of the need for the tests that testing will be short, expect labs that have samples to be testing the Genedrive kit within 1 week. I suspect we shall start hiring about which territories kits are being sold by mid-June

I disagree, shortly they'll be a resurgence in infection rates as people stop social distancing and the demand for testing will go up not down, when countries fail their populations by lifting restrictions and creating air bridges so infection can spread, all in the name of economics. This has a long way to run my friends, a long way

I don't agree, it is slow as the retail trading has slowed but the market cap has consolidated very nicely at just under £70m. Once sales revenues are understood this will surely rise again to reflect that, but at the moment is has established a solid position from which to climb imo.

We now know the fund raise and the CE-IVD approvals are seemingly priced into the current share price, a lot of consolidation around £1.50 since the raise, approvals and issue of equity.

What is not yet priced into this are additional approvals from FDA and WHO, it itself a huge uplift in current share price because of the sales opportunities it represents, and orders and sales, again a big up lift.

My prediction is some more news first thing, or Friday, Dave likes Fridays!

for me what this shows is Genedrive is now a credible diagnostics business capable of rapidly making and deploying diagnostic tests into the market and gaining the appropriate regulatory approvals, it has a POC device with several approved diagnostic tests both CE-IVD and WHO. With product now in market and the additional COVID-19 test the future for the business is secured.

Where the market cap should be is an interesting question. COVID skews the calculation for sure, but revenue is revenue and I suspect 2021-2022 will need gold standard test availability so these revenues will be important indicators for market cap.

order to make 6m tests I should say, not a direct order to purchase

the current £66m market cap would be supported by annual sales £13.2m. We have an order for 6m tests at £10 per test and a 60% margin, so £60m turnover and £36m margin assuming all and only 6m sold. Does that support a market cam of £180m to £300m (£4-£6.60)? Certainly an argument to be higher than £1.47 in the near term I think.

Does anyone have another calculation based on known volumes for the secured reagents for 6m tests?

I agree Peckham, the UK should have been setting up a long term testing strategy to cover this and the next pandemic. Talk of beating the virus is premature, with their own advisors and WHO working against second wave infection. The daily updates no better than the met office telling you what the weather is today, we need forecasts for the next 3, 6 , 12 and 18 months to get everyone pulling in the same direction. Talk of air bridges and holidays absolutely comical. This will resurge shortly and winter will be hell without testing and isolation of risk groups.

For me the important question is these late trades must going somewhere, they’re chunky trades for someone to be accumulating....

Anything over 95% is good, you’d expect some loss in POC simply because it’s not as controlled as in the lab

I’m not entirely convinced it’s II selling any more, but probably consolidation at the new market cap with the new shares now in circulation. Trade volumes look consistent. I do expect this to be higher this coming week based on now where we are.

@david the data will show how it performs, the advantage Genedrive will have long term is the data from the highest throughout tests which effectively are the same test run on a different platform. In diagnostics it’s a huge benefit to have both lab based and point of care tests being one and the same. It’s a confidence thing. With molecular testing (I’ve been in it for 20 years) LAMP has always played second fiddle and never achieved the accuracy or sensitivity of PCR. That’s not to say it won’t here, just for me as a seasoned professional I don’t see why a crisis solves the issues it had previously. The reason why optigene are doing it is that it’s an easier system to develop. Will it work at 40C in india like Genedrive? Let’s see :)
