I agree @leer75, the world is going to need to be a very different place to recover, it's a global issue and perhaps we need to think differently about the way economies work. We will either go backwards or forwards, but we do need to test everyone every week for a while

I agree, rising because the company is currently awaiting news of guaranteed first sales for their completed and clinically approved test and undervalued with 6M test production run secured. How right you are :)

What if the II's know there will be an acquisition? What if they are stuck with the current MC because they are forced to sell? What if it makes sense for the share price to be repressed to limit the amount of shares they need to dispose of to keep their percentage holding as high as possible? All bs I know but what if?

@Olderandwiser, I do also think its equipment availability that's preventing a decentralised testing of these tests into regional test centres and that's where the problem is in ramping up. As I have said before a key advantage of this test is that its an endpoint measurement, ie you can run the PCR on a standard PCR machine to take the bulk of the work load (there are 1,000s in the UK) and then quickly analyse them on a single realtime unit. 100x PCR machines feeding 1x realtime unit.

I agree, I would have thought either PHE are evaluating it (David Budd mentioned the NHS in his interviews last week), or GDR would have stated they were not interested in going into the UK testing market. I suspect correctly that the NHS testing will be announced on completion not as some have done, before...

Not enough information yet, like the Abbott system this is not a qPCR platform so until it proves itself it hasn't proved itself. My personal feeling is Genedrive will be more sensitive and faster to result, also although Samba is touted as POC it still requires a lab or small dedicated space, Genedrive is ultra portable.

The issue with many of these tests are the data provided are not real world data, they are tests on archived samples so you don't really get an idea of performance. The Abbott platform originally stated 98% sensitivity and that dropped to <=90% in real world which means 10% of patients are missed. We just don't know yet how this will perform at the lower end of the spectrum, its the low viral load patients we need to not let slip through the net otherwise you can never eradicate it...

This test can be run on standard PCR instruments and analysed on a real-time qPCR machine as an endpoint. What this means is for very little capital outlay you can have a high volume screening lab. This is where the value and sales come

@Lp, very few sales because they needed to wait for the WHO pre-qualification and country specific approvals which we have recently (last month) received for HCV, so there will have been minimal sales. This process of pre-qualification by the WHO which involved their clinical trials and outside of Genedrive's hands took longer than expected.
