Not enough information yet, like the Abbott system this is not a qPCR platform so until it proves itself it hasn't proved itself. My personal feeling is Genedrive will be more sensitive and faster to result, also although Samba is touted as POC it still requires a lab or small dedicated space, Genedrive is ultra portable.
The issue with many of these tests are the data provided are not real world data, they are tests on archived samples so you don't really get an idea of performance. The Abbott platform originally stated 98% sensitivity and that dropped to <=90% in real world which means 10% of patients are missed. We just don't know yet how this will perform at the lower end of the spectrum, its the low viral load patients we need to not let slip through the net otherwise you can never eradicate it...
