sorry jumping into this a little late and may be covered, but does the lock in relate to their existing shares, they can be selling those to offset any selling of the new shares coming in. Not forward selling as such but they can still sell some of what they already hold..?

really exciting that GHIF converted at this level before commercialisation news. They clearly know more as insiders because they are involved with Divoc and Lions Gate in India so will understand the timings and the opportunities in the market. They understand that from an investment perspective that now is probably the best time to convert their loan.

The analogy is interesting though, we are presented with facts around testing that the government present. Slowly the scientists who do not add to the governments economic end to lockdown narrative get sidelined. I notice yesterday Hanco_k was the only one presenting, It's become farcical. We know this is coming back and if testing isn't available it will come back fast and larger than before. The government need to listen to the science and test everyone, regularly, we'll need to work the economics of that on the other side but doping nothing is not an option. I feel Boris is a little shellshocked, not sure anyone in any party is up to the job.

I think it was around the fake dossier of information that said Saddam Hussain was 42 minutes away from launching chemical attacks with false information and scapegoating Dr David Kelly who proceeded to commit suicide taking the ultimate responsibility with Blair taking no responsibility even to this day. Shameful. That dossier tricked me at the time into thinking action was correct, I would have likes to have come to my decision based on facts not lies.

@bigbench, it amazes me we were all having the conversation over the last few months about how this was transient, that there wouldn't be a second wave, that the need for testing was limited. Thats what happens when debate is done with no science. The demand for testing is here, and next year it will all be about 'is this flu or is the COVID-19?' and thats where Genedrive POC will major. We will be selling lots of tests shortly and these will start to be announced in the next 2 weeks as David Budd said. Onwards!

Hi Olderandwiser, a lot of the tests that go onto poc platforms depend on the test (what your looking for), the sample, and the concentration of the target you get in the sample and therefore the sensitivity. For poc you need to work from a sample that’s easy to get in a volume that’s collectible at poc. Genedrive can easily develop a malaria test. It’s not hard. But the issue is, is there enough target in a small blood sample to maintain its poc status whilst providing sufficient sensitivity. So technically easy and straightforward, there maybe some practicalities to consider.

Olderandwiser and Marve, I think work place testing will be more nuanced.

The genedrive poc solution will offer the same gold standard qPCR test as their 96 product, DB said as much by referring to the same chemistry. Where the difference is centres around sample type. As I predicted they are looking to saliva which means clinical trials. Which is where they are I think and why it’s taking longer.

We know the genedrive test works and provides gold standard performance. We need to know if it works as well with saliva.

Avacta haven’t yet provided any performance data. As you know OAW I’m now are shareholder there investing a reasonable amount last week because I think their mass spec product will be key to researching this disease. But Avacta for POC have to prove both chemistry and delivery platform.

So you have to say there are a number of players who could deliver POC, probably more than one may, because genedrive are already selling viral diagnostics tests at POC for HCV with great performance you have to say they’ll be one of them.

Agree Marve, it’s the countries with poor medical services that will be hit hardest

Apple was not first to market with an MP3 player, but took their time to understand what the market needed and produced the iPOD. First to market comes with a limited time frame if there are improvements to be made. Genedrive has a number of key improvements not least to the number of targets, internal positive control and long term room temperature storage.

Novacyt has a business manufacturing PCR kits to 101 different targets. They turn these around quickly and it’s not surprising they cranked their process to get kits out quick.

Genedrive are a diagnostics company and carefully created a diagnostics product based on its chemistry and stabilisation which gives room temperature pre dosed reaction beads. They took care to test it before releasing it and chose to wait for ce IVD which was needed in order to sell it to non-research labs.

Novacyt is finding their test is not being approved everywhere. Stabilisation is for transport only, they will struggle to sell into India and Africa where demand will be high.

Genedrive will not.

The market is plenty big enough.

@scart, I agree, the products and quality of product is second to none, truly gold standard. This company deserves to be top of the UK covid diagnostics league in my opinion.

what has to happen, great products, fully funded, great presentation, honest CEO, share price down???
