Interesting to standback and see the debate here - we have the left wing UK people saying Trumps team are effectively morons and the right wing UK people saying Starmers team are morons.

Johnjo, UK is only one third of the business and it has to position the brand 'above ' the likes of Sports Direct. If you want pile it high and sell it cheap put your million in Frasers their parent - who is trying to get to £600 m pre tax this year and trying desperately to 'Elevate' their brand. I am sure someone on that board can advise you on buying their shares and benefit from your retail expertise.

Lanishen, it certainly derives a lot of revenue from Oil field services - so I would say yes.

STP and knowbody, there are a huge number of youngsters following Nigel Farage just now on social media so I would not count on the support for the centre right dying off if I were a Labour supporter. I would be more worried about the antics of this governement scaring them off by suspending previous leaders like Corbyn and his shadow chancellor , who decided to stand by their principles. Then there is the matter of the Police calling them infor interview at the weekend - looks very authoritarian and spiteful to me.

I think the promise of the investor meeting can only be good news - if they had average/bad news they would not want that session and difficult questions. Maybe other companies are seeking deals to use Telfer - probably early days but something will no doubt come from the BD guy.

Has anyone else looked at Plumplot.co.uk property sales volumes recently? Contrary to the relativey positive noises from the likes of Halifax, Nationwide and Rightmove they are absolutely dire. I have looked at 2 counties , Norfolk and Oxfordshire where volumes are lower than they have ever been in the last 30 years and prices seem to be down around 5% in the last year.

We seem to be going from bad Tories to worse Labour. I guess our sp reflects this.

Mathew, I think LLOy will pay out more than leaving the cash in your current account in the medium term. The issue for this company is the potential car payouts risk , which is in the hands of the legal system , which does seem to be influenced by the government these days , and the FCA . There are other high paying divi UK companies that are not facing those risks so you might want to be adding your monthly figure to those. DYOR and good luck.

Having reached the end of my working life my reflections on what counts is to be able to look back and say 'have i contributed and made good use of my time?' and generally the answer for most Teachers [ apart fro those who get political] is a resounding yes. Well done.

Lemontree, I don't know if it is just me, but every big issue that Starmer has to decide on usually results in him choosing to follow a path that is really bad for the UK or one that i find distatseful. I have never had that before usually there is a balance with PM's with some good and some bad but Starmer does the worst he can everytime it seems to me.

Johnjo, I accept your comment that illiquid stocks are more easily moved but the point I was trying to make is that to accuse FF of trying to pump a stock is just not what he does imho. I have been reading his posts for a couple of years and find them informative and honest - he is too knowledgeable and sophisticated to attempt a 'pump' here.

What I find incredible is the fact that someone is not pointing out to Edd that 65% of our electricity is coming from Gas and given the gas network delivers around 4X the energy of the electricty network , our total gas needs are likely at least double the geberation figure . That means the renewable generation would have to rise by at least 20X . Even his wildest dreams and unlimited investement will not allow for that. Where are the journalists or Professor Diter Helm , when you need them?

Johnjo, the idea that a few comments on here will pump a ftse 100 stock is laughable - it might work on AIM companies where the mcap is a few million but this is £4.5 bn.
