I recall Bonker calling out the cash splurge in Nov and what that in turn meant for the SP in the short term.

That doesnt make me any less p*ssed about whats happened but I am clear on who made the decision to invest my dosh in MTR - and that would be me. And its down to me what I do next as well.

Plenty of learning to be had all round including how to suck up the difficult feelings on not being able to predict what people who have our money but not our interest will do and why. It is hard but if you can't do it or don't want to, then pay someone else to invest your hard earned (and take responsibility) and find something else to do.

Nomlungu - perhaps you could share your understanding of high temp ceramics please ? It would be great to understand what you feel are current issues (if any).

Although MOD and MTR have a JV and therefore some shared objectives/commercials, it may be worth remembering that they are two different types of company. MTR invests in companies who mine, MOD is company that will either be taken over by someone else who will mine or it will start mining. Where the JV is in place with MOD, MTR has to pony up its share of the costs - where it has flogged its share, it does not (example: T3). MTR will still benefit from everything that MOD does via its balance sheet as it reflects the overall value of MOD, not just the bits where there is a JV in place.

I could argue we lost control as well as the cost burden associated with T3 - we won't know whether the deal was truly a good one or not for a while yet.

It does feel to me that MOD has been on go slow with assays and other news that shareholders would find useful one way or the other. Adding to which, MTR did not cover themselves in glory with the recent issue - it does not feel to me that either of them are being transparent but then we are not their priority, making money is - we are here to get the tail end of the making money as a by product of what they do. None of them are in it for us.

I like MTR's model because it is more than its interest in MOD which is difficult to tell sometimes on the BB's - it has diverse interests and therefore a distributed risk/potential reward thing going on.

So in summary, I am not sure why these two shares are a one or the other type of choice.. If I was looking for a pure mining stock, I would look wider than MOD due to their behaviour/performance in the last year.

I went for MTR as an investment vehicle, rather than a miner proper - my current average is above todays SP. I will be holding and making a decision at the start of 2019Q2 unless something chuffing awesome happens in the meantime.

I think this share will come back but I doubt we will see it coming or will be able to predict what it will be.

For what its worth, the next big absolutely known to be happening SP impacting news will be around end of Q1 2019.

In the meantime, you may want to save yourself an ulcer by not looking every day because this will either be flatlining, or doing something horrible in the meantime.

Of course there should be other news, but this is the known news.

If it helps, I am an anxious LTH too and I have to resist gawping at this BB because it rarely helps.

Sincere question Cashking - why are you on this BB?

What I am unclear on is why Sprott would choose to access MOD via MTR. Why not invest directly in MOD ? Perhaps Sprotts interest is MTR and it's wider stable of investments ?

Unfortunately, I am not sure I have anything to say that you want to hear - but I am not entirely certain what you want.

Are you looking for people here to convince you of the MTR story ? I think thats quite a big ask of your fellow PI's. Even if the energy was there, I am not sure how we can do that when we dont know anything about you - your risk appetite, preferences, objectives, background etc.

In brief, the demand for copper is increasing, availability of copper as a resource is decreasing in quality and quantity. MTR has more than one oppurtunity to get to copper because like you say its an investment vehicle, not an actual miner (for what its worth, that appeals to me and my preferences). Copper has been found in KHB, proven via assays and MOD, more to come.

MOD have some natty equipment that seems to be able to pinpoint where to drill successfully for copper therefore reducing time and cost to identify where said copper is.

Correct me if I am wrong fellow BB'ers but we dont know how they will be getting the copper out at the moment ?

So the signs are good for some of us but maybe not for you - but thats up to you to work out and DYOR on I think ?

Okies, so just to check, you are PI who has traded in and out of MTR over the years and who currently has a super low average (kudos to you btw).

But you arent interested in the SP and instead, have a more altruistic interest in MTR's progress or lack of ?

If this is correct, it might explain why you may be at odds with the more usual PI on this board who is super interested in the SP, particulalry when compared with said PI's average (correct me if I am wrong on that boys and girls).

I think if we are going to get fresh news from MOD it will be after JH does his thang in Oz next week - thats Thursday at the earliest - as for the rest of the MTR stable, who knows.

As for takeovers, perhaps we could be clearer about what we mean when we say that - is it the whole of MOD, 'just' T3, will MTR flog its whole interest in the KCB ? There are many ways to sell something or other to realise as a positive impact to the MTR balance sheet short term and our position in the market (as a succesful investor not an actual miner) in the long term.

I can practically gurantee MTR's objectives arent aligned with any of ours as individuals other than at the very high level of making a profit so any TO is unlikely to be a crowd pleaser from that perspective. If you have a view beyond a few months, then there should be a degree of result no matter what gets sold and for what.

This happend to me earlier in the week and I beleive it was because of the volume I was selling - once I reduced the volume, I got quoted so I split my sale (got a different price based on volume levels too....slightly lower price for a higher volume). Don't know why either - sorry dude.
