I agree re the highter CT rate and tackling wealth as well as income.

I note though you haven't mentioned anyone owning more than one home not the epic subsidies that the Gov give to oil and gas companies as tax relief on Investments.

As for the Green subsidy ? Why is the customer paying for future investment with low CT rates and epic profits being distributed as divis ? Any other industry would have to raise funds for investment either by ussing profit, debt or equity.

The Oil and Gas companie do not need our help or the Governments help - on a good day its a cartel.

From what I can see from my lists, I think people have started to move over to income stocks. My divi list has had far more blue than my capital growth lists.

Are you really believing that RA won't benefit from the sale of Chelsea ? And I don't think he has comfirmed it would go to the Ukranian victims of war either. This would be the same RA who has legged it to Israel on his private jet - yes, the private jet that is meant to have been under sanctions. Our Government is absolutely in the pockets that hold the most gold - but there are plenty here who traded Evraz purely in the last few weeks to make coin off the back of volatility. So not sure anyone can take high ground around here or in the UK Government.

The EU will start to negotiate with Norway for their Oil and Gas which is currently a key supplier to the UK.
Money, as usual, will win out.

I agree on all your points wiht the excepiton that the Russian people will rally round to support Putin.

Putins popularity and support as been on the wane for a quite a while - he has now taken action to attack the literal family of Russians in Ukraine.

I think this will end by Russia taking action against Putin - whether thats via the special tea, outing his illness, a coup etc who knows.

Oligarchs are already coming out and making noises about peaceful resolution - not only because of the impact to the ruble but also because a number of key Russians have become global citizens and all the fun and choice that that entails - they can see that disappearing over the horizon for themselves and their children.

The standard Russian citizen has also been used to having more choice and being considered part of something bigger than Russia.

There's no point having tons of a low value currency if you can't leave the country or import your nice things. I don't believe anyone in Russia with the excepiton of Putin, wants to be a global pariah.
