Thanks Dai I see your point and a very good idea.
I think the problem I have is that I only buy into shares that after research I really believe in and when you go into the red it is because of this belief I continue to hold, as with HE1. However, there have been many times over the last year when I should have sold when even in the red to actually increase my holding with the money released. I know you might say well Swissy it is easy in hindsight but I knew while it was happening but I just need to react quicker and leave emotion out.
With Aim stocks over the past year it has been difficult as many Bigger Funds have had to cash in to capitalise funds for release to worried investors. This has meant that some companies are trading below their cash in bank value by some margin which is crazy. This allows for a buy in opportunity but then others require a raise at a much lower value (we are in one now) which depresses SP once again. It is made very difficult when so many false dawns of promised SP moving business strategies don't happen that can draw you in as I did never imagine from last January it could take this long to secure the rig.
If there is one thing that has become apparent to me over the past 3 years investing in AIM listings is that there is nearly always another chance to buy in at a rewarding price just as long as you are only trying to achieve modest margins and not the huge dream making 10x or 20x. I guess I need to toughen up and trust my judgement and I am getting there slowly. I personally believe HE1 will find Helium but I need to be realistic that even if they do is it there in commercial volumes that can flow to production. My romantic head says yes they can but if you could take a theoretical 50% gain before considering that risk and could you buy back in after further dilution required for production plant construction. Time will tell but some clever traders could be compounding their holdings or taking profits between then and now.
I'm all ears for friendly insights into others experiences as it would be taken for what it is, friendly conversation as we should all be doing our own research. GLA and lets hope that the Rig contract gets signed early and then it will be apparent how strong the markets are at present and how strong any SP rises can go. Cheers Swissy.
